Terrible staff, the good was cold, and the food is expensive. The waiters are very rude, and unprofessional. I will never give them my penny again. Went there on many occasions, but the service was poor. Shame on them for the horrible experience.

Food was so-so and service was mediocre as well. Staff in the past would ask the kitchen for a favorite(corn patties) but this time, staff declined to even ask. I wouldn’t come back.

We’ve eaten here before, and previously the food and service were good. We came for Mother’s Day, and we had a disappointing experience. The hostess did not have a record of our reservation, and she seemed harassed in trying to set up a table for 5 adults + a toddler. After asking«how many?» a half dozen times, they did set up a table for us, but it was a full 20 minutes before anyone greeted our table after we were seated(the restaurant was 2⁄3 full). The food quality and presentation was mediocre. Half of the dishes came out, and then it was another 10 – 15 minutes before the others trickled in. My brother ordered his food mild in order to share with his 3-year old, and it came out quite spicy. The waiter never came back to check on the food after it was delivered. The last straw was the automatic 18% gratuity that was added onto our bill(for a party of 5 adults). Frankly, the tip was undeserved, and I felt taken advantage of. There is lots of other great Thai food in this area, and this place lost my business for good.

Went here Sunday afternoon. We ordered Pad thai with chicken and I think Almond Chicken. Both tasted great, nice size portions, reasonably priced. The Almond Chicken had great fresh vegetables. We had both brown rice and white rice. They brought some soup to start the meal. The service and atmosphere were excellent. Very good experience. Glad we went.

Great food, though sometimes I find they are tricky for takeout. The food is best in-house.

This place is ok, mostly because the service isn’t that great(totally apathetic, no smiles) but the food mostly is. Things I liked: Crispy Garlic Chicken Heavenly Beef Shrimp Curry w Avocado …and the regular Thai stuff Make sure to call ahead on weekends. They have a nice inside waiting area.

Great food, been here over 10 times. Phad kee Mao, chicken with the skinny noodles every time!!! The fresh wraps are delicious too!

Came here for the first time and just did a pick up. When I called to make an order, the lady on the phone was rude and sounded so unpleasant. I was really shock on how she spoke to me, that I was about to just cancel the order. When I got there, no one was there to greet or asked why I was there. So for the service there so far, its bad. The food was also meh. I order the pad see iew. It’s kinda hard to make a bad version, but i had better. Can’t be the judge of the other food or the dine in service, but most likely won’t be back.

It’s nicely decorated and nicely located. The food is overpriced and it isn’t particularly great. It just happens to be one of the very few Thai food options in the neighborhood. Other than the location, I can’t seem to think of anything noteworthy to review here. If you must, try the lunch special.

Decided to stop here for dinner to check the place out. The first thing I noticed was the prices. The prices of this place are far above any thai place I’ve been to before, and for the prices you don’t get any more. The inside is nice and new looking. Nice lighting, matching chairs. Nice plates and fancy wide forks. Small water glasses(this is especially bad because they never refilled my water) I ordered a Thai iced tea and it was almost all half and half. My 3 star phad see ewe was bland in spicesand overly sweet. The veggies were over cooked. The phad thai that we ordered was good, but the flavor was once again bland. The service is slow. It took a long time to get seated dispite half the place being empty.(Also no greeter) our food took abnormally long to arrive at our table and they never refilled our water in nearly 45 minutes. I talked to some people who really like this place, so maybe this experience a fluke, but still I can’t justify the prices here.

Penang Curry and Crispy Golden chicken is simply great! The ambience is nice and casual, the service was prompt even though the place was crowded with Thai food lovers on a Friday night. This is a sister branch to Chantanee Thai restaurant in Bellevue and I love that place.

Pleasantly surprised with how good this place is for downtown Bothell. My favorite dish here so far is the pad ki mao. There many good options here. Also, they provide fast and courteous service. I have enjoyed every experience there for to go orders and dining in. Would recommend this is to anyone.

The restaurant is set on Main St in the heart of downtown Bothell. My husband and I like to order our entrees to-go at least once a week. Some of my favorites entrees are: spicy garlic chicken, pad ki mao with pork, sizzling beef, garlic prawns, garlic calamari, scallop prik pao, and pad see yew with pork — I always get them extra spicy/level 5! This place is reasonably priced considering the portions. It has a lovely interior and feels spacious. The staff is very attentive and prompt especially with water refills. I always have a pleasant dining experience here. Highly recommended to anyone in the neighborhood that’s craving Thai to give this place a shot.

