Bangkok Express

I got the pad thai. It came out quickly, there was a lot, and $ 1 for 5 shrimp. The noodles were cooked well and there was a good amount of bean sprouts. The good really stops there.
I’ve been to Thailand. It didn’t have lime, peanuts or chili flakes on the side. The sauce was like a soup there was so much. And it was white… it really looked like pasta in Alfredo sauce. Not a lot of flavor.

The sauce was good, the chicken was dried

they pretended not to understand what I was saying when I asked for the manager. the cashier didn’t want to let me see the manager. the manager poked the roach around, brought out uncooked noodles for me to see, which he literally fingered around, to show me there was no roaches in it. the manager called a mother like figure to the front that asked me «what i wanted,» to which i replied i want you to clean this place, she let me know she had no intention on refunding the nine dollars. I said no prob, bc ironically i have no intention on not going to the board of health.

while i was in town, I saw this walking in Faneuil Hall. I support any Thai restaurant I come across, so I gave them a try. I had the Curry puffs and the spring rolls. They were generous and made me fresh ones. The curry puffs were a little wet than to what I’m used to, but it was still good. The spring rolls were great! Good to try if you want a quick bite in a busy shopping area.

The dish has a lot of flavor, had a good onion kick, which is unusual for this dish.
Service:
Quick, even in the middle of a Friday night pub crawl.

Winning!

I’ve only ordered their tofu basil fried rice. It’s delicious! They make it when you order it. It has just the right amount of tofu and it spicy, but not too spicy. I’ve ordered it about 10 times now. Yum! :)

The only thing I ever order is chicken basil fried rice. A large helping of rice stir fried with chicken, onion, egg, peppers and thai basil is cooked to order and costs a little over $ 7. The dish is appropriately spicy and the quality has been very consistent over the years.

Ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken. Came out to about $ 8 and was made hot within 5 minutes. Was surprisingly much better than what I expected since their «buffet» choices didn’t look so tasteful. Definitely something I would go back to if I was craving Pad Thai.

While I do like their PadThai and Tom Yum soup, I have tried to work around their «minimum» credit card charge in the past and bought more items because of it. Credit card minimums are supposed to be illegal I thought. When last night all I wanted was some soup, and they would not sell it to me b/​c I was a dollar off, I had to walk away. Their loss, I’ve been there multiple times as I work in the area.

I’ve been here quite a few times because I work in the area and choices are limited, so I thought I’d toss it a review. The food is acceptable because the prices are low (for Faneuil Hall) and they will cook to order in a reasonable amount of time, but don’t expect greatness.
They are consistently inconsistent because there are quite a few different chefs that seem to work here, so sometimes your Pad Thai might be great and other times it’s weak. Sometimes the portions are on the large side and sometimes the portions are on the small side. Though they make things seem bigger than they are by filling your container full of plain rice and then packing it down with the meat and veggies on top. I’d advise skipping shrimp anything because they skimp on them too much. Prices are in the $ 6 – 8 realm, which isn’t bad by Faneuil Hall standards.
On a final note they have a sketchy buffet of fried foods that look more like they belong in front of a Chinese take-​out, but they’re there to please the masses. Skip the buffet and order something fresh.

Bangkok Express is a fast food Thai kiosk in Faneuil Hall. Their menu lists various offerings, including soups, appetizers, a «buffet”-style choice (pick from 1 – 3 meal choices and rice or noodles), and entrees like spicy basil leaves with beef, chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
After waiting in a crowded (but thankfully short) line, I placed my order. It took roughly three minutes for my food to come out. (FYI, the Bangkok Express is cash-​only.) For the curious, I think the cashier was Thai, but the cooks definitely didn’t look to be.
I had tom yum soup and basil drunken noodles ($ 10, $ 2 more than fast food Thai should be, perhaps?). I found two forks, a spoon, and napkins, all in a to-​go bag along with the food. Everything was warm, not scalding hot. The tom yum was a little watery but had tang to it, was a nice size (not stingy), and had lots of mushrooms in it. The drunken noodles weren’t dry, filled me up (generous portion sizes!) and I could taste the basil. Overall, the meal was delicious, not outstanding.
If you’re stuck in Faneuil Hall with nowhere to go (AND you like Thai), give it a try!

Bangkok Express (located in the Faneuil Hall Food Court) has taken it’s place as the best place to order take out Thai food in Downtown Boston. Prices are reasonable, most menu items are cooked to order and the quality is actually good. Did I mention the huge serving sizes? With the lack of quick Thai in Downtown Boston, Bangkok Express stands well above the rest.
