Came by around 3pm on a Tuesday for lunch and got the open faced thanksgiving sandwich. Service was great and the sandwich was very tasty and filling. The only reason I’m knocking off a star is because the pictures I had seen on Unilocal of some of the foods I was looking forward to trying were unavailable. Would have been nice to have some more of their well known plate options for lunchtime.

Best service you can get in Boston, we had our service dog with us and they let her in and got her dog cookies and water. Shout out to MOLLIE and everyone else at the restaurant!

Went here for brunch on Saturday. I got the crab cake benedict and because of it’s price tag, I was hoping for the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. Not so much. It was alright, but nothing impressive. I’d go back again just for a bloody mary because I didn’t try one, but I don’t feel the need to ever spend that much on brunch again.

I thoroughly enjoyed the brunch here the few times I’ve come here. Great French toast! Other items are just ok.

Let’s be real. Stephanie’s is ‘fine,’ but if this restaurant was a woman… it would be a Basic Bitch, for sure. To start, I never hear about anyone coming here for dinner. Ever. I’m sure it’s busy, since it’s conveniently located on Newbury St/tourist central, but the basic bitch in all of us comes here for brunch on the weekends after a spin class or hot yoga sesh. Before I continue I have to note that the restaurant looks great after the recent renovations. It’s not nearly as stuffy or outdated as it used to be. 1 ½ thumbs up! Now… onto the experience. I love that each place setting comes with a ‘Bloody Mary menu’ on the weekend. Each Bloody starts at $ 10.50 — and no, that does not include the vodka, so once you start adding items to your Bloody it can add up quickly and end up being a pretty pricey drink. Also, why are they charging $ 1 for a spicy green bean?(Cue resting bitch face.) Anyways, the BM isn’t worth the price. Head over to the Pour House after for a super solid Bloody that won’t break the bank. Food. The food is so ridiculously priced here — I CAN’T EVEN. Everything on the brunch menu is roughly $ 20. I love breakfast, but no breakfast is worth $ 20. You could buy 5 dozen eggs for that price and have your own brunch party! … But the basic in me caved. I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla($ 20), which is basically a flour tortilla with eggs, cheese, black beans, guac, sour cream and salsa(not prepared in house). It was fine. Satiated my basic brunching hunger pangs. In short. Save your money. If you want to be seen in your super cute wunder unders from lulu after your totally zen work out on Saturday — by all means… enjoy Basic Stephanie’s.

I ordered the meal with the words«You can’t go wrong with pasta». Well, I guess you can. The other person said the same thing tonight @ Stephanie’s. I added one star because drinks were good. The interior gets another star.

My friend and I came here for a Sunday brunch on a friend’s recommendation. Décor: Very stylish and upscale look. Cool lamp in the back corner. Orange booths were a little odd looking. Chic wallpaper. Overall, feels comfortable and stylish. Service: Seated quickly, friendly waitress who brought coffee out pretty quickly as well, along with refills along the way. Helpful about our questions regarding the menu. Overall, average/decent service. Food: This is where it all falls apart. 1. Monkey Bread. The Monkey Bread is not Monkey Bread. It is not chewy, not light, not fluffy. It is not ooey-gooey. It does not pull apart easily. It is coffee cake. Or pound cake. Or something dense. The flavor was okay, but it was not what we were expecting. 2. Vegetable Omelette. EIGHTEENDOLLARS. Yes. $ 18 dollars for an omelette that is common at a diner for around $ 8. It was only okay. 3. Eggs Benedict. It was too sour because of a lemon-vinegar flavor. Overall, so-so. TWENTYDOLLARS. 4. Homefries. These came with both of the entrees. Soggy, too much paprika, and the onion did not complement the spices. You could get a crispier, more flavorful potato at most diners. 5. Coffee: Tasty but overpriced. $ 4.25…shoulda had a shot of something for that price. Location: Convenient to T and shopping.

