If you make an appointment don’t expect it to be on time we waited 4 hours while walk ins just walked in

In the light of what has happened yesterday in Colorado, I cannot say more positive feedback about the quality of services offered by planned parenthood. One must understand that planned parenthood is more than abortion. I went there because, as an international student, between my undergrad and graduate year, I was not able to have a health insurance. They provided me with the basic services needed at the lowest costs including my yearly exam and birth control. Going against planned parenthood is going against women especially those who can’t afford visits to specialists. I donated today and encourage everyone to donate a little to this organization that has been under fire recently.

I can’t say enough positive things about this Planned Parenthood. The security guard/​man who protects the door was really nice and patient, even though he must have answered the same questions 109 times that day. The receptionist was really sweet as well as well as informative. The nurse responded to most of my questions as well and the clinician was very informative. I really liked everyone there! It was a bit of a wait as some of the comments said but you have to remember the organization is severely under funded and serves a large group of people and tries to give quality care. Thank you to all your employers, they are all of great quality, every single one of them!

I went in yesterday for an IUD procedure and was so nervous! The staff was so amazing and made me feel more knowledge about all my options before we started. My technician was incredible and made me feel at ease even when the pain was a bit intense. She even wiped my tears away after the procedure was over! This Planned Parenthood branch has always been fantastic. Thank you!

Had few tests done here. All came negative within a weeks time. The staff are very nice and welcoming. I would’ve given it 5 but they’ve mailed me my results despite telling them I needed the results via call for privacy concerns but no hard feelings :)

While visiting home I needed an appointment for birth control… All the GYN’s I tried to see were booked and just didn’t work in my short time frame. My sister told me to try planned parenthood. I called and they had an appointment the very same day!
We went in and just a warning to the ladies you WILL have to deal with some anti abortion people out front and they can be very pushy! My sister accompanied me the appointment and she told one protester that everyone who visits PPH isn’t coming for an abortion and he yelled back… YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A HEARTBEAT IN THERE! it was harsh! I would feel bad for anyone going in for those services, to have to deal with that type of harassment during a difficult time so please prepare yourself.
One good thing is that once your in the building it’s very secure, the security greets you and will take you through a medical detector. Once you get inside it’s a very calm and quiet atmosphere. I signed in and gave the receptionist my insurance card and sat down after she processed everything.
Once it was time for my appointment I was warmly greeted by the medical assistant who took me to the back and gave me instructions, she took me to take my blood and the women who did that was extremely pleasant.
Once that was done the Doctor came in and we talked about my procedure, she told me what to expect and wanted to make sure I was well informed. I got the copper IUD named paraguard. I don’t like hormones so I opted for this. The doctor made me so comfortable throughout the entire process. I have never had children so the insertion was very painful! The doctor was nice enough to keep speaking to me while she did the entire procedure to take my mind off of what I was feeling. After about ten minutes I was done.
When I tell you I’ve never been treated better at any medical center I mean it! The staff at PPH are absolutely amazing!!! Thank you ladies for making such a painful procedure a better experience with your professional and warm customer service.
FYI — fast forward two months later and my IUD hasn’t given me any problems. I know this is such a detailed review but I hope this review helps someone.

Today was my first visit at this location and I have to say, it was really great. I didn’t know that this facility offered services for men and it does. The staff is very friendly and confidentiality is very important here. Like previous reviews, there is a security guard at the front door and you immediately feel like you’re entering a very safe zone.
My appointment was at 1:25 and I didn’t see someone until 2pm. I was just there for a general screening and it took me a little over an hour. So Althou it took some time, it was well worth it. I definitely have to say everyone that works here is so great and so humble.
I would recommend anyone to go here. I think it generally gets more crowded during the afternoons so try going in earlier?

Please don’t be put off by the protestors outside– the staff is extremely good about making sure they don’t bother you. There is also security right inside the building, which helps too!
My wait time was quite long, about 45 minutes total, even though I had an 11AM appointment. Overall, the nurse and doctor I saw were both very friendly, knowledgable, professional, and made me feel comfortable at all times. My appointment was for birth control, and lasted only about 15 minutes. No pap required. Quick, easy and painless! Would definitely recommend this planned parenthood.

