This place is really unacceptable. They take forever to seat us even though they have so many empty tables throughout the restaurant.

It shouldn’t take one hour for a place to bring out food. Ridiculous. Don’t come here, it’s awful.

Really love this place! The food is really wicked pissah! They have great lunch specials for under 10 bucks… all coming with salad and nice warm rolls. Pizza is really groovy… and old Stinky P’s favorite is the Sporkie. Pasta rocks as well. Service is generally quite fine and and eager to please. Stinky would go here any day! Yum!

This particular Bertucci’s on Merchant’s Row in Boston is close enough from my work to justify having lunch here. I was quite hungry, so I managed to squeeze in a salad, appetizer, and lunch before I had to return to work. Overall, the food was good. Sure, it could have been better, but I’m not super picky about a meal if it isn’t 100% the way I like it. Example: They kinda scorched my Mozzarella Fritta a bit, but it still tasted quite good. All I had to do was trim the burnt edges off. Problem solved. The Caesar salad was decent. I know, I know. Kinda hard to mess up a Caesar salad, but some admittedly ARE better than others… and this one was pretty good. I chose the Shrimp Rossini for dinner(hold the capers). I’m a little reticent paying $ 15.99 for a pasta meal with a few shrimp in it, but this was quite delicious. I actually took the time to count the shrimp to see whether or not they were gonna skimp(…hey, that rhymes) and to their credit, I counted ten shrimp so… not bad. Ten is a respectable amount I would say. Certainly could have been worse. As for service… again, not bad. The hostess asked, «How can I help you today?» I said, «One for lunch, please,» then thought better of what I said because… well, what ELSE would I be going there to do at 1:00pm if not to have lunch? «Yeah, can you rotate the tires on my car and check the transmission, please?» No. The waitress’s name was Cara D and I believe she’s a bartender, pulling double-duty as an afternoon waitress because behind the bar was where she spent most of her time. Cara wasn’t overly talkative, but far from impatient or rude, so overall, no complaints other than maybe with the dinner rolls. This may seem petty, but I had to ASK for the rolls(…usually, they’re the first things that the waitstaff bring their customers). Secondly, they weren’t as warm as they usually are. Again, no biggie, but the warmer the rolls, the better they tend to be. Thirdly, I asked for butter because I don’t like that olive oil dipping sauce that they seemingly bring by default, but when she brought the butter, she brought two small packets of it… for three rolls. Would that third packet have killed her? Again, none of these things ruined my time at Bertucci’s, but when three or four little things happen, they tend to resonate as one big thing in the back of one’s brain. Would I return? Absolutely. The food portions were good, the shrimp count was fair, the salad was good, the unburnt parts of the Mozzarella Fritta were good… and my overall experience there was an enjoyable one.

One one of our favorite pizza places ever. We went here on our first trip to Boston… we have always been impressed by the pizza — great crust, great sauce, really tasty toppings. We would give this a five except the appetizers and desserts are probably more like 3… so it averages out to a 4. We would recommend

Food is great! I think its fair to say so before continuing on with the rest of the comments. However service on the other hand … Well where to start! Besides the topical indiference when one walks into the place, it also follows an annoyance that comes with the task of the staff finding you an appropriate seat. Not sure why this seems to be a reoccurring issue, but it never fails to do so. Last time time we got a seat in this place, we got lucky enough to sit next in a spot where one rubs against you every time they walk by and also you get to feel the cold breeze of winter days as you’re trying to have a cold beer. Let alone as you’re eating the waitress gets to entertain you with her cleaning abilities and her acrobatic skills with the broom and dust pan. This is a front seat live show. You may even get lucky enough to where your feet become part of the show. Sad to say, mine didn’t make it this time, but keeping the spirits up! Lastly, I understand that dealing with many customers can be a dreadful process, and I do say so without any sarcasm. However it becomes slightly unprofessional when you take your bad day out on people who are doing the best to cooperate with you. When people take the time out of their day/night and come in to speed their money, turn it up a notch and pretend to be nice to them. It isn’t dificult, it is just a matter of trying! Anyways, as I’m sure this will get ignored by majority of the staff, hopefully that small percentage which has done a fantastic job in the past, will read it and bring up to others attention. Best of luck!

I’ve been to a lot of Italian restaurants. Mom and Pop, quickie pizza joints, high end places, etc. So why would I go to a chain place with the North End just a short walk away? Consistency. I know for a fact what I’m going to get. A decent(not spectacular) meal and a reasonable price. Could I have gotten a better meal elsewhere? Maybe. But I KNEW it would be yummy here. The staff at this location were very friendly(important for a single diner) and accommodating. I’d have zero qualms about ever going back again. (And now I’m fantasizing about their rolls.)

Didn’t get to eat. We were told the wait would be 10 min. A long 45 min later we were seated. After we were seated, we waited another 15 min without being acknowledged by anyone. We then decided to take our two kids and leave. Before leaving, I asked to speak with the manager. She was very apologetic which was why I changed my review from a 1star to a 3star. The restaurant appeared to be grossly understaffed and everyone was working very hard, however, if the hostess was more honest about the wait time, we would have happily taken our business elsewhere rather than wasting our time on a Saturday night.

Came here for dinner before a concert. We had an amazing server she was friendly and funny! She let us try a special drink on the menu before we ordered it, no charge. She was amazing. The food was very good! Give this place a try. Great location!

