Hair Stylist Kayoko

Great service provided by Kayoko. I got a hair cut and digital perm, she would listen to you and discuss to you so she knows you exactly what you want. I paid total of $ 180, I think it’s very reasonable.

I knew I wanted to get a digital perm, but all the reputable salons in Boston (especially in Back Bay) seemed to have exorbitantly high prices. Thank goodness I found Kayoko! She is a Japanese stylist who worked in Tokyo for a decade and then worked at what is now Defi on Newbury Street for several years before starting her own business. She operates solo and rents space from Da Da Hair Studio six days a week. From what I understand, she travels to customers’ homes as well.
My experience was absolutely amazing. Kayoko first gave me a shampoo and cut, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a hair stylist as skilled as Kayoko! She was moving her hands super fast, and when she was done, everything fell into place perfectly. I’m definitely going back to her for my regular haircuts.
The perm was great as well. I wasn’t quite sure what kind of shape I wanted, but Kayoko understood that I wanted something more natural. She also gave me a ton of styling and maintenance tips, which I appreciated a ton. I was really pleased with the results, as well as the price for the haircut + digital perm: $ 167 (which included a 10% discount, just for being a first-​time customer). What?! I’m pretty sure it would have cost me at least $ 250 at Mie Higashimoto, for my length of hair. Anyway, I think it’s a shame that Kayoko hasn’t gotten the Unilocal buzz that she deserves, because she’s really awesome… quite possibly the best hair stylist I’ve encountered in my entire life. I’d highly recommend her to both men and women!
