This was a hit and miss for us. The beers were very good. Loved the Salvation! Best beer ever. The downside was the menu and trying to find something that everyone liked. Would like to see more selections. The BBQ chicken sandwich was flavorful but messy due to the thin bread slices. Artisanal bread would be a perfect complement. Spare ribs were good but pricey. The udon noodles and cheeseburger were okay — neither teenager finished their entrees. The side order of fries were delish. Customer service was slow, but she was helpful in finding the beers we desired.

Great Stouts — Great Patio. I took a couple clients to Avery Brewing, as a TGIF lunch before a beautiful Colorado weekend, and it was great. I really enjoyed the patio seating, and the Tap Room interior is also nice(and was hopping on a sunny Friday). I tried a couple of their stouts, and I really liked both of them. My friends were not complaining about their IPA or Belgian White either. The stouts pack an APV punch, so drink responsibly! At least two of us went with their«Meat, Meat, Meat» option for lunch, and it was good, too. The Friday lunch is fish-and-chips, so I’d like to get back and try it out.

Avery makes some of the best beers in Colorado. There are a LOT of breweries in this awesome state but Avery is so consistent in quality and variety that they’re always heads above some of the other breweries here(with no disrespect intended to those others) For a while, their brewery and tap room was a nice but small joint amongst some warehouses, and eventually they outgrew the space-sitting spaces were often filled when I would visit and it was clear they could use some more space. They finally made the move not long ago and as a result, they now have one of the best taprooms and restaurants in the state! They’re not too far from where they were before(maybe 10 – 15 minutes north) in an area where parking is never an issue and things are a little removed from the city, offering up a nice Colorado experience. I’ve been here twice now, and both times I’ve had a beer in the tap room and had some dinner in their upstairs restaurant. The first time was a Saturday evening and the place was humming-a table for 2 was about an hour wait, so we grabbed a beer downstairs from the tap room(and enjoyed on the patio) while we waited. The tap room downstairs is a little small and can get crowded and loud pretty quickly, but nothing more than your usual bar or taproom. They always have 3 – 4 folks behind the bar so you won’t wait long, although with the number of options provided, you might need a few minutes anyway! The patio/outdoor space is perfect. They have summer lounge chairs with barrel tables, a bar with stools, and picnic tables with umbrellas. You can often find space out there, though sometimes it’s standing-the good news is there is plenty of shade to be had. The restaurant upstairs is also a little small, though food comes quickly so the turnaround time is surprisingly quick. The second time we came for dinner was for our anniversary, so we reserved a table and had no problems with that. This latest time I had the prime rib and holy smokes… it was probably 16 – 18 ounces and one of the better steaks I’ve ever had. The horseradish and jus that came with it really added to it. It came with a twice baked potato that I wasn’t even able to get to after stuffing myself with steak, but that looked equally tasty. Service here is phenomenal. Smiling friendly folks all the way around that are happy to offer beer and food suggestions, and making sure everything looks okay. For our anniversary dinner, they all wished us a happy one and even offered desert on them for the occasion. We were both too stuff to take them up on that, so they instead took 2 beers of our tab. Above and beyond! Avery is such a great brewery and now they have a great restaurant as well. The new space is beautiful and well put together, and that combination means they continue to be one of the best spots in the Boulder area, and probably even Colorado in general!

I must first confess that I’m a terrible person, and it’s taken me until now to stop into Avery’s new digs. They’ve come a long, long way from the warehouse. Swank new taproom(s) and delicious food aside, I was totally floored by the new brewery area. Get a beer and take the tour, you won’t regret it! I happened to stop in after a long bike ride on a hot day, so perhaps my enjoyment of the beer was influenced in some way. However, if you know a pleasure in life better than a fresh Joe’s on the patio in the summer sun while your legs do their best to become jelly, I’d like to know it. The beer selection is ridiculous. There were the standards, the seasonals, the Avery-only high-proof spirits masquerading as beers, and a growing selection of sours/wilds. The staff likes the beer just as much as you do, and they’re happy to steer you in the direction of a new favorite. The beer steals the show here, but it’s not for a lack of effort by the food. Had the Wings & Thighs, the pretzel, and the Crab cake po’ boy. The wings were meaty, cooked perfectly, and well sauced. The pretzel was enormous, wonderfully chewy, and the beer mustard on the side was incredible. The po’ boy was also enormous and a lovely combination of flavors — heavy on the crab, light on the cake — but I might have liked the fennel slaw even more than the sandwich. That’s likely a personal failing, I love a good slaw.

