Wow… the quality has really really really gone down hill. This place used to be our go to breakfast place, but now it’s just garbage… and overpriced at that. I paid 15 bucks for a short stack with bacon! Completely unimpressed

Price: Way too high. D– Food Quality: Large portions of tasteless food = D. Location: It wouldn’t be so bad except for the parking = D Atmosphere: Like walking into a dive in Montana = D I got scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. You’ve got to be pretty inept to screw up a standard breakfast. The bacon tasted ok but too thick for my preference. Toast was done lazily: they sprayed PAM or something in a skillet and overgrilled it. That’s NOT how to do toast properly. The eggs were maybe 20% egg and 80% something else; there was no flavor, even when adding salt, it was like they weren’t even there. And yes, the girl at the cashier looked like she didn’t care for her job. Very good looking, but no enthusiasm. Just as an aside, there wasn’t a minority in the place, so… Anyway, I really feel bad saying it, but Denny’s does a WAY better breakfast at $ 3 – 4 cheaper with better service and good looking cashiers who actually LIKE their job(though they’re stressed with the amount of foot traffic).

We had breakfast here for the first time today and it was top notch soul food. Our server was prompt and very nice. The pancake was big and fluffy and the bacon was crispy awesomeness. The biscuits and gravy were a pleasant surprise. The gravy was rich and salty because they use bacon in the gravy: Yum!

The country Village is pretty cool, but this restraunt was not. :(We ate today, dad and 2 daughters for daddy’s day out with the girls, we were not impressed with anything, and it was way over priced, and dirty and the food was not good, even the water taste funny. The waitress didnt fill our water glasses, and she looked like she didnt want to work there or anywhere. I rated this a 1 star, then noticed afterwards, everyone this year 2012 rated a 1 star too. I hope you read these reviews.

Your breakfast business down? Here may be the reason… We haven’t eaten here in years. It used to be excellent. Every Sunday morning we go out to breakfast with our elderly Mom and she never wanted to go here. We finally talked her into it using their Bacon as a hook to get here there. Well, they weren’t busy but took 10 minutes to get coffee to our table. There was a waitress from the 50’s there,(her hairdo proved my point) that was waiting on our table. The five of us made our order. When the food came EVERYONE’s order was backwards. Mom didn’t get her muffin. When we asked the waitress where it was she said, «oh, their in the oven baking so I couldn’t get it out. At the end of the meal the muffin came out, COLD! When my wife asked where her blueberries were she ordered with her fruit, the waitress said, «oh, they’re frozen and we only use them in pancakes»! Then why are they on the menu? As I said, our orders were backwards but I won’t bore you with the details, trust me. When my daughter complained her breakfast sandwich had meat on it,(she’s vegatarian) the waitress told her to just take the bacon off of it! My daughter accused her of not writing down our order correctly. The waitress took the ticket and stuck it 2 inches from my daughters face and said, «Look, I did too»! My daughter is not the person you want to stick something in her face. All 5 foot 1 and 100lbs of energy were unleashed, politely but sarcastic. Although we never asked for it, the waitress said, «Fine, don’t pay for your breakfasts then». No one said we wouldn’t pay but now that you mentioned it we are outta here! I vow to never go back to this dump and suggest you don’t even try it. If you have, don’t try it again… I’m sorry to say this because they really do have good bacon and are located close to us. You couldn’t pay me to eat there again…

We came here on a Sunday morning because all our usual spots were so busy. I should have guessed from the open tables on a Sunday that it was not that good. the service was terrible, it was not busy but it took almost 15 minutes for the waitress to come over and say«what do you want» never brought us ice waters, never checked to see how everything was never bothered to fill my water after I had to order one, and was almost done eating when she finally brought my toast. chicken fried steak was chalky, hashbrowns were soggy, and my girlfriend got French toast that looked like grocery sliced bread when she was expecting it big and thick(that’s what she said) overall this place was terrible and I hate leaving bad reviews

The service was terrible. I got the feeling they honestly didn’t want me eating there. The corned beef was from a can — you know the pasty, pink corn beef mush with little potato goops that you might confuse with dog food if you opened it in a dark room? Yep. That. On the bright side, they seem to know and like their regular customers, but if you aren’t one of those people, and if you aren’t a contestant on ‘Americas worst chef’ you’ll probably be better off staying home and opening up your own can of … well… ahem.

