service was subpar. didnt give me my beer. my custard was melted by the time served. tables were dirty. but lets get down to business, ill just disregard the service and just focus on the burger. i got the stacked shack. it tasted good, but it was devoid of textures. it just felt like glop in my mouth. the bun just blended into the pattie and tomatoes. i tasted the cheese mushroom but there wasnt enough specialiness. fries were dry. custard was overwhelming. i guess food was good, but theres too many things shake shack could do better. too much room for improvement. hands down in n out and 5 guys are way above shake shack for fast food burger. best thing here was the beer, but they didnt make that.

The relatively new chicken sandwich is giving chickfila a run for its money at $ 6.50, a bit more expensive than the fast food joint. The chicken breast is fried to order, juicy, and piping hot, while not giving off that greasy fried food sheen. The ranch mayo and thick cut pickles are heavenly with the soft bun. Fries are always good but the quantity between orders isn’t always standard. There’s usually a line to order that’s dotted with a few runners for Favors, but it goes by quickly.

I’m sorry… What? I really don’t understand why this place is so popular. These burgers are TINY. For $ 7 each, they were SO much smaller and less special than I believed for the hype it gets in the East Coast… With $ 7, I can get 2 double doubles at In N Out and be much more satisfied. I’ve tried Shake Shack in New York a couple years ago and I don’t remember being this disappointed by the burger taste and flavor, so maybe it’s just this location? The ‘shroom burger is meatless and has a cheese stuffed, deep fried portobello mushroom as the«patty». It was a little too fried for me and the mushroom was super chewy to the point where I couldn’t bite a piece off. The SmokeShack had bacon but no tomato or lettuce and was, again, very small. The strawberry shake just tastes like a milkshake you can get anywhere… And probably for a lot cheaper. Seriously, don’t bother coming. It’s NOTWORTHTHEHYPE.

I sent Shake Shack an email regarding my experience and I appreciate the gift card they sent! I’ll bump them up to 3 stars just for that. That being said, my impressions didn’t change much… still extremely slow service, and they messed up my order(a mushroom on top of my burger? I certainly didn’t want that). Summary: It’s not to say that the burgers are not tasty, but this is a tourist trap for people who are willing to spend 1+ hours on lunch. Go to UBurger or even Tasty Burger if you want a fast, delicious and less expensive burger.

I LOVE Shake Shake. But somebody please hire a manager who can staff up this location! Busy lunch hour in the back bay and there is only one register open, and 4 other employees preparing food? With 50 people in line, the wait times are a nightmare. Rebecca’s in Copley square handles this many people exceptionally well and is a well oiled machine. Shake shake manager– please staff up!

Nope, NopeNopeNope. That will be my response for this place after experiencing it just one time. This place is an utter rip off and absolutely not worth the money(More importantly, reviews say this is a fair price? I beg to differ) I was encouraged by friends to try this place out as an experience, and what I left with was disappointment, an empty wallet, and an empty stomach for what I put down on a meal here. I ordered a Chocolate Milk Shake, A Burger, A Chicken Sandwich, & A Cheese Fry. $ 21.50 and the servings sizes were so small and ingredients were so cheap for the price. Frozen Crinkle Fries, Soggy Tomatoes, Rabbit Leaf Lettuce, Velveeta Cheese, White Buns, Kraft American Cheese, High Fructose Pickles, Processed Sauces, and barley 12 oz’s of Hershey Ice Cream. To boot: If I’m paying $ 6.50 for a burger the size of a baseball(unless I’m at Fenway Park), I shouldn’t need to ask to include Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles and Onions. It should be just there. Plain and simple. I find it highly disrespectful it’s not for the price. If I wanted just some meat between two buns for $ 6.50, I would have just stayed home and had sex with my girlfriend. It would have been cheaper and a far more exciting experience. I seriously ask this: What in the hell is the appeal here? Can someone explain it to me? It’s beyond me that people wait in lie here for 20 – 25 mins given what I paid for what I got(Which is what I did, and oh how foolish I was to do so.) Needless to say, I’m upset I paid that much for what I got. It was actually shocking that this company thinks these are acceptable pricing for their quality. I could have walked down the street and paid for a Gourmet Burger at BBC for much better price and far superior quality(which is what I should have done). I would never recommend this place to anyone ever, and encourage people to open your eyes and minds to what is around you for choices, there are at least 5 better places for Burgers I can think of in the blink of an eye that’s far superior.

I don’t give a damn about how long I have to wait to order or that you have to table stalk to get a seat. Once I get my hands on a Smoke Shack and Kringle kit fries, with a Harpoon IPA it’s like world peace!