Although this is a chain restaurant they have some good & tasty options. They also have a lunch menu which is smaller portion so that helps to not overeat. being able to get rolls & salad is always a plus too. One of the servers Ninja remembered us from being there months ago which was nice since sh’e really fun. They seemed to be pretty busy on this particular weekday for lunch so things took longer than usual. I think getting rolls & salad within 5 minutes shouldn’t be tough but we got it so late that our lunch came soon after.

Celebrating a birthday with 14 years old girls, most of the places were full, except for Bertucci’s, I should have taken the hint! I like this chain, but this one it was bad, besides being dirty, the service was slow and nobody was there! We waited about 15 minutes for 2 glasses of wine, bread came after 20 minutes, not even warm. The red sangria tested like cool aid, requested grated cheese and it took 15 min, we had to take it from other table. Entrees came before the appetizers. Waitress tried hard at the end but too late. Not coming back to this location

I have frequently dined both in and out of various Bertucci restaurants and have always left satisfied. No matter the company I am with, we ALWAYS order a margherita pizza, even if we share with the table. Tonight, I called in an order for a large margherita pizza. I was told it would be ready at 8pm. I arrived at 7:55pm, waited a few minutes and cashed out. I cannot even begin to explain what condition this pizza was in when I arrived home(a short walk through the financial district). The tomato sauce was already seeped through the stale pizza dough, the mozzarella cheese was scabbed on top and the basil sprinkled over my pizza was brown. I took it upon myself to revive my much anticipated dinner by placing it in my own oven in attempt to satisfy my craving. I should’ve known it would only make it worse. I had every seasoning and spice in my cabinets to give something so tasteless some type of appeal. NOTHINGWORKED. Needless to say, I was disappointed. As a former employee of Bertucci’s(and multiple restaurants), I know what food looks like when it was made over an hour ago. Like my pizza. Old. Left under a heat a lamp and«resold» to a customer. This will not stop me from dining at Bertucci’s however, I wouldn’t be caught dead in the Faneuil Hall restaurant.

2-star for the food I got, plus one star for the kid’s menu. The restaurant is in an area full of tourists. When I came in for dinner, the floor was dirty. Like all chain restaurants, service was slow, the portion was huge, the food doesn’t taste Italian to me. They are kids friendly though. My friend said her family goes every week because the little one likes it.

Horrible — AVOID. There are far better Italian places within walking distance of this place. We arrived at 6:00pm and nearly empty — now I know why. We were seated right away. We sat between two round tables of six that were filthy and uncleaned the entire time we were present(about an hour). The wait staff never turned over tables, never cleaned and worst of all, were never around. We waited a good 15 minutes — seriously — before the server came by. In fact, I got up to ask one of the staff at the bar if there were any servers in the restaurant. He said he would send ours by. She finally came without a single apology for the delay. We ordered and the wait began again. No water. No drinks. At least for another 10 to 12 minutes. It was now almost 6:30pm and we still had nothing on the table. Finally, our salad and drinks arrive. Glory hallelujah. Then another 10 minutes or so before a so-so pizza arrives. The server places the food with a single word and doesn’t notice, much less offer to refill my empty Diet Coke. She disappears without a word. We eat. We leave. I asked for the check before we were finished with the pizza because I wasn’t sure we’d ever see this server again and we needed to make a Celtics game. I’m usually a very generous tipper because I respect the work that wait staff does. Not this time. As I said, now I know why this restaurant is EMPTY at the height of dinner hour. Horrible service. Mediocre food. DIRTY. Management totally absent. AVOID.

Work right on top of this place and decided to come here for lunch one day. Lunch specials are pretty worth it since it comes with a salad. Food was okay, typical chain type feel food and heavy on carbs. Worth it if you know what you want! Did feel that service was a tad slow even during a slow weekday lunch but my waiter was nice!

After a trip to Faneuil Hall we stopped in at Bertucci’s for dinner. Since we frequent the Warwick, RI location we knew what to expect food-wise. At about 6:00 it was extremely busy so we waited about 30 minutes for a table for 7. About the time we were seated the restaurant emptied out but the service never seemed to catch up. While our server was nice it was extremely slow. It took a long time to fill our drink orders, our food came out in fits and starts and there were many small errors. Not enough to complain about but annoying. One child received a kids order of spaghetti and meatballs, one the regular size — big difference and of course they noticed. The food was ok but the service was not good.

Good thin flat bread, wood oven pizza. The roasted black olive are great on the pizza. The limoncello margaritas were also very good, although over-priced. But that is where the good parts end. The other pizza toppings were so scarce to be practically non-existent. I could count the pieces of portebello mushroom on one hand. And while the pepperoni was more numerous, no slice had more than 2 pieces. The service was pretty poor. Getting menu, placing the order, getting re-fill for the drinks were all a challenge. The server was friendly and accommodating when she was around.

Not impressive. just another restaurant with a nice little bar. I was told the pizza was really good. Uh… who said so? The pizza was overcooked so they had to redo mine and then it was undercooked but I was starving by the time I got it… and intoxicated because I had to do something while awaiting my meal. The bartender guy was fun. and kinda cute. I could have been a regular while in Boston but first impressions of food are important to me. There is a lot I can compare it too with all my travels. Maybe next time I’m back I’ll give this place another go round. However, I did enjoy the Moscato Sangria. I bought the larger carafe. which was more then I could take. I wound up giving the rest of what I had to the two ladies who came in after me. They had asked what it was but didn’t order it to try, so giving it to them was major cool points if you don’t mind my saying(patting self on back). lol Anyway, maybe something else on the menu would have been better. Next time… Next time for sure.
