Great place to grab lunch during the week on the go! Sandwiches never disappoint!

Getting breakfast with a 1.5 hour commute can be a real pain. I used to work right across the street from this place and it made everything SO much easier and better. For $ 7 I get three eggs, a heaping portion of home fries, three sausage links, and wheat toast. You just really can’t beat that kinda price in this area. To top it off, the eggs are cooked exactly right(having tried scrambled and over easy from them), the home fries are spiced well enough to be tasty but not be overly spiced, the toast is well buttered, and they don’t use the overly flavored breakfast sausage a lot of places use. They use good sausage. It’s good enough that, even though the company I work at has moved, I still make an effort to get there when I’m craving a really good breakfast. It takes me about 20 – 25 minutes, but I still do it. I’m a big guy and I can eat a good amount. But, I’m sometimes hard pressed to finish the entire thing(though not for lack of trying). They also have the usual sandwiches and they make omelettes both preset and custom ingredients. Their coffee is pretty good and there is something about their hazelnut coffee that I love. In truth, I haven’t fully explored their lunch menu, but the meals I’ve had were pretty good. But, really it’s the breakfast that shines out. They are one of the few places that does a good quick breakfast and they have extremely competitive pricing.

Went here to grab a bite to eat for lunch on a weekday. I was walking through St. James Place and noticed that they had a Shepherds pie special, so I decided to give it a try. The shepherds pie was definitely a large portion, especially for the price($ 8), but the flavor was a little underwhelming. It was decent, but nothing that has me coming back for more. The staff was very friendly and the service was super efficient. As it was a little later in the lunch rush, there was plenty of space to sit as I was able to sprawl out at a table by myself.

Great coffee, awesome staff, and the closest you’ll get to a NYCBEC(bacon, egg, and cheese) in Boston!

Tons of options. Ask for something not on the menu and they might even make it for you. Get the Shepherd’s Pie on Thursdays. Tons of food for the price.

It seems like the sandwiches here are pretty good, but everything else is just gross. I ordered the chicken teriyaki off their«homemade meals» board or whatever they call it. The chicken was dry and brown all the way through. I have no idea how long it was sitting in sticky teriyaki sauce but it was BAD. No veggies or anything either, just sits on top of greasy off-yellow rice. Oh it also came with a giant bulkie roll that fell on the floor when I pulled out the to-go carton. Servers were rude and rushed everyone. I wish I had gone next door instead

I would really like to frequent this place. They have ample seating so you can have a civilized sit-down lunch. It is your old-fashioned coffee shop/greasy spoon. Boston used to have tons of them but they are just about gone. I’ve given this place several tries over the last 4 years because I work nearby. I have to say, unless I want coffee, I’m done(They have DownEast brand which I like). Egg dishes have been greasy. The egg dishes are served with home fries and toast but when you order, you are asked if you want the home fries and toast. If you say No, you still pay as though you had said yes. I’ve never understood that. If someone is on a low-carb diet, they should be able to order bacon and eggs a la carte. But don’t ask people if they want those items and then charge them the same price… For lunches, I’ve tried American Chop Suey, which was nothing more than spaghetti sauce and some macaroni and soggy beef. Sheperd’s Pie had tasteless, institutional mashed potatoes. The Mac and cheese I had today was horrible; very dry, not creamy at all. Honestly, the box Kraft version would have been better. I do like their chix and tuna salad. I haven’t tried their subs. But I don’t want to go somewhere and just be limited to sandwiches; I would love a place that had really well-made comfort foods. I unfortunately agree with many of the posters here about wilted lettuce, greasy food, etc. I like the owner very much and wish they would turn their entrees around, or else, just take them off the menu and do sandwiches. Prices are good, portions generous, but neither of these are helpful when the food is sub-par.

Really want to like this place, but too often, they don’t really seem to care. Got a chicken caesar wrap at lunch, which I’ve gotten before and thought pretty decent. They warm up the chicken, which you’re not really supposed to do in a caesar wrap, but whatever. First time I had it, it was dry and very light on the dressing, but good otherwise. Today, the guy hastily threw the thing together, grabbing a bag of romane, cutting off the tip of a stalk, and throwing the leaves in without washing anything. He adds a handful of crutons, a dollop of dressing and a handful of the chicken, then kind of folds it over before wrapping it in the paper. When I open it, it falls back to being a folded-over wrap. I mean, he didn’t even wrap the wrap. More than half the chicken was too chewy/fatty to eat, so I had to pluck it out. Lettuce was chewy. Not much dressing. Cost $ 8.50 with a bag of chips, which isn’t a bad price for a wrap, but waaay too much for whatever this was. Edit: Aaaaand I just threw up, two hours later. Don’t go here.