Shake Shack is overrated. I have been here a few times and I always ask myself why did I come here. It definitely is not fast service, you will definitely spend 30 minutes minimum there to get your food. I think it is expensive for what it is. It is nothing special. I usually get the shake stack burger(Cheeseburger and a ‘Shroom Burger-Crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce) with fries. The burger is super greasy and lacks the wow factor. It sounds delicious when you read it but I am disappointed with the end result. I hope I learned my lesson of not going to shake Shack again.

I came here a few days ago with the intent to satisfy my sweet tooth. I ordered a single serving of their NewBERRY concrete and a side of crinkle-cut fries. The concrete was good, but it melted quite fast! It turned into a soup-like consistency in no time. It consisted of vanilla custard, cheesecake bites, and cinnamon sugar(a very nice and sweet touch). The crinkle-cut fries were a bit dry and quite plain. My boyfriend ordered the Smoke Shack burger and enjoyed it, but he thought it was a bit small for what he paid for. In terms of the seating, it was very crowded and a bit difficult to find a place to sit. As soon as I saw two people getting up to leave, I made a beeline for their table. The noise level can get pretty loud because of the crowds and the TVs they have in the establishment. Overall, this was a decent experience but I’m not sure if I’d be back anytime soon!

Went here at 1 pm on a Saturday – the wait in line wasn’t too bad, but it did require some vulture-like circling of tables before we could land seats. I had the traditional hamburger with a shared order of fries and a shared black and white shake. For the shake, I wouldn’t recommend the black and white – it tasted just like straight sugar, otherwise bland. I sampled my friends’ chocolate and vanilla shakes and they were both far better. The burger was pretty great – way better than generic fast food – and the crinkle cut fries were fresh and addictive. I’ll definitely be coming back. A note on the portions – if you intend on eating fries, a burger and a shake, I’d recommend splitting the whole thing with a friend. You’ll leave full and happy!

My family really enjoyed Shake Shack the last time we visited New York. The last day of our recent stay in Boston we decided to try out the Shake Shack on Newbury St. We both agreed that the burgers were just as great as the ones we had in New York. My wife had a basic cheeseburger, while I had the Smoke Shack. I really enjoyed the chopped cherry peppers and bacon. Truly, it was a great burger. We live in Myrtle Beach, SC, so we are hoping to see Shake Shack come to our area. Though their single burgers are on the small side, if you are looking for a great tasting cheeseburger, you have to try the Shake Shack. I also recommend the salted caramel milkshake. It is delicious!

Wanted to grab a quick lunch near our hotel so we decided to go to Shake Shack. I have been to the Shake Shack in New York, but I couldn’t remember how big the burgers were so I made the mistake of only ordering a single ShackBurger and a large Shack-made Lemonade. At $ 5.29 I would have hoped for a slightly bigger burger, but lesson learned. Order the double! Since the line was long and others were waiting for a table I didn’t bother standing in line to order more food. Shout out to the manager; he was awesome! He took my order when the line was getting long and stopped by our table to make sure our food was good. Taste alone I would rate Shake Shack 5 stars, but since the portions are smaller and pricier I have to dock them a star.

Shake shack has always been pretty hyped up to be the«In n Out of the east coast» but personally I don’t think it lives up to the hype. Seeing as it’s double the price of In N Out, I don’t feel like it’s worth it. Putting the comparison aside, I do honestly think it’s an okay burger. Wasn’t disappointing but it didn’t amaze me either; hence, the 3-star average rating. The thing that I do like about Shake Shack though is their variety in drinks and desserts.

Whenever I go to the east coast, I have to hit up shake shack up! While I love my in-and-out, shake shack is pretty delicious. Their buns are really soft, their meat is tender, and their coffee shake is legit. But, their fries can use a little work. This time, it was a little too dry… I also tried a bite of my friend’s chicken burger. It was pretty juicy! It paired well with the pickles but personally, I would have added some tomatoes and cheese to it. Until next time shake shack!

Shake shack has really grown on me. At first I was like«this is OK.» After all, I’m from the west coast and we have IN N Out; however, after having a couple more meals, I’m hooked. The burgers are super juicy and the buns are fresh and spongy. The shake sauce is a must! The hot dogs are also a must try, esp. if you love to grill your hot dogs. I like to have mine with just ketchup. The cheese fries pair well with the burgers and dogs. If you’re not big on cheesy sauce, you should refrain. Not to worry, the naked fries are crispy with just the perfect amount of salt. The best thing about this place is that you can get a local brew or cider with your meal. If you haven’t had the Downeast Cider, you’re really missing out. Try it immediately! Finally, once your finished with your meal, you can get a shake or custard. I’ve only had the strawberry shake and it was OK. Maybe I was comparing it to IN N Out too much. Personally, I like to go down the street to Ben and Jerry’s for dessert! There is one big pain about this place: THE seating!!! It’s usually super crowded and to land a seat, you have to vulture over people who look like they’re almost done with their meal. Another thing worth mentioning is that the food can take a long time. If you’re in a rush, you might want to go somewhere else and come back when you can enjoy a fresh cider with with your meal. Nonetheless, I give Shake Shack on Newbury five stars! Writing this review has made me hungry!