I went to this location for the first time recently for a pap smear. I was a bit nervous about going to a Planned Parenthood because of the protesters you’ll usually find hanging around. Despite my initial nervousness, it was a really nice experience. The entire staff was really friendly and welcoming, and I immediately felt comfortable once inside. The doctor I saw did her job quickly and professionally, but she still seemed genuinely interested in talking through any problems I had. I brought a concern to her, and she explained her thoughts about it, how we’d check it out, etc., and really put my mind at ease. Even though it was the end of the business day, I never felt rushed. I’d definitely visit again.

On the plus side:
— easy scheduling
— empathetic nurses and doctors, spend time with you and strive to do their best in absence of any equipment
On the flip side:
— NOBODY EVER CALLS YOU BACK with your test results and prescription info.
If you missed their call with test results, you will never ever get to speak with a nurse. The receptionists on the phone are telling you they dont have any information and the nurse will of course call back — and guess what, after I called there 2 times nobody took the time to call back within 5 DAYS!!!
Ultimately, what matters is that you get your treatment on time and not just schedule a visit with ease.
Can’t be more disappointed — waste of time and money it seems. And my UTI has gotten worse and I cant even get help from them, what a callous service.
Also, if you require anything more than just exam and very basic tests, don’t bother, the clinic provides just very basic services and lacks even ultrasound equipment, which is alright I think — if you ultimately manage to squeeze any information from them after your visit.

After I wrote this review, Planned Parenthood reached out to me with a very nice little note, and it made me feel a whole lot better. I will be giving them another shot next time something’s up with my uterus, my vagina, my ovaries, my fallopian tubes, my boobs, or any other of my super-​awesome female parts.

I had an IUD insertion at this location this evening and am happy to report a five-​star experience. I was very nervous about pain, and everyone who attended to me was honest but soothing about what my experience would be. All of the office and medical staff were very present and took the time to listen and make me feel heard. I never felt like I was being rushed and, most importantly, felt that my autonomy and ability to make my own decisions about my body were 100% respected.
I booked my appointment over the phone and had no trouble. Everyone was totally helpful every step of the way. The clinic is clean and well-​guarded, and I didn’t come across any protestors when I went on a Tuesday evening just before 6pm.

I got a new insurance plan and got kind of overwhelmed trying to choose a new OBGYN from the list of providers (kind of a crap shoot, isn’t it?), so I figured I’d just go here, thinking it’d be more convenient…
I made an appointment over the phone and couldn’t be seen for a MONTH since I work during the weekdays. so yeah, that already sucked, but that’s fine, they are busy, I can understand that.
But when I got to my appointment a month later, I arrived 15 minutes early and HAD TO WAIT FOR OVER 2 HOURS!!! I was SO annoyed and just wanted get the hell out of there, but after waiting a month, I wasn’t about to leave.
Mind you, I was in for a routine pap and birth control refills. so pretty routine stuff that shouldn’t take too long. It was a good 2 hours 40-​some minutes by the time I got out of there, WITH an appointment made a MONTH in advance!!!
1 star is for the really good NP who treated me, but everyone else here SUCKS. This place SUCKSSSSS!

Everyone has always been very polite and helpful.
Don’t expect to just be able to roll in and leave quickly. Be sure to give yourself at least 3 hours wiggle room for an appointment. Better safe than sorry.
I’m not going to knock any stars for being slow because I know this is an organization that could use better help and funding and I don’t think it’s fair to hold it against them.

Have had to visit here over the years for Various Services… They are the best place, Very Professional… Very Discreet…
One word of advice, go early in the am for appts… They get busy & behind more as the day rolls on & dont mind the protesters, they are pretty harmless…

I’ll admit to feeling a little anxious visiting a Planned Parenthood; all I ever heard about it were news reports about abortion protesters, and now, of course, the controversy over government funding.
I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been to this PP location twice now (once for *very* affordable birth control and once for an annual pap smear), and both times I felt safe and welcomed. The building is staffed by a security guard, and once you pass through the entrance the waiting area is clean and well-​lit (and contains more guys than you would expect).
The staff (from receptionists to clinicians) have been nothing but courteous to me. I felt like they were there to help, and what’s more, I never felt rushed; during both visits I was encouraged to ask questions and offered additional services (like the HPV shot or STD testing) while I was in the office. I think it’s so important that people be informed about their health options, and PP has clearly made it their mission to educate.
I’m holding back the fifth star because their online booking system is kind of a mess. If you sign up for an appointment they get back to you within 24 hours by e-​mail, which means if you’re at work and can’t check your e-​mail, you may miss the appointment time they assign you or not have enough time to get there (which happened to me).
I’d highly suggest booking an appointment over the phone — if you call around 8 am you can request a same-​day appointment, or schedule one a few days in advance.

