GNC stores are typically on my list of «why even bother?» stores. This one, however, far exceeded my expectations! After winning a coupon for some products on an online giveaway they did, I went in to redeem my $ 60 worth of stuff. Both guys were super helpful and courteous. They had me try a few different things, hooked me up with free home shipping for the item they were out of stock of, gave me a free Gold Card, and offered me a VIP line-​cutting pass to meet a Patriots player. I wasn’t even buying anything, and they still gave A+ service. Couldn’t be happier. Definitely makes me more likely to go back!

This particular GNC store just opened after relocating from their previous store front located at 84 Summer. I headed in earlier today to check up on some dietary supplements and vitamins to aid me in my quest to have my broken foot heal faster than medical science has predicted. I’m an optimist, what can I say?
I hobbled in and there was one GNC employee manning the register of the small store. It is a tight space, but packed floor to ceiling with all sorts of vitamins, supplements, protein powders, etc. The signage above each section makes it very easy to navigate to the section you are looking for. After finishing up a transaction on his register, Josue walked over and asked me if he could help with anything. Considering I had been staring at labels blankly, it was a fair assumption I needed help. We started to discuss weight loss supplements and I indicated my broken foot and said that my exercise régime had been put on hold and that I was looking for a supplement that would curb hunger, but also provide me with some nutrients too. He had a lot of suggestions, citing products that he thought were a sham (HCG) and others that he used himself successfully. We talked about my upcoming wedding and he gave me a high-​five. I liked this guy. I picked out a supplement and we moved on to the topic of my broken foot.
I told him that I was on naproxin and he knew it was for anti-​inflammatory purposes. He asked if I was on calcium (I said yes) and then asked if I was on fish oil (I said no). He said that fish oil was great for joints and considering my foot joint is badly damaged it can’t hurt. He then sold me on it by telling me that it was great for my skin and nails and that was important for «the big day.» It wasn’t anything I didn’t know already, but he did a great job giving me advice and not coming across as a pushy salesman.
FInally, when I was checking out, he gave me a Gold Card for free (thus giving me a 20% discount) and honored a coupon that I had printed from a coupon website for an additional $ 10.00 off the transaction. Also, he made me aware that there is a no questions asked return policy on any of the products… and I quote, «If you take it home, put it on the shelf and it doesn’t match the wallpaper… bring it back in.» Definitely look for Josue if you stop in this location. Great customer service!
