I ordered for pick up one night as the restaurant was closing. The food was prepared very fast and given to me with a smile and kind attitude although they were also trying to clean up and close the restaurant. I had chicken pad Thai, pad kra pow and tom yum soup. In general the good was okay, as the pad Thai was mostly thick noodles, some chicken and one or two pieces of scallion in it. There was not bean sprouts or peanuts or lime– the other ingredients I usually expect in pad Thai. The pad kra pow was very tasty with a good amount of vegetables including peas, onions and red and green peppers. The only issue I had was that it was basically soaking in oil in the dish and because of that I could only eat half of it. Also there was no fried egg which is usually served with this dish. The tom yum was average however I asked for it to be spicy and if was not. Overall, a cheap, fast place if you want to get a quick average bite. However I will not be back due to the seemingly inauthenticity(I have been to Thailand four times even spending a four month stint there) and the lack of ingredients in the recipes.

Sorry to say, they have closed down. But fear not, there will be another Thai restaurant taking its place!

Food was very good — got chicken & shrimp pad Thai and chicken basil oh and spring rolls to start with. This is clearly a take out place that has tables but the tables are just thrown in the place with nothing on them ie no tablecloths no salt pepper etc. The chicken is open which is nice you can your food being made. Just think they need to improve their décor.

First off, not cheap for lunch. Anyone who says so hasn’t been to too many Thai restaurants in the Boston area. Ordered a dish and waited. And waited. The tables are dirty and the floor is littered. Kitchen looked clean enough from what I could tell, but no one is cleaning the customer area during lunch, that’s for sure. Waited some more. 8 orders that were placed after mine went out the door. I had trouble getting their attention – finally HEY! That worked… After some discussion they started asking the kitchen about my order. It’d been close to ½ hour so I said forget it just give me my money back. The woman was clearly pissed off at that. Shouldn’t I be the angry one here? No apology, but at least I did get my $ 11.25 back. Rude, disheveled, but unfortunately I can’t rate the food.

Decent food for decent price. One of the better joints in downtown that offers quick grab ‘n go food that is quite delicious. Indonesian Fried rice, Pad Thai(shrimp) and drunken noodles are quite good. They have a ‘wider’ menu than most carry out places and usually serves food with consistent quality that is quite good.

Cheap, good quality Thai food Chicken wings are great, basil fried rice was awesome, chicken kra pow was pretty good Wish they had non styrofoam/plastic cutlery for dine-in customers though!

Ordered the standard drunken noodle with chicken, and nothing was too special about it. Food is mediocre, and price was around $ 10. It’s a good option if you are not the type of person who likes to bring lunch to work, but I would just use this place as a back up for myself during busy workloads.

One of the few places to get Thai Cuisine for lunch in Boston! It’s a little pricey for lunch, but if you’re looking for quality Thai food, this is the place to get it. Ask them to kick up the heat if you enjoy a little flame in your food! Thai’s Bistro is quick, efficient, and located near the harbor. It’s an scenic walk from any part of Boston. This is the clear choice for Thai food in the Financial District.

Not bad place. When I used to work next door, I’d come here now an again. Foods not bad. Never had any problems with anything. They have a beautiful salt water tank with fishes. But the tank is really discussing! Very gross mold build up. They definitely need to clean that! Especially having there customers eat next to it. I’ll take a picture to show you what I mean ;) Hope you like the photos I show you and understand, this is more of a place to go to if you don’t have something else in mind. Food isn’t bad. Also… They do not have a to-go menu. They have a larger board above their whole counter. So if you wanna see what they got, look up. lol place isn’t big, it’s small.

Either people in Boston who rate this highly think Thai food is mediocre pan-Asian food or it’s a separate species of food [SEPARATEBUTEQUALOK?!]. Don’t let the hole-in-the-wall/cafeteria style confuse you that the food won’t be generic Asian-ey glop.

Not enough shrimp in pad thai. Not much flavor either. Crab Rangoon was average. Tomyum soup was tasteless, chilli powder mixed in water. Chicken satay was average. Service was slow and not friendly.

