I came here hoping to celebrate Mardi Gras ‘masquerade ball’ but completely wasted my time and money. 100% disappointed!!!

Service was great, drinks were weak, food was alright(nachos are yum-o, but the buffalo tenders had an odd sweet taste), clientele was apparently made up of exhibitionists. We went here for the Pats playoff game, the one in which they tragically lost to those Bronco. During our time at the Greatest Bar, there was a table to our right on the main floor who started making out and performing hand sexual acts on each other. The girl was wearing overalls with the top part pulled down(as if they were regular pants), and the guy literally shoved his hand right down into her crotch area and started messing about. Come on guys, I know it’s a dive bar, but he didn’t even wash his hands. Then he basically ignored the girl, so she left on her own, while he high-fived his friends and finished watching the game. He was not a gentleman. Thats the kind of thing you can expect here, so if that’s your thing, then that’s your thing.

What’s so «great» about this bar? As far as I can see, maybe just the multiple floors with different music genres playing on each? The types of people that The Greatest Bar brings in are not the kind you want to get stuck up against when they fill it over capacity. Everytime I’ve gone to The Greatest Bar, there’s been a fight, a scuffle, a brawl, whatever you want to call it. It takes FOREVER to get a beverage. I even saw some girls that snuck their own nips in and just kept refilling their cups that way… smart as hell. I won’t be back.

This bar sucks don’t ever go there to watch football they play the music so loud you can’t hear the TV. They don’t care about anything but the Bruins or Celtics and the Patriots, it’s not a sports bar it’s a Boston bar only. That’s perfectly fine just advertise that way. If any other team is playing it doesn’t matter they will play music so loud you can’t even hear or talk to each other.

Attended a college reunion of sorts here last night and overall it was a great experience! It is a clean, well-stocked sports bar that appears to be understaffed though. My reunion was held on the 3rd and 4th floors, which was a perfect amount of space for ~400 people. The third floor had a large bar and some old school video games, while the 4th floor had booths surrounding a dance floor. They had great music playing and excellent ambiance and lighting. The bouncers I encountered(at the front door and on each floor) were very courteous and friendly. They don’t have an easy job, I bet, so I appreciated the extra effort they went to to be nice. The bartenders on the 3rd floor were very friendly and helpful but, honestly, I felt like I should jump in and help them! Three bartenders for ~200 people seems a little unfair to everyone involved, you know? My main complaint(and reason for docking a star) is the volume of the music/DJ’s mic. The music was a little loud on its own(especially for a reunion at a sports bar.?) but was totally tolerable until the DJ’s mic was turned on! The DJ is located up on the 4th floor and his mic broadcasts to the 3rd and 4th floors. Now, you may say«Katie, it’s clubbing! Of course it’s loud!» But I reply, «[insert your name], I can’t hear you over the loud DJ!» I don’t know what was with the sound system last night, but it was pretty painful when the DJ would talk. Also, just a side note, we couldn’t see the DJ up on the next floor, so everything he said was confusing and meaningless(and LOUD)!! Definitely a fun place to hang out, just bring some earmuffs!

Spoiler alert: Name is deceiving, not the greatest bar Upside: Good for pre-hockey festivities! Food — unimpressed I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The bun was soggy and the chips were tasteless. Service — slow and inattentive My friend had to ask for an ordered item 3 times before it finally arrived(20 min later). I asked for ranch, which never came. Very poor service.

I’ve been to The Greatest Bar about a handful of times and to be honest, this place is far from«The Greatest Bar» that is in Boston. First time I have visited here it was after a event at the garden on a Monday night and I remember having a few cold ones here and the staff not caring that I had a few in a short span. I think that was an obvious sign that this place didn’t care, knowing my 22 year old self I didn’t even care that I could pound down 3 cold ones in a span of 45 minutes. Oh the joys of youth. Next experience was before a celtics game where I got food here as well as some drinks. One thing i’m not too fond of when it comes to this establishment is the prices of drinks. They have the tendency to overcharge on a bottle and don’t even think about that $ 11 mixed drink. I got nachos here which were alright up until the morning after where they did not sit well but then again it might have been the booze. Third experience was my least favorite due to the fact that it was a «club» night and on fridays and the vibe is just way too pretentious. Have you seen those movies with club scenes where that one guy is just doing nothing? yeah, thats what it was like, Not too mention the bar staff was hard to get to get their attention to get a drink. Not even worth the effort in my opinion. If you are trying to club somewhere and are clubbing here in Boston, YOU’REDOINGITWRONG! Out of all the establishments near the Garden there are ones that are more deserving of your money and are much more worthwhile. If you ever get the time, Check out the ones that matter. And also, Never judge a book by it’s cover.