Had a reservation for Saturday brunch at 12… seated probably like 10 mins after while they set up our booth. The ambience here is great. lovely place to catch up with your girls. I didn’t feel rushed… we stayed probably 2 hours… it took longer to get our order(server to come) than for our food to come out. The executive mimosa is good but expensive. as is everything on the menu. I had the crab cake Benedict with the jalapeños hollandaise sauce. and my oh my. i don’t even like jalapeños and it was delicious! A hint of spice though! The french toast is amazing… i usually hate french toast but this had a delicious jam. but the edges were a bit hard to bite so what a waste. The kid size is pretty big… it had 2 pieces! The ahi tuna was delicious as well. The daily special was a lobster omelette and the lobster was pretty good… The potatoes that come with the dish is good too! The cappuccino was good but so small… half of the small cup is foam. Our server was sweet but service can be slow but that’s great if you have all afternoon. I’ll definitely come back if i want to treat myself!

Stephanie’s is a perfect place for lunch, especially outdoors in the warmer months… you can get in some good people watching here. The fried chicken sandwich, some salads, and the tuna melt are really good. The prices are up there, I guess they’ve gotta pay that Newbury lease somehow.

I went there around 3PM on a Thursday, and it was above average for sure. Amazing atmosphere, with a slight chic feel to it. Not EXTREMELY fancy, but definitely on the upper scale of restaurants. The server was AMAZING. She made us feel more than welcome, was very friendly, and very professional. The steak sandwich was HUGE, but not amazing. 3.5÷5. A friend of mine ordered the Bolognese(I tried it), and it was really great — even though it wasn’t REALLY bolognese. It had a more garlicy feel to it with ingredients you don’t really find in Bolognese. Overall, great experience. The food is tasty enough, the alcohol selection seemed great, it’s right on one of the fanciest streets on Boston, and the servers are amazing.

Here’s what you need to know about Brunch in Boston… Ready? They DONOT have unlimited Mimosas or Bloody Mary’s. I know… take a minute to process that. Coming from Florida, where Tap 42’s unlimited brunch is acclaimed by all, and Max’s Harvest is like the Willy Wonka factory of Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, this was hard to understand and accept. My friend and I searched and searched for one Brunch place that would but instead we found an article saying how it was against the law to offer discounted price drinks(or at least that’s what I understood in the confused and sad state my head was while reading it). Still, brunch is an important weekend meal, and should not be skipped, especially on your last«leisure» day of traveling. And, really, you still can do unlimited(if your body and wallet permits it — not necessarily in that order) :p All kidding aside(they really don’t do unlimited, I wasn’t kidding about that part), we asked the bartenders at our hotel bar to recommend a good Brunch place for our last Sunday in Boston. Without even thinking they recommended Stephanie’s and took out their menu for us to see. They both said they enjoy the place and food very much and always recommend it. Sunday came, and just(literally) around the block from where we were staying was Stephanie’s. Just to make sure we had a table I made reservations the night before. The first thing I noticed were the fun/beautiful lamps, how big the place looks from the inside, and loved the upstairs room they have, which would be perfect for a small gathering or event. The restaurant is classy but casual, and very inviting. We were immediately seated, near the kitchen, and I could see all the plates coming out making it extremely hard to decide on what to order. One thing I did knew for sure was that we were having their Cinnamon Monkey Bread as an appetizer as soon as I saw it. It’s big, warm, not too sweet. Can’t say it’s the best I’ve had but it was good and great for sharing! Yes, I’m going back to the mimosas… of course I had one, and they make them just right. Champagne to the top and a splash of OJ to make it that pretty color. They also have a «Make your own Bloody Mary» chart where you can choose the mix, the brand of vodka you want, vegetables, if spicy, you can even add Shrimp. Very fun project to build it and then see it all pretty and done at the table. After looking at the menu I decided to order the Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were a little bit over cooked but still flavors were amazing. The muffin was perfectly toasted and easy to cut(I’ve had some that I needed a steak knife to do so). The homefries were seasoned and delicious, no need for ketchup, and the salad is a great add on to the dish to give it some light fresh taste. Now, as much as I liked this, I must recommend the Pulled Pork Scramble. I usually stay away from«pulled pork» thinking it will be smothered in BBQ sauce but that is not the case her. My friend ordered it, I tried it, and we both agreed that was the best thing that was brought to our table. This one is a party of flavors in your mouth with bacon, cheddar cheese, avocado, caramelized onions and homefries on the side. Believe me, it’s a must try. At no point we were ever rushed, server allowed us to fully enjoy our meal, take our time and plates were brought out as soon as she knew we were done with the appetizer. She was friendly, and great at making recommendations. The manager also came by to make sure we had enjoyed our experience there. The same way Stephanie’s was recommended to us I will recommend to you. Great food, service, ambiance… Even without the bottomless I want to go back!

