Not impressed. Went for a few quick bites and a drink before a concert. we ordered the sushi volcano and the calamari. The sushi wasn’t bad, the calamari were overbreaded and over fried. Drink specials were uninspired. The waitress did not check back with us and we had to hunt her down to order the taco appetizer. Waited 20 minutes, no app and no waitress. Had to hunt her down again — she claimed a backed up kitchen, but the place was practically empty. App finally showed up and it was cold! Sent it back. Waited about 10 minutes for a replacement and finally gave up, got the check. At least they took one of the apps we did get off the bill. But then they tacked on a service fee, for a party of two!

We went in quick to get drinks and an appetizer(think: I was shooting for 30 – 45 mins) and sat outside — there was no wait. We were asked for a drink order about 30 seconds after sitting down and scrambled through the menu to order two drinks and said we just needed another minute to decide on an appetizer. We didn’t see the waiter for a half hour until they arrived with drinks(we were two tables away from the bar that was hardly packed — how does it take that long) and put our app order in. It took about 40 mins to get a single, tiny app, with the server coming by to apologize for the wait and saying it was almost done numerous times. Unfortunately when it arrived it was completely cold, which is not ideal when the menu item has«steamed» in the menu. I let the waiter know and his response was to apologize and say there was«nothing he could do» about it. Then to polish it off the gratuity is automatically added and charged for anyone, not just groups. The whole thing took 90 mins for two drinks and cold food. Yuck. I just have to laugh at telling a waiter you’re unhappy, and them replying with«oh there’s nothing you can do.» Like… What? The worst greasy spoon diner in the world knows that’s not how you deal with customers. Also I would absolutely not order the sushi. We tried to order a roll with a modification and were told they couldn’t accommodate that. After a few more questions the waiter said the rolls were pre-made. It looks very pretty on the plate but I’m not eating sushi made God knows when when you’re paying the prices at this place.

My hamburger was one of the best I’ve ever had and the fries were great! I recommend eating here.

Great experience all around. The staff is super accommodating, friendly and helpful. We sat outdoors on a beautiful night. There is plenty of seating inside and limited seating outside. The food was very good. Clam chowder had large chunks of clams and excellent taste. It was recommended we try the steak and cheese spring rolls which are deep fried. They were good. The pork chop was amazing, it came with squash and fingerling potatoes. I mentioned it was my birthday and ordered the s’mores dessert to share. They surprised me with a birthday message. Presentation was wonderful. Don’t skip because it is attached to the hotel they have a variety to their menu which is kind of nice because there is something for everyone.

I love this place. It’s my dad’s and my go-to spot for a nice drink and some food when I’m visiting home, and they’ve always been wonderful.

Everyone in our picky party agreed this was the best restaurant we dined at during our 4 day stay in Boston. We had sushi, the burger, the tacos & the steak– all perfect. The candied bacon is to die for. Gio, our waiter was very friendly & attentive.

Underwhelming on a good day. 3 stars only because the seating was very comfy and cute and the server was really nice. I went with 3 colleagues and no one was thrilled by the food. I ordered a spring salad with seared tuna and it was the most bland meal I’ve experienced. The tuna wasn’t at all seasoned and the salad was a SIDE salad portion of iceberg lettuce… who serves iceberg lettuce at restaurants anymore? Working in the area we definitely won’t be back — unanimous decision.

Nice service and setting doesn’t make up for very boring slow food. I ordered a spring salad that was essentially a bunch of cut iceberg lettuce with a mild and boring dressing, a teeniny sprinkle if bacon bits, canned tomatoes. I could have gotten this at any deli or fast food joint.

The only thing great about this place was the cute server we had. We made reservations for this place, but upon entering, were passed over by at least 5 staff members, who said absolutely nothing. It took another few minutes at the host booth before someone acknowledged us. The cocktail and dinner menus looked nothing like what they had online, they were out of the sushi that sounded appetizing. Awkward seating. The worst was when I ordered something, I requested no onions due to a food allergy. The first burger they brought out clearly had onions in it, so when it was corrected and sent back to me, I also discovered thin onions in the salad. Worst service I have had, do not waste your time on this place.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as there were mixed reviews and a number of reviewers were confused by and a bit skeptical of the diverse menu. But the app and dinner selections we made(calamari, steak tips, and mussels) were all delicious. The other food that passed by us looked excellent as well, and we look forward to returning to try out some of the other items. However, when we return, we’ll skip the S’mores in a Crock. It sounded great and tasted pretty good, but it was served in a burning hot bowl(not a crock), and half of the dessert stuck to the dish, so we missed out on the best parts. And it took way too long to be served. Other than that, it was an excellent choice for a hotel restaurant/bar that doesn’t seem to get a lot of notice with all of the newer places in the area.