The bacon here is phenomenal. Not sure where they source it, but it beats the bacon at almost any other breakfast/brunch place in the greater Seattle area(even the fancier places, e.g., Dahlia). Thick, cooked to crispy-yet-chewy perfection. Porky goodness. The other food is okay, but when the bacon is this good who cares? Good service. It’s a family-owned and operated business. People who complain about the teenagers should cut them some slack — they are nice kids, doing the best that they can. Exercise some patience, people. And enjoy the bacon!

Drove all the way to the Maltby Café, walked in and was immediately disgusted. I simply dont know why people would want to sit in that smelly cramped basement when they could go to my long favorite, Country Café. The food service is great, no crowds or jostling, you can have a decent conversation without the mass stampede and sweaty basement feeling and enjoy the meal like a sane person. four stars for sure. !! Keep on doing what you do Country Café. ! this is the real deal.

I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was delightfully juicy and the thick-cut bacon was amazing! My wife had the club sandwich with their house-roasted turkey breast. It too was fantastic. A great lunch was had by all!

I came for breakfast one day and other than not liking the jam served with the biscuit everything was really good. It’s a down-home meal kind of place. The bacon is super thick and salty and the coffee keeps flowing. Perfect place to sit with someone and chat.

I think this may actually be the worst breakfast I’ve ever been served! Let’s start by my wife asking how long the wait is to the teenage boy behind the counter…“there are five in front of you. they leave when they leave” not a great sign but we persevere. We finally get seated and it looks like nothing but teenagers working here and they are all unorganized and confused. The patrons that we saw sitting and waiting also looked like they have been waiting for a while and could quite possibly go postal at any minute but understood the place was swamped. I order a bacon/cheese omelet with country potatoes, the wife gets a short stack/side of sausage, and my daughter gets a choc/chip w/side of bacon. We wait… crickets… crickets… crickets… finally our food comes but only after my coffee has been empty forever and the girls pancakes look delicious, The bacon is thick, sausage is juicy, and I can’t wait to see my masterpiece! My plate had to have been sitting in the window since the first cricket because my omelet is about the size of a small envelope, rubbery as hell, so cold that the cheese that was once melted inside had mysteriously resorted back to it’s original form. On top of it all the«country potatoes» were just fried chunks of potato that was cold, and the single piece of sourdough that came with was also cold. Ate a little bit of it but pushed it aside and helped my girls with theirs’(it’s good to be the dad!) which wasn’t bad. Nobody noticed that most of my breakfast was left on the plate and actually, if they would have asked I would have told them the truth. Since they didn’t we just left and won’t be back. For the love of all things decent, avoid this place!

A visit here is like walking into the Cantina and you are the wookiee. Waited while several diners that arrived after us were attended to, left a buck on the table and headed to Patty’s Eggnest for a fantastic breakfast.

If you’ve ever been to Country Village in Bothell around Christmas time then you know just how adorable this place is. Nothing gets you in the holiday spirit quicker and easier than a little visit to this blast from the past, old time village. Right in the front of Country Village is Country Café. A quaint little café with the same workers from when I was going there years and years ago to drink coffee and hang out. Their food is delicious, filling and the service is speedy and friendly. I’m not understanding the negative reviews this place gets because if you want yummy café food, and to browse in the most adorable stores you’ll ever lay eyes on, then this is the place to be.