Over priced. Service isnt that good. Food is just at par. Nothing great. paparazzi is a better option Eggs shashuka.- basically a really really rich tomato sauce with 3 very confused eggs in between and. 3 pieces of bread. The sauce is so rich that you can barely taste anything but the tomato. The dish is a complete waste of money. The crab caked; were good the eggs benedict on top were done perfectly however over all the dish was a little disappointing specially in presentation. So totally not justifying the 23 $ price tag.

This is a nice brunch place on Newbury Street. The location is convenient if you want to grab brunch and then go shopping in the area. I would recommend visiting on a Sunday or holiday as metered parking is free. Otherwise it would be challenging in finding a parking space. Alternatively we recommend public transportation to get into the area. We came here on New Year’s Day for brunch. We started out with the monkey bread, which isn’t what I am used to. The money bread is not as gooey and sticky as I am used to; it was more of a loaf of cake-like bread served with an icing like sauce(glaze?). See picture. I would not order it again. For my main dish I had one of the specials – lobster omelette. It was good but the only thing I didn’t like about it were the artichoke hearts. I think they use a version that is pickled or preserved. It gave the omelette a pickled or sour taste which detracted from the fresh lobster they used. This place got busy pretty quickly so either come early(around 10 am) or make a reservation. There is outdoor seating and a bar area. I have walked by Stephanie’s during the warmer months, and this would be a great place to have a bite to eat and people watch. Service was decent, though they may have been a little short on wait staff today(it was New Year’s Day). It took a while for our monkey bread to come out(but the omelette came out shortly afterwards). Our waitress asked if we wanted some more coffee but she never came back to refill(however one of the managers refilled our coffee after he brought out the monkey bread). All in all, a good place to check out and try. Definitely a good option if one is in the area but I would not make a special trip for brunch here. The food was a bit pricey and one is paying basically for the location.

Bön restaurant, le service est très bien, comme très souvent aux états unis. Nous étiez un groupe de 8, et nous avons été installé sur deux grandes tables rondes cote à cote, c’était très sympa. Coté nourriture, même si le carte semblait sympa et donnait envie, une fois servies, et goûtés, on est tout de même un peu déçu. Je m’explique: C’est. pas mal, mais sans plus. Je conseille tout de même le homard entier qui était parfaitement cuit(plat choisi par mon amie). De mon coté j’avais jeté mon dévolu sur des saint jacques sakés et roulées au bacon et un risotto au basilic. Le description faisait en effet son petit effet, mais au final, même si les saint jacques étaient bien cuites, le bacon était un peu présent, et surtout le risotto était pas terrible, sans gout, dommage;

Lobster Guacamole? Get it! Where else will you see a combo like that? A few bottles of red? Absolutely. They have Petite Petit by the bottle which not only has a fun label, but it also tastes great. It’s one of my go-to easy wines and I was happy to see it on the menu. I had seared scallops which were perfect. Don’t listen to the 3star reviews– just go, eat, drink, enjoy. You’ll like this place.