One of my favorite places in South Boston! Their burger is so tasty and the cremé brûlée is simply the best around. The fish stew is also delicious and they have a phenomenal caprese sushi– something I never tried before, but I order it now with every occasion. Their chef is just amazing. The service is always remarkable, the prices are really affordable and they also have a beautiful lounge with a nice fireplace where you can sit for drinks. The place is pretty quite, just what you need for a relaxing evening/afternoon. Love it, we go there now at least once a week!

Ate here last night and had great service. The sushi was delicious and I was happy to hear they had GF soy sauce. The local whiskey they had will bring me back again!

A place to meet people while staying at the seaport hotel. There are plenty of seatings at the lounge and a decent collection of beer and liquor at the bar. The price for drinks is comparable to other hotel bars. Tips are included automatically in the bill.

I happened to walk past this place with my date, & in the spirit of trying new places, we happened to check it out. With places like Morton’s & Del Frisco’s in the area, I figured it would be half decent at best. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. I’m giving this place place two stars for two reasons: 1) The patio & inside dining area is very chic & appealing. 2) The staff was friendly & helpful. Other than that, this place is a waste of time. The menu is literally a collection of random foods that don’t belong together. Most plates reminded me of microwave dinner options. Some of the selections look decent. But I was hesitant to order seafood from a place that also has a chicken/waffle dish. We ended up ordering dessert(for the sake of having food in front of us) & a pitcher of sangria. I’m convinced the sangria was simply lemonade.

Underwhelming at best. I met a few colleagues here for dinner and it definitely was a comfortable space to sit and chat. The drink menu is extensive and the service is attentive. I was a bit mystified by the menu — it is organized in sections like«food truck» and«farmer’s market.» The food truck section was tempting– street tacos and Nepalese dal. But the menu also had sushi, lobster rolls, pizza, and more. I considered ordering the dal but I’m skeptical that a kitchen can make a great dal AND all of these other things. It reminded me of the restaurants one sees in strip malls: «Chinese, Pizza, Fried Chicken!» It also seemed like they were offering food truck dishes and food truck portions for several times the price. I think visiting a well respected food truck is probably a much better deal. I ordered the salmon with corn johnny cakes and brussels sprouts. Now, brussels sprouts, it seems to me, are a litmus test of sorts: you either love them or you hate them. I happen to love them, and I also love getting a healthy side of veggies on my plate. The salmon was well cooked and tasty, the johnny cakes were a little meh but passable, and the brussels sprouts were very nearly missing. I think there may have been 2 whole sprouts on the plate– it was hard to tell because they served them as individual leaves scattered over the top. Literally, one tablespoon of sprouts. This is a garnish, not a side of vegetables. I’m not sure I have ever been served a meal as stingy with it’s vegetables. My colleagues loved their food for what it is worth. One had sushi– the kind with tons of sauce and extra crunchy bits. The other had the Surf and Turf mac and cheese– an ooey, gooey carb and fat combo that was also devoid of vegetables. My advice for Tamo– serve some veggies for all of our sakes.

Grabbed a quick drink before a fundraising event across the street. We arrived early for the event and stumbled upon this little gem. We were seated immediately and we’re given the prime spot by the fireplace, which was perfect. The bar was packed on a Saturday night, but it was pleasant where we were. We ordered a bottle of Procecco and our server was professional and effective. He brought us a glass of nibbles to go with the beverage. We were quick in and quick out but the drink menu had at least 5 or so things that would have interested me. The bill was slightly confusing since there was no place for a tip — came to find out that 18% is added automatically. Next year, we will arrive early again so we can get back here! Not inexpensive, but worth it. Sit by the fireplace if you can!