Great brewery! When we visited, they had a kid friendly dining area and a separate place to drink where kids were not allowed. My daughter enjoyed watching the brewers work and also the food off the kids menu. All the food we’ve gotten here has been quite good. So come to drink and stay to eat!

Probably my favorite brewery to visit during my entire trip to Colorado. The tour was very educational and it wasn’t just a pre-set boring tour of the facilities where the tour person was sort of in autopilot. Our tour guide was very engaging and added his personality to the information as well as using very easy language to understand for those who are not familiar with the brewing process. My favorite part of the tour was the last part where we did an educational beer tasting/sniff process and how warmth and natural light can turn beer into«Heineken». After the tour, I had a chance to try some tasters of the Raspberry Sour and the Eremita VI sour which weren’t super sour on the sourness scale but very refreshing on a warm Boulder late afternoon. My last stop was their store where I saw their cold case of bottles and I literally went crazy by spending more than $ 100 in limited edition gold wrapped brews that was only available to the public from there. I highly recommend checking out their cold case before leaving if you’re a sour or barrel aged beer fan. I didn’t get a chance to try their food or other brews but I plan to come back and spend a couple hours here to slowly enjoy a great meal and more than a couple tasters of beer.

Avery never disappoints! This was our first visit to the new brewery. Many years ago in a Unilocal review I asked them if they could expand! Boy, did they! They did it just right too! We have been coming to Avery since Adam and his Dad would serve samples for free in their tiny digs on Arapahoe. We have watched them grow over time and rightly so as their beer selection is out of this world. It is still to this day my favorite brewery and we have been to many in Colorado and California. I liked the new dining areas that have been added and the brewery is huge. The service is fantastic. Thanks, Avery for keeping the faith and keeping to your high standards with outstanding beers!

This place was fantastic! I really enjoyed their broad range of beers. Pierre, my bartender, was super friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about all of the beers on tap. He’s definitely one of the best bartenders I’ve had in some time. In terms of the set-up, I really liked the barrel theme for the whole brewery. Keep in mind there are three bars in total including one that is hidden inside the brewery proper and has a slightly different menu. The downstairs was super packed, but the upstairs bar was more manageable. I tried a few different beers, and my favorites were the sour ales they had including Quivering Lip, Karma Sutra, and Eremita IX. I also tried their Twenty-Three anniversary beer, but it was a bit too funky for me and sort of had the taste of a decent Belgian ale but mixed with brie. I ended out with the Goat Candy that was just as it was described. I really enjoyed the subtle apple and bourbon flavors. I had an awesome time at Avery and hope to come back soon. I didn’t get to try the food, but it looked and smelled great, so I’ll need to check some of it out next time.

Came here after hiking the Royal Arch Trail. We got the Meat, Meat, Meat(spare ribs, kielbasa sausage and chicken thigh). It was all delicious. The spare ribs fell right off the bone, the sausage was very flavorful and chicken was nice and juicy. The BBQ was tart and tangy, which I liked. The cornbread was good and the cold slaw had a tasty and refreshing mint vinaigrette. I got a sour beer which was yummy. The atmosphere was very nice and the servers were great!

Our second time here, we had a late lunch. Lucky we showed up when we did(about 1.30pm), it was about a 15 minute wait for a table of 4. Some people showed up for a table of 4 just before we were being seated and they were told it was a 30 minute wait. The service to order was slow but the food came out quickly and it was good. I had the bbq chicken sanga with collard greens, hubby had the ribs and my in-laws had the brisket and the po-boy Saturday special. Everyone really enjoyed their food. Ribs were cooked really nicely & the collard greens were really good. We had a few different beers. My Clio wasn’t there this time so that was sad, the others that I had were nice but not as memorable as the Clio.

I think as far as breweries go, this was probably one of my favorite experiences because of the wide variety of experiences you can have at Avery. There is a self guided brewery tour where you can go into the brewery(beware, it’s loud!) and get drinks at the bar that holds about 8 – 9 of their beers on tap. They actually have probably over 30 beers at the brewery and some very rare ones so definitely check out all the available bars. Downstairs, there’s a sort of «pub» where you can sit at the bar and get the entire tap list. They have high boys & a nice outdoor area for warmer days. It was freezing when I went so we tried not to be outside. Upstairs there’s a store that has a lot of cool Avery gear, and a dining room /restaurant that presumably serves similar food to the pub but is just more civilized for families. The whole place is huge, and their beers are great, many are 17%!!! … awesome experience indeed!

Loved everything! Nachos, chicken legs & thighs combo, brisket and of course the beer. I’m not an IPA fan but they have a range of beers that were much to my liking! We our of towners but we definitely plan on coming back.

