This summer my friend and I were working on a house on a small side street in Boulder Creek for the lovely Mrs. Scarlet. At the same time another friend of mine, Josh bought the house across the street and was doing a complete remodel on it with three good Friends of mine. Josh’s next door neighbor ended up being a rock solid dude who would get home from work at about noon and hang out with us. So began the Sequoia Drive Social Club. It was nice being able to walk across the street, say hi and borrow a tool that you didn’t have on your job. The coffee pot was all ways on and the insults and inside jokes were an all day affair. We would duck out for lunch at(The Office) Boulder Creek Brewing Co. and sometimes have food. After that we would grab some more beers to round out the afternoon and end the day back at The Office. If this sounds kinda screw loose to you, trust me we are professionals. Scarlet got a trick new roof, facias, skylights and Josh’s house looks like it belongs in Woodside. Right now I’m finishing a custom tile job at Josh’s and I’m off to another job. Part of me wishes it wouldn’t end.