Still amazing… I go here every time I am in Boston. Their goat cheese appetizer was simply amazing and their service is always some of the best we get in the city.

Stephanie’s on Newbury falls into a special category of Boston restaurants for me. It is «The Rent is Too Damn High» category. Allow me to explain. While Stephanie’s appears fancy, using ingredients like crab, poached egg, and hollandaise sauce, in fairly conventional ways, I feel that much of the food is just iterations of the same pieces. There are home fries, there are some greens. Then there is the main piece of your meal, whatever that looks like. It’s probably fine, and somewhat bland. The food overall is something that I would expect at a breakfast diner… but they try to upscale the appearance. That’s another theme. The location just underwent significant renovation, and has been given an upscale look, with luxurious but ultimately awkward orange booths. Everyone is dressed well, and it feels like a brunch institution. But when the food comes out it ruins the whole upscale vibe, because it’s just, well fine. And when I want brunch like this, I want it to be gooey and greasy and cheap… I don’t want the pretense, and I don’t want the bill. And that’s the problem here. This place feels like the only reason that they try to look upscale is because they can’t afford not to be. Their rent is too damn high. Where else can you charge $ 18 for french toast(the cheapest brunch item), which is really just some bread and eggs? Yes, we all know there is a restaurant premium — but they take it one step further. At Stephanie’s there is a RENT premium. I get that they can’t afford to stay here without charging an arm and a leg. But I think they need to take this one step further, they need to really commit to their status as a fancy brunch/lunch/dinner spot to justify their sky high prices. So, Stephanie’s — I am seeing straight through you, and I am not impressed.

Whenever I ask my friends for brunch recommendations, they always talk about Stephanie’s on Newbury. I figured I’d give it a shot despite the 3 star rating and turns out that it was more of a 2 star experience. Yes, it’s getting chillier in Boston but why don’t the heat lamps work!?! Every other one worked in the outdoor patio besides ours. The hostess should’ve warned us, but it’s okay… I decided to order some clam chowder to warm me up. Too bad the clam chowder was extremely bland and so I pushed that to the side. I then proceeded with the poncherello which was okay. The turkey was a little to dry for my liking. The banana pancakes were really good though, very impressed. Not sure I’d come back

I visited Boston a few weeks ago, and while walking down Newbury on a Saturday afternoon, I passed Stephanie’s and it was absolutely packed. I overheard the hostess telling customers it was a 45 minute wait if you wanted to be seated on the patio(and of course you want to be seated on their beautiful patio on a gorgeous summer day). So naturally, when I saw how busy it was, I knew I had to go there to see what all the hype was about. My mom and I went for brunch on Monday, which was great because we were seated right away on the patio. We placed our drink order and our food order relatively quickly. I ordered a bloody mary and eggs benedict for my meal and my mom ordered a mimosa and omelet with a side of bacon. W probably waited at least a half hour for our food to come, which was a little bit frustrating because they weren’t that busy. Tables around us were also starting to get frustrated and make comments to their servers. Finally our food came out and everything was delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly and their spicy potato hash that they give you is amazing. I had a bite of my mom’s omelet and that was delicious as well. The manager even came over to apologize for the wait, which we really appreciated. I took off a star because of the wait but I took off a second star because of the price of the food. Our bill came to 80 $…yep, that’s right. 80 $ for breakfast. Paying $ 6 for an extra side of bacon is a little ridiculous and it was only four pieces of bacon… it’s not like they gave us the entire pig. I guess you’re paying for the location of the restaurant, considering it is in Boston on Newbury street. Overall, good food, beautiful location, but not worth the money.

I am not sure why its just three stars. Its a nice place. The hosts are inviting and courteous. I had ordered sangria which was quite nice. The breads were just great especially the raisin ones. I had ordered salmon which was perfectly cooked. Will strongly recommend that. We had also ordered some seafood, which was very very salty and when we complained about it, they readily took it off the table and did not charge for it. Overall a good experience at this place.