This gets 4 stars because the clinician got was so nice. She was incredibly friendly and she did a really great job. She was very thorough and explained everything and seemed to really like her job. I didn’t wait at all, the facilities were clean, and the nurses were nice, too. I’ll definitely use their services again.
But, if you want cheap, affordable women’s health care, don’t go to Planned Parenthood in Massachusetts. Despite my insurance not covering any OBGYN visits, I had to pay full price, upfront, with no payment plan. It cost the same as if I went to a private OBGYN! When I asked them about getting an IUD put in, they told me that because of the laws in MA requiring basically everyone to have health insurance, especially students, I would not be put on a sliding scale and I’d be required to pay upfront $ 500. It is VERY HARD to get around this — you have to somehow be a resident without health insurance. If your insurance doesn’t cover it, they still wont consider you.
Out of curiosity, I called the Planned Parenthood near my family out of state and they said it was illegal for them to deny someone care because they cannot pay — with or without insurance. So this changes state by state apparently.
Now, I get it. I get it’s the laws the state puts on them, and it’s frustrating and it isn’t fair. But just so you readers know, you will most likely pay $ 200 for a basic annual with no STD testing.
The ladies at the front desk and the check-​out counter were meh. They seemed really bored, like they really hated their jobs and their lives. I wasn’t trying to make their jobs harder by asking 100 questions, but isn’t that their jobs in the first place?
Anyways — I left not feeling disturbed. I got my annual done and that was that. I’ll definitely go back again — If I can afford it.
**Editing my review after visiting the Planned Parenthood in Derry, New Hampshire. If you need ANY OBGYN care and you can go, MAKE THE TRIP TO DERRY. They completely trumped this place.

PP provides an amazing, valuable, valuable service, without a doubt. I respect what they do and I totally respect the clinicians who work there. They are all incredibly nice, completely willing to answer questions, and non-​judgemental. They very clearly care about women’s health and I’ve had better experience at PP then at OB/​GYNs.
I do not respect the people who work at the front desk here. They are either unwilling or unable to answer questions about the appointment and billing. If you are asking questions and ask too many, they become obstinate in being unhelpful. If you don’t have health insurance, they won’t tell you that you can bring in four previous pay-​stubs and be put on the sliding-​scale. So I’m telling you: IF YOU DON“T HAVE INSURANCE: BRING 4 PAYSTUBS AND YOU CAN BE PUT ON THE SLIDING SCALE FOR PAYMENT!
Also, in an overall effort to avoid the intake people, it’s better to book your appointment online. You can actually get a reminder then as well, which I was told they won’t do if you book over the phone. BOOK ONLINE!
One security guy is awesome and does a great job. He looks in your purse before letting your through the metal detector, and will hold your camera and ask that you not open your drink while in the building. It feels very safe. The other guy is super lax and won’t even check inside your bag.
Overall, I love planned parenthood. I’ve loved them in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida. If they could automate everything so you never had to talk to the intake people, it would be a completely wonderful experience (as far as health care goes, that is.)

This place is in a great location. Accessible to many, and has fairly good hours of operation.
I came here alone for my own needs, and brought/​accompanied a bunch of my friends throughout my teenage years.
Security was always high– especially after the bombings in the 90’s. There are a number of protesters (usually mid-​week) who hang around on the sidewalk.
I got more information from the doctors here than I could ever get from my regular doctors. I found out what prescriptions I shouldn’t take since I have Epilepsy — something that NOBODY HAD EVER MENTIONED to me at all. Horrible.
This place was always clean, and everybody was really respectful, and helpful. I definitely have suggested this place to all of my friends, and will continue to!