This restaurant isn’t anything all that special. The portions are bigger, but not nearly as tasty, or as big enough to justify the price. I got the budget breakfast, and it was a slice of thick cut bacon, a very generously sized slice of french toast, and a scrambled egg. The french toast tasted like metal, and it really didn’t taste all that great. The thick cut bacon was pretty standard, it tasted like bacon. The scrambled egg, it was really bland, and didn’t taste all that good. Overall, it wasn’t that great of food. Save your money, and go to Denny’s.

Met another Unilocaler here for breakfast at 7am Saturday morning. There is not a lot open in Bothell at 7am on the weekend to start with. I was really hungry for dinner after having worked all night, why will places like this do breakfast all day, but not dinner? I had the chicken fried steak which was as close to dinner as I could get. None of it looked home made except the fried eggs. The hash browns were done just right. The Sausage gravy(not country like the steak should have had) was tasty. The portions were average — which makes them small for the price, but I was sufficiently full for just before bed time. The staff was friendly, service was quick and fairly attentive. We were the only 2 there to start with, but as we sat more tables filled. If I were near by I would probably go back, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way.

County Café is a homey restaurant in little village in Bothell that looks like it never hit modernity :). It’s a easy place to find and perhaps I’ll wander the tiny old-fashion town one day. But ok! The service is quite wonderful. They checked up on us often, but not so many times that it was obnoxious. Food wise, the portions were quite generous. The biscuits there are the size of giant cupcakes and taste homemade-delicious. I ordered a pretty mediocre meal of just an sunny-side up egg, country fried potatoes, and sausage, so I couldn’t really tell you if the food was fantastic. It was good, but you can’t really go wrong with the kind of meal I got right? Everyone else I was with seemed to enjoy it though! O, and I also ordered a chocolate milk and I believe it was whole milk… good. but horrible at the same time because it was a meal in itself. If I could do halves, I’d give this a 3.5÷5

This homey café was a bit of a let-down, which is a bummer, because it’s in a convenient location in a cute little shopping center. The service is outstanding. I would give it four stars overall, maybe even 4.5, on the basis of our friendly, genuinely helpful and openly smiling waitress(how dare she be so cheerful! LOL) In fact, I might even try it again on her account. I haven’t had good service like this in a simple café anywhere other than Denice’s Place(always; Lucy and Denice are awesome) and the Village Square Café(sometimes). But the food is not so good, at least for me. I ordered one of my standard café breakfasts, two eggs scrambled dry with cheese, country potatoes(or whatever non-shredded hash browns they have), bacon, and whole-wheat toast. The toast was a nice big slice but John grabbed it, so I’m not sure if I would have loved it or not. :-) The potatoes were not what I think of as country potatoes; these were essentially cut-up and deep-fried steak fries. Bleah. I want some caramelized onions and pan-fry grease with my home fries! They make a big deal out of cutting their own thick-cut bacon… but sadly, I’ve discovered that past the thickness of the bacon at Denice’s, bacon crosses my personal line to fried ham and I don’t like it so much. Oh well. It had good flavor and texture, I just want some crispiness that’s impossible at that thickness. The eggs were the real disaster for me. The cheese was good, thickly appplied on top, but the eggs were not real eggs; they were either real eggs mixed with soy-containing pancake mix, or fake eggs with some soy protein in them because I was itchy and queasy nearly immediately after consuming them. I’m sorry, to me, there are four, maybe five acceptable scrambled egg ingredients: eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and maybe garlic powder. Pancake mix has multiple allergens(soy and wheat) and it’s cruel to add them to eggs without disclosing it on the menu, IMO. And any place that does this immediately raises my questioning of other items that commonly have allergenic additives, making meals unpleasant at best. I don’t want to have to give someone the third degree in order to find out what’s safe for me to eat… scrambled EGGS, people, not scrambled SOYBEANS. *sigh* But the room is cozy if simple, the restrooms are adequate, and as I said, the service was excellent. Prices were moderate for what the food was, and if that’s your concern, go early in the morning because early birds get a 15% discount on most of the menu.
