Awesome place to watch a game, have a beer and enjoy some food & company. The hummas was delicious and they carried my favorite beer, Lagunitas Lil Sumpin’ Sumpin’ IPA. Located in a beautiful part of downtown Boston, next time I go back north I’ll be stopping in again.

Nice little bar not too far from everything but far enough that it’s mostly locals. It’s also down commonwealth so a really pretty walk. The food was great. Only downside was the service was slow as there was only ONE person behind the bar /waiting on all of the tables. Someone must have called out sick. I’ll go back for sure.

This is a small bar located downstairs from the street. The menu is simple and not overwhelming. I went here for brunch and got the eggs Benedict. They were delicious and served with fresh fruit. Their mimosas are awesome as well and sure to give you a buzz. I’ve also had the wings here. The parm weren’t my favorite but the buffalo were very tasty. Nom Nom. :)

My friend and I are visiting from California and walked in on a whim. Glad we did, the staff is so nice, friendly, and just generally pleasant to talk to. We felt right at home here and ended up staying a while and chatting with them. The bartenders were great and gave us great recommendations for what to do over our weekend here. Not to mention we had the goat cheese pesto sandwich and it was delicious. Definitely a place I would recommend, good vibes.

I BEG please corner pub make the carpaccio and steak tartar something from the standard menu… I find myself daydreaming of it while I should do other things. the service here is wonderful, so friendly and they’re constantly on top of everything. plus they’ve shipyard pumpkinhead on draft this time of year.

Halted in here last night for a spur of the moment dinner outside — happy we did! It was super empty, but hey — they are still new. Bartender was fast with service, as well as the atmosphere here is really chill. The food was way better than I ‘d anticipated — got a couple of apps to share. We’d the white bean dip, pork quesadillas, as well as the chili-lime wings. They were all wonderful! Few buddies met up with us and had a brie-turkey-cranberry sandwich and a Cuban and they both adored theirs as well. Will definitely be back another night after work! The costs are also rather acceptable…

I came here for drinks on a Wednesday night. The bar is located below street level but is pretty easy to find if you look out for the brightly lit signs with its name. They have a pretty standard drink menu with a good selection of draft and bottled beer and cocktails. Prices were pretty standard($ 4.50-$ 7 for beers and $ 11 for cocktails). I tried the full sail session lager($ 6) and my partner had the down east cider($ 7), both of which were quite good. They used to have $ 4 shot specials which they are no longer doing. The staff were friendly and service was good(although it was a slow weekday evening; I’m sure this place fills up on the weekends). We didn’t try the food but from the menu, they have happy hour from 4−6pm ish with $ 5 appetizers, and a late night menu that starts around 11pm.

I went here with my boyfriend and the service was terrible. The guy that was waiting on us was too busy playing legitimate games with the bartender. The prices, food and atmosphere were all good, but I couldn’t believe the service

This place is awesome. Its a fun neighborhood bar with great drinks and excellent service. More importantly, this place has good values. I wasn’t exactly responsible on my visit but they did the right thing. I will be back next time I’m in Boston.

Corner Tavern was a good place to grab a bite to eat and watch a game via DirecTV’s NFL package. They have about a dozen smaller TVs that they’re happy to change to the game you want to watch. The 2 servers were friendly and efficient. Beer selection was reasonably good, and we enjoyed the nachos(although I’m not a fan of cheese whiz) and the meatloaf burger, which was actually a burger made with a thick slice of meatloaf. I’m not sure why I expected something different. This will definitely be my new place for watching games away from the bigger and rowdier sports bars on Boylston Street or in the Fenway.

Back Bay is full of tourist traps, Corner Tavern is not one of them. It’s my favorite bar in the area. Good crowds, excellent atmosphere, wether you’re here to socialize or watch a game. They have a couple of TV’s and they’re not intrusive so you can, you know, actually talk to someone without feeling like you have to combat explosions of sensory information from all corners. In that sense it’s an old school bar. The food is excellent. Mushroom flatbread is a favorite. The sandwiches are also quality. For your side always go with the pesto pasta.

Stopped in for a quick pint while checking out my husband’s grandfather’s childhood neighborhood. Sheeh, what a mouthful. They have a good beer selection and a cool spot. I liked that you can people’s shoe watch. I bet this place is hopping on a Friday night. The flatbread was good, we ordered the wild mushroom and truffle flatbread and it was gone as fast as it come to the table. It made me especially happy because they were playing Star Trek TNG episodes with subtitles. They have a lot of TVs, so if you like sports I’m sure they can put your game on. I will keep this place in mind for our next trip to Boston!

I was looking for some chicken wings and this little gem came up as being close and having good food. I went in looking for some standard bar chicken wings and the bartender talked me into their Memphis BBQ wings and WOW, what an excellent suggestion. These are slow roasted, then baked crisp wings that literally fall off the bone and the dry rub BBQ flavor is a joy to the palette! I can’t wait to go back. The service was excellent, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was very«local». I loved it! If you are a wing aficionado and anywhere close, it is worth the trip. Don’t wait, do it, do it now!

Visited the Corner Tavern when I was in New England to bury some relatives ashes. Used the great public bike system to get around Boston from Fenway to the Harbor. There’s a bike station about a block away from the restaurant. The great reviews of the meatloaf burger led me here and it was good but it was not really all that big and the price has gone up to $ 15. The spicy ketchup was good. Was trying to be healthy and probably made a mistake by ordering the mixed green salad as the side. The greens were fresh but the salad dressing was way too tangy/sour. Couldn’t finish it. The bartenders were friendly and good conversation can be had with fellow bar patrons. Would consider going back to try something else…

Holy cow… if U want a HUGE meal, get the meatloaf burger… it’s comes with bacon, cheese, and a spicy ketchup… and it was awesome… it’s also worth the extra $ 2 to upgrade to the tater tots for Ur side… I mean, find a restaurant these days that does tater totals… and the Allagash White was a perfect beer mate.