I came here after work on a Friday to try out the new Chick’n Stack. A pretty decent crowd there but no issues finding an empty table for two. The man taking my order was very nice and chatty, which made it a long wait to put in my order. He asked me if I’ve been to Shake Shack before(I have a few times) and proceeded to re-explained the whole Shake Shack process to me again. Not a big deal. Everything is made fresh to order so expect a 10-ish minute wait for your food. Pricey for fast food — 2 Chick’n Stack sandwiches and one milkshake is ~$ 20. The chicken sandwich itself was good. Very thick cut of chicken and very crispy too. They do not skimp out on the chicken. The buttermilk herb mayo VERY tasty and, for me, the highlight of the sandwich.

As a Californian, there’s always a battle between which is better In-N-Out vs. Shake shack. Here’s the deal: 1. Crinkly FRIES! Are bomb dot com! Not too oily, perfect amount of crisp and crunch and soft and gooey on the inside! I love the fries 100X more than In-n-out. The fries have texture and just taste better and also… Reminds me of what I envisioned French fries to be in real life after watching countless episodes of sponge bob as a child. These fries are addicting, but is a small portion — so either order an extra side of fries or come with friends who are willing to share: P(5 stars) 2. Shack Stack: is basically their cheese burger stacked with their Shroom burger plus their shack sauce. Personally, still not sure about the hype because the burger was really greasy and the shack sauce was too garlicky for me. The meat was also a bit tough/dry but I shroom(portobello mushroom) balanced the dryness out. The buns are very soft. Overall, I wouldn’t get this burger again and would rather just get the simple shroom burger. 3. Strawberry & Vanilla shakes: YESYESYES! Love them both! The best sweet and cold and gooey shake you will have. The sweetness was not too overpowering or sickening for me because of the relative small size of the shake. I love the rewarding feeling of slurping really hard for the cold and sweet tasting shake to finally enter my mouth!!! Just yessss!!!

There’s a trend in the fast casual burger comparison game, where comparison, well, is the game. «Better than Five Guys.» «It’s no In n Out.» «I put this between Smashburger and Fatburger, and just behind Burgerfi.» It’s all poppycockery. That said, Shake Shack posits itself as the hip kid on the block, and it’s fans most loyal declare it the new king of the $ 8 fast food sandwich. And if this is empirically true, I’m missing the why. The Smoke Stack($ 6.69 for a small, thin patty stack) is flavorful and sloppy in bun disintegration. The concrete is good custard ruined by a half-ass«blend» with chocolate toffee and caramel sauce. Again, the end result tasted fine; it just looked like shit(see photo). I wouldn’t necessarily call anybody behind the counter a peach, and questions were met with agnostic indifference.(I don’t know, do you want one?) My first visit to the Back Bay locale isn’t driving me to return, and in three separate meals at three other locations(two in NY, one in Cambridge), only one was less enjoyable than this fly-by. It’s decent food taken down by a lousy experience.

If there were more of these, and along the highways, I think I’d look like a Shack. I gave this a 5-star and thought the brevity of my review(sentence above) spoke plenty enough. Unfortunately Unilocal would not allow me to post my review because it was too short. So, I’m just blabbering to make take up space so that I can share with you my immense joy of indulging in their bugers, fries and most importantly their vanilla milk shake!

Shake Shack is mind blowing no matter where you are(but some locations more so than others). Each time I eat at a Shake Shack, it’s almost a religious experience, since I don’t live near one. This location attracts big crowds, since it’s on Newbury, yet service moves quickly. I ordered my usual(don’t judge me; I only get to eat here like twice a year!): shack stack, fries, and a small custard. The shack shack is an incredible monster of a burger, topping out at 770 calories, yet the beef patty and fried, cheese-stuffed portabella are worth every single one. The patty, this time, I felt was tougher than usual, yet still very juicy. The fries were crisp and golden, as always. The NewBERRY custard I got melted pretty quickly. As the dedicated Unilocaler I am, I did spend a couple minutes taking pics of my meal in a sunny patch on the table, so that could be why. Even so, the custard was delish, especially with fries dipped in. The only bad part was that the women’s restroom was flooded when I stepped in. Totally not fun to have the soles of your sneakers drenched with bathroom water :/
