I had a complicated tax situation this year, which included write offs, paid off debts, expenses, etc. I decided it would do me well to go to H & R Block to have my taxes professionally done. When preparing your taxes they charge by the form, since I had many forms to be filed, I walked away paying them about $ 550 for filing my taxes. However, along with the high-fee’s comes peace of mind. I think it comes down to how much protection you want when filing your taxes. If you have a simple tax return don’t waste your money on H & R Block.
The saving grace to wasting so much money on peace of mind, was my tax consultant Ioulia! She was respectful and efficient. I really appreciated the personal approach and care she gave to me while doing my taxes. I felt she had my best interest in heart and it made me feel better about spending such a big chunk of change. I would highly suggest her if you have any business expenses or a complicated tax situation.
H & R block also offers three years of audit protection for $ 35. This provides you with a consultant who will deal with the IRS for you, and even go to court in your place.
Overall, the company stands up to their name, but the Ioulia (Julia), really made me feel good about spending my money there.