Fantastic experience! This is by far the best total package brewery! I’ve been to ALOT of breweries and so far this place has it down! This spot has a restaurant upstairs and a tasting room with and outdoor patio downstairs. Also, you can walk through the factory a watch the magic happen. You can send the entire day here, I did!!. The service is great, however the bar downstairs can get a bit crowded. Oh and the food, fantastic! I I’ll definitely visit again when I return to Colorado.

This place was a good time. Lots of seating inside upstairs and downstairs and outside. I WISH I had eaten there because everyone’s foods looked incredible! I had the El Gose which was really refreshing — a lighter beer with just the right amount of sour.

Avery has got it going on. They have 2 levels, 2 bars, an outdoor seating area, and guided or self-guided tours through the brewing area. The selection of beer is extensive and I’m sure that anyone can find something to their taste. My favorite was the Chai Brown. The hint of chai flavor made it quite unique. They also offer limited edition runs, which you will see flyers for around the brewery. I was honestly impressed with the variation and uniqueness of the flavors. I love breweries that also offer a menu, and Avery’s is stacked. They offer daily specials and plenty of other treats. I had a cup of the Gumbo and I really should have gone for the bowl. It was packed full of seafood, a bit of rice and a small amount of spice that didn’t overpower it. I went with the Green Salad for my side. While not mind-blowing, it was certainly worth $ 4 because of the fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed the burger and the onion soup, but the gumbo was the clear winner. Avery makes me wish that I lived in Colorado, because I would certainly be a regular here. Keep in mind that it does get packed!

This place is excellent, top to bottom and start to finish. A great and wide-ranging menu that includes several creative and tasty vegetarian and vegan options, and about 30 zillion housemade beers on tap. Servers were friendly, funny and on top of their shit. And the interior décor is quite beautiful, especially the wood paneling behind the bar. If I had thirty-seven thumbs, I’d give this place the thirty-seven thumbs up. Go here and do yourself up right.

I ate at Avery this weekend when it was 70 degrees out in February and it was fantastic. We sat outside on the patio with our dog– which alot of people did. There were doggies everywhere. We sampled several items off the food menu and they were all perfect. The legs and thighs tasted incredible. The burger was super juicy. The green side salad was even fancy! One of my fav things is there is a field across the street with a pack of prarie dogs. I have never seen them before and they kept us entertained. The staff here all have personalities which keeps it fun. Parking is ample, facilities are clean. Oh, and they have beer.

Ahh this was one of my favorite breweries!!! I had no idea it was going to be SO huge, they would offer SO many beers to choose from, and they offered amazing food!!! Where do I start? Okay the inside/outside of the brewery is just beautiful. We sat inside while they kept the doors open so we could enjoy the awesome weather while enjoying the amazing view of the Rockies as we enjoyed delicious beer!!! I had a flight of 5 – 6 beers. The Madam Goddess was my favorite!!! Too bad they didn’t sell any bottles for me to take home. The food was great! They had lots of beer swag to choose from. I can’t wait to come back here and do a tour!

Was on vacation in Colorado visiting family and this place was recommended by a friend. I was VERY impressed by the extensive beer menu, with descriptions and various size amounts available. Essentially you could order a taster of several beers to find that perfect one… without breaking the bank. We came here for a snack but wished we stayed for dinner. The cheese curds were great, the beer was great and the atmosphere was laid back. If you are visiting, make sure to check them out and also order the beers that are only available at the brewery so you won’t miss out! Next time we are in Colorado, we will be back here for sure.

This Avery recently opened beginning of 2015 according to my friend, so by the time I left Boulder, this place had not yet existed. Oh how I wish this place was here in my college days for its large taproom area downstairs and restaurant section upstairs. This location is a huge upgrade from the old site on Arapahoe and 55th with ample parking and seating area! FOOD: I had the Friday lunch fish and chips. The portion size is generous, fish fried well, and overall was pretty good. The BBQ looked popular here too. For $ 16, it was a bit pricey, but was better than most brewery’s food. DRINKS: The best! Sadly, finding Avery in Northern California is challenging(but easier to find in New York/New Jersey, go figure), so I always get excited with the brews and their evolving options. With so many tap room only pours, you cannot go wrong. I thoroughly enjoy their sours and their IPA(extra extra hoppy!), but there are options for everybody. SERVICE: Very good! Sadly, I did not catch the name of our waitress’s name and she wasn’t wearing a name tag, so I could not write my great review on the comment card(so I’m here on Unilocal!). Patient, attentive, and always full of recommendations and willing to pour sample pours. Definitely reminds me of good old Colorado hospitality and laid back Boulder vibe. I love Avery and will always visit when I come home to Colorado. Always a home run hit for me!