Living in Camridge there are a lot of bars to choose from. I went here for a friends party and have to say while I was there I had a pretty fun time. The drinks are alright and most of the bartenders friendly. This is when they are open of course, as they have a tendency to never be open when they say they are. Do not believe the hours of operation on Unilocal or on their website as ¾ times they will NOT be open. I unfortunately left my sweatshirt there and had to visit them 5 different times and dates during their«open» hours just to find the front two doors unlocked to ask them to check their lost and found. Will not be going back on my own accord or recommend it to anyone

I am just shocked at the negative reviews here, so I’m going to add mine to counterweight it. I haven’t been back lately, but I’ll at least say that it was the BEST, no GREATEST, place during the world cup. I think the owner is Dutch, and their team had a good run, so the atmosphere was just electric. Dutch pastries were passed around, on the house, and all the floors were open, so the place was a labyrinth of festivity. Maybe that’s not your scene, but I LOVED it. I’ve been back once, and the place was slow and sticky, so I can see where some of these reviews come from. But it’s not a fine cuisine restaurant, so I just suggest going when it’s crowded to get the best experience. Probably during Boston sporting events, i mean, it is after all a sports bar.

Was pretty disappointed with the slow service and they didn’t have goslings for my dark and stormy. I don’t plan on giving it a second chance

Went here to pregame for Frozen Four. This bar was far from the greatest bar I’ve been to. Though it was busy because of all the UND fans at this bar, they had only two bartenders working on the third floor. It took 10 – 15 minutes to get one simple beer. You were better off ordering two while you could instead of having to wait again. What made this bar awful was the rudeness of the bouncers at the door AFTER the hockey game. I went to go out and mourn the loss of our team at the bar with other UND fans. However one bouncer checked my ID and was willing to let me in, but the other bouncer wanted to see my ID as well. He told me he could not let me in because my eyes were dilated. He went on to say that I had been drinking too much or that«I was on something,» insinuating that I had done drugs. I had not had a drink since 5PM and this was at 11PM, and I do not partake in drugs due to strict regulations of my job. In fact, the TD Garden did NOT even serve alcohol at this event. The bouncer went to attempt to grab my shoulders and push me away when I made no attempt at entering their bar. My friends and I left, and they lost out on our money the rest of the weekend.

Worst. Bar. Ever. Terrible service and all frozen food. Terrible, go anywhere else. They gave us the wrong drinks twice, and the calamari left my stomach upside down.

LOUD… VERYLOUD… DID I TELLYOUITWASLOUD? Anyway we stopped in after the Celtics game for one more drink before heading on our public transportation invitation. Place wasn’t super busy but it was still not that easy to get a drink. I can only imagine a Saturday night with the place packed to the ceiling which by the way is really high. I heard there are 4 floors but we only ventured to two. That’s all that was open. Bar on 2nd was closed as well hence the slight difficulty getting a drink on the main floor. With the music so loud you have to grab the visual attention of the bartender. Thankfully my friend is like 5’10″ and easy to see. lol…

Basically. Worst service ever. Justine was the bartender and had a serious attitude. I was charged for two drinks that were not correct and when I asked about she basically said ‘o well’ and walked away. If you go there get Kayla or Greg as a bartender. Awesome people!

Soo… Greatest compared to what? Trashy 4 story bar near the Garden. Like half of the house mixed drinks feature Red Bull so if you’re 17 years old that’s cool. Positive, TV’s. Negative, they need TV’s to take your attention away from how crappy everything around the TV’s looks. Plenty of plastic cups on hand. They have ski ball. One Star.

We held a high school reunion here last night and had a great time! Working with Kayla, the event coordinator, made it easy to plan. She was very helpful/attentive, and always got back to us with the information we needed. We had a lot of fun on the third floor, too… the bartenders were awesome and skeeball was a sweet bonus :)

I ended up here for my friend’s birthday because it was convenient to the train. It was empty. The bartender did not know what they had on tap. She told us they had no ciders, so my friend got a bottled cider. I decided to walk down the bar to see, and I saw that there was indeed cider on tap. I’ve been here before for game watchings, and they do have good happy hour food specials during these events. It’s an okay place to grab a quick drink, but to spend an evening.

This place was awesome! Pretty much had it to ourselves on a dead Monday night for MNF, but you can see how this place would be a blast if one of the Boston teams were playing. If I ever opened a bar, it would be modeled after this place!

Went to a charity even here, it was held on the 4th floor. The drinks were small but tasted fine, not too strong. The room was nice and a pleasant place to hold an event. While the staff was friendly, having to wait one full hour for a buffalo chicken sandwich was less than desirable. They had apparently given away the sandwich to another patron. We still had to pay for it. Ugh. How’s that for a pain in the behind? Not the worst bar, but not the greatest bar.(How many times has THAT line been used?)