I’ve eaten her a couple of times for lunch and have been thoroughly impressed. The chicken wings are some of the best wings I have had in Boston. They are a little spicy, crispy, and most of all very meaty and juicy. It’s reasonably priced for lunch(about $ 10 for a pretty good lunch portion).

Worst thai experience both times I tried it – first time I thought — oh the food just got cold during delivery — second time they were rude on the phone while ordering delivery — we waited 1hour 35 mins then after repeatedly calling them to figure out the problem they told us that we didn’t understand the delivery process — ummmmm NO — you just lost a customer — ridiculous — and the food was gross — VERY disappointed Go to thai basil on Newbury if you want great food !

My ex boyfriend is a long-term committed relationship with Thai’s Bistro. They give him extra meat on his pad thai and in return he provides them with 90% of their pad thai income. He loves the sauce, which is sweet but not cloyingly so, and I have to agree. «Bistro» is kind of the wrong word for this place, it’s more like«Thai’s Cafeteria». Don’t come here for a date or anybody you want to impress, come here if you don’t mind picking up their food on a tray from the counter and eating pure Thai goodness. I got the tamarind duck, which is a HUGE helping of crispy skinned duck with a sweet pineapple tamarind sauce. To help offset the strong flavors, they also provide you with a bowl of rice. Definitely would recommend to anybody looking for a non-noodle dish here. They also have a super extensive menu with curries and dishes called«Seafood Orgy». My only complaint is that it’s a little on the pricey side for a restaurant that’s primarily geared towards takeouts. But one can’t expect much from a place situated in the heart of the Financial District!

THEBEST Thai food I’ve had in Boston. The ambiance is not that great but don’t let that speak for the food. My absolute favorite dish is the Panang Curry with Scallops with Brown Rice. I crave that all the time! The spice level is really nice. I’m used to restaurants asking for spice level but this place just has one and it’s perfect. They deliver if you work in the area and it’s convenient and delicious. my fav!

Tried to find something that was decent(cheaper) and not bar food in this area… we ended up with 12 people in this restaurant. It is honestly not as nice as the pictures… it’s a place that reminds me of what I would expect in college. They were really nice to us since we had such a big party. There is no wait service. you simply walk up and order. Then they call your number and you pick up your food. It’s not astounding. but it was okay, large portions, and cheap. Fit what we wanted… and we were out of there to get ready for the Halloween night.