Poor service. Surprising contrast from our last visit. We used to recommend and take our out of town guests to Pen Thai. Not any more. Not sure if it’s management change, the employee going through personal or family ordeal, etc but this restaurant needs a long time out. Recent stream of 1 star reviews seem to echo my experience. In the meantime I’ll be taking my business to Thai Kitchen in Kirkland. Uodate: I ran into at least 6 locals who swore off this restaurant because of the caustic service from the host. May want to write an update if you had a change of staff since you’re hemoraging customers… and your restaurant looks pretty empty these days.

Horrible Service !!! Came here with high hopes as it was recommended by my fiancée per her visit from few years back… However when we got here every single wait staff seemed to be having a bad day. almost seemed like they were mad that we even came in. Restaurant was not busy at all however still took 10 mins just to sit us. Once sat server just threw in the serving plates and soups on the table without saying anything. Serving plate was dirty so when asked to be changed the guy grabbed it annoyed. few minutes later another group of people walked in and the server turned around and did a big sighhhhh… Food was ok at best. Would not come back nor recommend this place. If people are looking for a good Thai food then Pestle Rock in Ballard is great.

WORSTSERVICEEVER. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!! I think management has changed. When we first went it was nice, food WAS good and service WAD attentive. However on two separate occasions the waitresses were busy doing their makeup and chatting with each other as we waited 15 mins to order. Then last night we ordered over the phone, got off the bus and picked up, brought home and realized the order wasn’t right. Called and told them it was wrong and if we could get a discount on our food since we were already home and couldn’t hop back on a bus exchange the food for the right kind. The lady made a huge deal about it and was so rude and disrespectful. She finally said that we could come in and get the right food, took my Fiancé’s Name and number. Today we go in and they proceed to tell my fiancé that he should have brought the old food back and it’s rude not to. He said that he was on a bus last night and couldn’t come back and that he was sorry. They then ask for his ID(Which I’m pretty sure is illegal) I guess they took his ID so they can keep him on the books of people who got«free» stuff. They treated us like we were lying, which we weren’t they messed up and couldn’t admit it. Please don’t go here, service is awful, manager is super rude and food is way too expensive for the quality.

Pen Thai is the sister-restaurant of Chantanee in Bellevue, so it’s sure to please, especially because the menu is identical. What’s funny is my boyfriend and I, Bellevue residents, walked into Pen Thai and were instantly recognized by two of the waitresses who also work at Chantanee! They jokingly asked us what we were doing in Bothell, and we explained that we were craving the Thai food that we love from Chantanee. You can never go wrong here(or Chantanee). Everything you’ll order is flavorful and addicting. In particular, we ordered the Crispy Garlic Trout, which is an entire trout that is coated with crushed garlic. It was so easy to peel off from the skin because the trout was flaky. It was by far one of our favorite dishes and is worth the 17 bucks.

Either I ordered wrong or the 200 or so 4 and 5 star reviews are wrong. In any case, Pen Thai is average. Of the four dishes we got(and I exclude the spring rolls), two were subpar, one was okay and one was good. That in my book doesn’t quite cut it. The Pad Thai is terrible. It was just weird — something I expect would be consistent. The wife, a connoisseur of Papaya Salads found Pen Thai’s lacking. We got a tofu dish which was actually quite competent and the Princess favourite that rounded off the mediocre food with some more averageness. I would look elsewhere for a meal.

Owned by the same family as Chantanee. good thing this place is in bothell. not downtown Bellevue, and all corporate and sh$t. In turn, while prices are $ 2 – 3 more than most other Thai joints, they aren’t outrageous like Chantanee(which i gave 2 stars). Food is excellent. one of, if not the best Thai food in Seattle. Flavors are distinctly wonderful and true. Lunch has a simpler menu but dinner is where the menu just shines. Been there 5 times and have never been unhappy with any dishes. Probably the nicest Thai restaurant i’ve had anywhere(outside of Thailand) other than Lotus of Siam in Vegas. I recommend: Panang curry(beef or duck if they have it), Heavenly beef is interesting, Phad Prik King — yummy green beans.