I used to love Tamo’s menu, but the new version, which features small dishes from around the world really leaves me lacking. I want a hearty meal when it’s cold and I don’t feel like venturing outside the hotel after a long day at the office or a long flight. Also, I don’t feel like there are enough gluten free, dairy free options available. Their staff is fantastic and they pour a mean cosmo, but the food choices need work. Lastly, the décor needs a re-do.

Another place I stopped at because of its proximity to the World Trade Center. I tend to get hangry and I knew if I didn’t seek out food I’d have a melt down between panels and a planned outing later. Skipped out on a ticketed panel and headed to this place that connects to the Seaport hotel next door. Outdoor café seating, which we bypassed because of passing showers. Inside has a nice set up with deep couches seated near faux fireplaces. It was busy and I needed to make the next ticketed panel so my friend and I opted for quick appetizers. I ordered chicken wings and my friend the clam chowder with us splitting the calamari. I did like how fast the food came out and how delicious everything was. I didn’t like the service fee being added to my bill. I like deciding how much to tip and tend to go to the 20%. The added 18% bothered me and I didn’t want to leave more because I was forced to tip in the first place. I get why they do it as they are a part of a service inclusive facility, but this isn’t a cruise where tips are included and all the services is on par. My waitress didn’t exactly impress. That’s just a small irritation. Overall, it was a good dining experience for me.

Came here last night after the event at Lawn On D and after cruising through many other restaurants to find they had 2+hr waits. This little bistro is across the street from the Seaport World Trade Center, away from the madness near the Pavilion on a Saturday night. There was no wait when I went, but a good amount of customers were there. I suggest getting an outdoor table to enjoy the beautiful breeze/scenery on a nice night. For drinks, I ordered the Tamo Mai-Tai. It was meh. Very strong. It wasn’t as creamy or fruity as others I’ve had and I like it creamy and fruity. My friend had some kind of alcoholic lemonade. She said it had a tint of coconut to it. It was definitely milder than mine, but I like it better and I don’t even like lemonade. For food, we shared a clam chowder and calamari. She then had the Tamo burger and I had the chicken and waffles as entrees. The clam chowder was is best part of our meal. Heck I’ll even say it was some of the best I’ve ever had in Boston. It had little bacon crisps sprinkled on top along with the perfect amount of seasoning. The calamari was sadly a miss. Only about 2⁄3 of the dish had actual squid. The rest was fried dough, jalapeños, and bell peppers. The first bite I had was a piece of airy puffy dough. So disappointed. The flavors were interesting though. Peppery and spicy with a side of sweet & sour dipping sauce. My chicken and waffles was also just ok. It was a tiny piece of fried chicken sandwiched between two equally as small waffles. A bit dry and bland, I dipped it in ketchup. My friend’s TAMO burger looked huge and delicious though. Shout out to the impeccable service and cute little condiment bottles. A major downside to the dining experience was the tiny table I got. It was a bit slanted too, worrying me the whole meal.

Tamo Bistro & Bar is located just off the main lobby of the Seaport Hotel, but the divider wall helps it to not feel overly exposed. The bar itself is at the far end in an enclosed space which made it rather loud when filled with the after work crowd. I opted for one of the tables in the space between that led to the bar instead, which just so happens to be across the way from their breakfast nook, Aura Restaurant. Wednesday being the evening of our visit, I asked what might the $ 20 Wild Thing«Dailies» special be? It was duck! Two large meaty legs, crispy on the outside yet moist on the inside with a cucumber slaw. From the«Food Truck Nation» section of the menu we selected the Korean Barbecue — Short Ribs, Red Leaf Lettuce, Pickled Daikon $ 14, which was tasty as well. The only thing was, since we weren’t interested in getting a salad, that we found the portion of vegetables insufficient to make up a well rounded meal. To finish, I was enticed by the Seaport Honey Panna Cotta, Buttery Honey Curd, Florentine Cookie $ 7 from the«Oh But You Should» part of the menu. Why, don’t mind if I do! It was quite yummy and soft, but the portion was just a bit too dainty. The florentine cookie was tasty, but its sweetness was cut by the dark chocolate filling. No idea where the honey curd was though. Service was good, and well worth the 18% tip included on the bill.