This place is easy, quick and pure capitalism at it’s finest. Just think, a perfect location in an office complex, across the street from a major insurance conglomerate, with more offices in the near area. Prices become on par with neighboring establishments. The patrons are friendly and can easily have a banter with you, which is always pleasing. However, that is where the similarities end between this establishment and others. The food is very sub-par. At the wholesale markets early in the morning, top restaurants and hotels will get the pick of the crop, then it goes on and on, until you’re whittled down to the very last dregs. The yellow and white lettuce, no green let alone deep green color to it. The tasteless tomatoes, the mega vats of over produced mayonnaise. Bacon that is 99.9% fat, but they will over fry it to mask the fat etc. In essence, they will charge a reasonable rate, for food that shouldn’t even cost half the amount, simply because the quality is just bad. Minimal spending for them, maximum profits for them. All I can say is that it is «okay», and just about edible, but I am sure my stomach is crying for the vast pile of rubbish in it… There are many places around that are better.

Really convenient place I call this the grease spot. I ordered vegetarian as mystery meat doesn’t suit me well. I like the veggie wrap but it’s was defiantly a grease spoon kind of dish and load with cheese which my body doesn’t take to kindly to. It was easy to order from them and it was worth trying. For steak and cheese lifers I think you’d enjoy it. Their chicken cutlet is great on a baguette and the owner is very nice.

Went back for the first time after living in CA for two years. Ordered my go-to breakfast sandwich: bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. Just as good as I remembered. Not a pre-processed slab that just goes in the microwave, but honest-to-goodness food, and delicious.

I’m giving this place a 4 because the owner is awesome and it’s one of the only place in the area I can snag a decent, blue collar-style sub for like $ 6. Sure, it’s not the cleanest looking place. Nor are the counter staff all that friendly.

The prices are the best in the building. $ 5 for a corned beef sandwich — not bad. The service is good. Quick, friendly staffers and apologetic if they make a mistake. The food, though, is right down the middle. Not bad, not great. The corned beef left something to be desired, and it was really only save by the toppings of chopped pickles and hot peppers. The roll could’ve been a tad better too. All in all, I’d go back to try something else just based on price alone, but I wouldn’t go crazy trying to get back.

Honestly, the food here isn’t anything to write home about. It’s OK at best. The service, however, is great. The guys that run this place are so fun and charming. I always walk out smiling. I come here mostly for breakfast. They have a ton of bagel options and hot sandwiches.

I’ve worked in the Back Bay for 2 years, and I eat here all the time. Chicken Salad is a my regular choice, and the deli meat and clubs are both solid. You can’y beat this place for the price, speed, location. I will say, stay away from the things that need actual cooking. For example, the Chicken Parm is down right awful. That said, the Meatloaf Sub is pretty damn good…

Once upon a time I used to eat here often, then I changed jobs and wound up downtown and somehow, I forgot all about this lunch spot. Now that I’m back working in the Copley area, I’m glad my memory was jogged. Really, it’s hard to get a decent, reasonably-priced sandwich in the Back Bay. Sometimes you really do just want something basic like pastrami or bologna. Park Square has been filling this need for a long time. Newsflash foodies: sometimes basic really isn’t bad. There’s something to be said for traditional lunch food prepared in a traditional way, not everything has to be fancy. This place is the 3 F’s…fast, friendly and efficient. They have a plethora of options to choose from and you’re in and out fast. They have a decent drink selection for the Snapple-lover and moreover, they have woopie pies. I challenge you to find a woopie pie anywhere else nearby. I recommend a hot pastrami with swiss cheese and brown mustard on an onion roll. Basic deli goodness. Nom, nom, nom. And wicked hard to find nowadays. And best of all, I’ve never spent over 10 bucks here… never and in a neighborhood that likes to shake down the corporate lunch crowd of their every last dime, that’s a nice change.

I eat breakfast here regularly, and it’s just perfect. Real eggs, fast service, and the guys behind the counter treat me like a regular. This feels like a small town shop in a big city, and it does the trick for me.

A nice change from the normal, passion-less, push the business lunchers through deli/café. I’m from the Midwest and this place makes me feel like home. The eastern European men behind the counter, always have a joke and a smile, and the service is quick without sacrificing taste. I have to disagree with Matt K. I JUST(literally this minute) finished a Greek Pita Pocket– and yes it is literally a garden salad with heaping scoops of feta and Greek dressing– and it was DELICIOUS. easy, fast„ filling, and fun. If you want more in it they are more than obliging and for $ 5 I am definitely more satisfied that I would be if I had gone to SubWay or SuperSalad(neighbors and competitors)

This place is mostly fine. Their tuna salad is really good and most of their hot sandwiches are great. HOWEVER: there are some things to avoid without question: — They something have a special ‘BBQ pulled pork’ which seems to be cubed roast pork in BBQ sauce. Nasty. — DONOTORDER A GREEKSALADPOCKET. ITIS A PILEOFLETTUCEWITHFETACHEESEIN A POCKET.