If you had to make a soundtrack to your life, what songs would be included on the list? Everybody knows this game, and it’s not easy. Somehow, it has to be able to capture the volatility of you while you go through different life phases, yet be able to tell the story of growing up: From the rebellious teen who steals cheap beer from their uncles’ basement so they can drive buzzed up around the local neighborhood in a beat up Chevy, turned college frat boy who convinces thinks 6 tequila shots chased with bud pitchers is a fantastic idea, to the 30s something who tries to get the bartender to put a sour gose on tap, because, come on, I’m a regular, this bar tells exactly that story: This biker bar hole-in-the wall, turned frat bar, to designated local joint, this bar is a must to check out. Atmosphere: First of all, it’s sub-street level [which I already like], cozy and inviting. Sit yourself down at the bar to watch the game or the triple crown race, grab a bite off of their surprisingly inspired and higher end food for affordable prices [believe me, I will make my way through this menu] or learn how to play backgammon on a rainy Sunday afternoon. TVs around, amber lighting, juke box for most music tastes. [play something good, and preferably not a 40 minute phish song or ‘what does the fox say’ — the bartenders will not be happy with you]. Just an overall chill environment. Drinks: Craft beers on tap, local domestics or out of state, rotated for the season; my current go-to is the Dogfishhead Aprihop [7% ABV, amber pour, off-white head, light hoppiness], but your standards drafts are there as well. Drinks are mid and top shelf, medium strong pours, slightly oversized shots. Specials include $ 4PBR tallboys, for all you wannabe hipsters who read Wikipedia, and a $ 4 shots special. Service is quick and friendly. Food: Regular, Brunch or late night or late night, it’s sophisticated pub food [is that a thing?] I missed brunch for my first Sunday visit so they haven’t passed my Eggs Benedict challenge, but the Short Rib Sandwich more than adequately made up for it. Amazingly juicy, a great portion for a hungry German girl or enough to share. It comes with garlic mashed potatoes on the sandwich [I come from a land of fries on a sandwich — I’m cool with this] which softens the taste of the horseradish Dijon and Blue Cheese. Be sure to get this with the sundried tomato and basil pasta salad. For snacks make sure to try to Pork Quesadillas or the Dips [and please do the math: 1 for 7, 3 for 10]. Thursday’s there’s a $ 2 taco special that I will be coming back for. Generous portions, great taste. Extras: Staff is quite down to earth, entertaining and helpful if you need them to be [being new to Boston I got a good insight of the city and what to do]. Also, they may be able to steer you in the right direction of finding a great new song for that soundtrack your putting together. All in all a great package of a bar and I’m pretty excited to designating it to be my neighborhood favorite.

Went here with a friend to grab a quick bite to eat before going out on a Saturday night. The bar area was pretty packed, but we were able to grab a booth in the back of the restaurant. After perusing through the menu, we decided to split the reuben and the rosalita. Both sandwiches were tasty, though I have to say that the rosalita was my favorite between the two. Each sandwich came with a side – we got pasta salad and a side of greens. The greens were very bland, but the pasta salad was a nice addition. Overall, the food here is quality, very well-priced(under $ 20 for both sandwiches), and the service is quick and friendly. Worth checking out as a casual dining option/watering hole.

I truly wasn’t sure what to expect out of Corner Tavern, and still don’t think I got the full feel. The location is perfect, right on Mass Ave near Newbury, but away from the crowds. Not only distance wise, but it is hidden tucked away in a basement part of an apartmnet building. It is very discrete and you would most certainly miss it walking by, had you not known to look for it. I enjoy the mystery. Once inside, it feels like your typical small bar. It is cozy, with limited seating, dark lights, and a laid back feel. The music stood out to me as being interesting, but not something I expected for this type of bar. I either expected throwback 70’s or indie music, and the music playing was just neither, nor something I can really classify. When I came, I was about 15 min early waiting for a friend. I think the staff knew this, as they took their time coming to me, but they did make sure if I needed anything or not. It was dead. It was about 630 on a Tuesday night, in the dead of the winter. The menu is a typical bar menu, but everything looked so very appealing. Of coarse, I ran into my typical problem of wanting too much, not saying no to my mind, and just ordering everything I wanted. So yes, I got the tatertots AND the grilled cheese. The tatertots come in a HUGE portion. It would have been enough for a party of 5, nevermind just myself… and with getting another meal. I also got the grilled cheese with cheddar cheese just plain. Given the plain order, it still didn’t have much flavor. It was a good grilled cheese with the right butterness to the bread, the perfect melt ratio of the cheese. It just lacked the sharp kick I normally expect with a cheddar. Regardless, it is hard to impress me on a grill cheese, and lets just say I wasn’t not impressed. But back to the tater tots… they were phenomenal! It is the prefect cozy, mysterious bar. the perfect place to meet someone for drinks, in a low key, relaxed, and good food atmosphere.

Atmosphere is a 3. Not your typical«dive bar.» It’s not the best place to go to see the locals in their natural habitat, it’s just a divey type of bar downstairs in a very affluent neighborhood. If you want to go to a locals bar, hit up Bukowski’s. That said, the food here gets 5+ stars. The pear arugula salad and tomato basil soup were outstanding. Worth the price($ 12 for the salad), which is a little high for a supposed dive bar. What kind of dive bar has pear arugula salads anyway? I’d come here again, just for the food.