Okay, time for a new page… but in summary of my experience here, I love the crab rangoon($ 5.95 for 5) although at my most recent visit in June 2012 they arrived less than pleasingly plump for the first time… and hopefully the last? The Thai Fried Rice has always been really good. Terrific sweet bbq pork comes in the Thai’s Bistro BBQ vermicelli dish. Their chicken tends to be overcooked, so I’ve been avoiding it. Good are the pad thai and both the yellow and massaman curries. Oh, and the fried chicken wings are good too. But more specifically to this last visit — we tried the Fish N Herb dish(Chef’s selected fish fillet, slightly browned, topped with sauteed assorted vegetables in a well blended ginger sauce), $ 13.95 for the dinner portion according to the online menu. It was battered fried fish with loads of fresh veggies, and a serving of white rice on the side. It was really tasty. $ 21.30 total for the fish and crab rangoon after taxes. *** 6⁄2012 still *** Well, looks like the more normal looking crab rangoon stars are here to stay(bye, my overstuffed lovelies… *sniff*). But at least they are still crisp shelled bundles filled with rich creamy tastiness, served with that sweet sticky sauce on the side… yum. The pad thai pork was moist and plentiful. But my dc was certain there was the taste of shrimp lingering on it… could that be the fish sauce? No idea… *** 8⁄2012 *** Somehow the crab rangoon seemed even more, less special. They were still just regular filled, rather than the original overstuffed loveliness. But the flavor didn’t seem as yummy curry delicious outstanding as it had in the past… was it because I was just eating it, and not slowly enjoying it? Or was I just eating it and not slowly enjoying it because it didn’t taste as special this time? *** 8⁄2012 still *** The yellow curry pork $ 8.50 seemed spicier than usual — was it because we were there after the lunch rush, so they had prepared this single serving just for us? The scallion pancake $ 5.95 arrived after. Somewhat smaller(in diameter) than expected, a bit doughy in spots but definitely crispy, served with a sweetened soy sauce of some kind. I liked it, although it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. That would be still be the one from the 2nd floor cafeteria in Chinatown(RIP), which has yet to be dethroned in my mind. Sounds like they have a new appetizer chef. Here’s hoping that they took my comment on the size of the crab rangoon to heart… *** 8⁄2012 yet again *** The pork in the yellow curry dish was extra tender today. The crab rangoon were still rather normally filled, but were good. *** 8⁄2012 #4 *** Fresh rolls $ 5.95 were two wrapped rolls each sliced into four portions. The stickiness of the rice paper wrappers made them a bit tough to pick up. My DC thought they would have been less messy if they were cut in halves rather than quarters. They were very salad filled with just a touch of shrimp. They were okay, but nothing I would hanker for. *** 9⁄2012 *** We tried the steamed vegetable dumpling $ 5.95(according to the menu online and on paper, but noted as gyozas on the menu board). Kind of mushy. Pass. *** still 9⁄2012 *** Shu mai $ 5.95 were the non-pork sort. Soft and tender, but not mushy — better healthy appetizer option than the steamed vegetable dumplings. Rad Na was chock full of brown sauce with a good portion of vegetables and meat, but not enough of the wide rice noodles I love. It was a bit over peppered this time and I didn’t care for the little beans I found remaining in the residual sauce — fermented beans? *** 10⁄2012 *** Differences between Massaman curry and Yellow curry to me are basically that there are peanuts in Massaman, pineapple in Yellow. Both are yellow colored sauces served with veggies, your choice of meat, and white rice. I find that I prefer the Massaman version both in flavor and because it doesn’t have the slight kick that Yellow does. *** 5⁄2013 *** Pork Cashew $ 7.95(?) had good flavor but lacked a good variety of vegetables as it consisted mainly of onion, carrots and pork, with a scattering of pineapple chunks, mushrooms and cashew nuts. *** 8⁄2013 *** Actually Pork Cashew is mainly mushrooms once you pluck out the scallions and onions, so if you love mushrooms, here’s an option! But it could do with some additional gravy for the rice. The scallion pancake $ 5.95 was still an okay version for what it was.

Great place to go for lunch break in the Financial District. With a variety of foods that will please anyone’s taste, and a long line of hungry customers, the people working behind the counter know how to handle a business with efficiency and poise. The prices are more than fair and the portions will probably put you to sleep at your desk if you finish it. The pad thai is always a safe choice here, but all the curries are great as well. Daily specials are written on a board; spicy noodle soup and crispy chicken with hot basil sauce. Every once in a while, they fill the board with new dishes that sound incredibly appetizing. So order your Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles or whatever it is that you like. Maybe start off with some Papaya Salad, but definitely end it with the Mango Sticky Rice dessert. Oh lawdddd. That always hits the spot.

I just love when I find a new place! I have been working on the edge of the financial district for about a year and a half. I haven’t found a decent Thai choice in that time until today. To be honest, I haven’t explored the heart of the financial district too much, though. I got the chicken with massaman curry. It was pretty darn good. Not the best I have ever had, but certainly decent. The sauce was tasty, spicy enough and had a decent amount of chicken. My one complaint was that it seemed to have just plain sticky white rice and not Jasmine rice. It wasn’t the cheapest lunch around – it was $ 8.50 for the dish. It was certainly a decent sized portion, though. There is no ambiance in this place… it’s a take out counter with tables. Nothing fancy, just plastic forks and bottles of soda. I will definitely by trying this place again when the itch for Thai food hits me again!
