Had the pleasure of tasting a few of the wines at a local farmers market. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and made excellent suggestions. I only tasted the reds and was so pleased. I loved that each wine seemed to have a story. I will certainly be stopping by the tasting room next time I am in town.

This place is wonderful. Their wine is diverse and all of them are smooth and the flavors developed. I highly recommend this winery. Come in for a tasting. I promise you will not be disappointed

Great service and excellent wines. We enjoyed all the reds we tasted. We started enjoying their wines 3 years ago and have been very pleased.

This was the third tasting room some friends and I stopped at after a morning hike outside Boulder. I must say I wish it had been our first and only. Not only was the wine better than either of the other two in the shopping center, the staff was much more friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The cost of the tasting was half of what the other two were charging at only $ 5. Don’t let that fool you into double sampling through, the pours here were good size ¼ glass pours, unlike the other two barely pouring an 1⁄8. Additionally, they were the only tasting room of the three that mentioned the punch card and free wine glass for visiting all three. Lastly, their prices for bottles were so reasonable. They are doing things right here at BookCliff. If/when I come back I think I will stick to this tasting room only.

We love this winery on «winery row» in Boulder. The tasting is $ 5 for five pours and you get it back if you buy a couple bottles. We always have a good time, and our server was very helpful in choosing wines. My favorites here are their whites. I think they make the best Colorado white wines in the region. The Viognier(I think I spelled that right) is delicious! I also like the Riesling. It has a fruity yet crisp taste. We will be back again. If you go to all three wineries and get a card punched, you get a free glass.

Excellent wines, as well as service. I wasn’t such a fan of Colorado wines, but Brookcliff winery definitely changed my thinking. I would highly recommend their tasting. 5 wines for $ 5 you can’t find that anywhere else. They’re doing an excellent job.

Fun spot. Good wines. We are coming from NorCal so we are a bit picky about our reds. Good table red wines. Not super jammy like some California reds. Overall pleasantly surprised. Super friendly & knowledgeable staff.

I absolutely LOVED our visit to BookCliff. 5-taster wine flights for $ 5! That price is hard to be ANYWHERE. And their wines are all VERY tasty! We tasted a couple of the whites, many of the reds and even two of the«dessert”/sweet wines and we were so impressed with everything. Justin, the assistant winemaker, was behind the counter helping us, willing to answer questions and speak Wino with us. He was so friendly and obviously, very knowledgeable. He really made our visit special. We never felt rushed. We left with two great bottles of wine(which are very affordable!): the Chardonnay and the Malbec. Because we bought two bottles of wine, one of our tasting fees was waived. How nice! I imagine this will become a regular stop for us. Just wonderful!

A rainy day turned in to a super fun day as we explored some wineries and breweries in Boulder. BookCliff definitely exceeded my expectations. They have a cute little place for tastings which looks in to the back where all the wine is being made. There were 2 other groups tasting, but we got plenty of attention with our group of 4 ladies. $ 5 for 5 tastings, we ended up buying six bottles so the tasting fees were waived. I loved the Cab Sauv, Tempranillo, and Ensemble. The Cab Franc was tasty as well and the Malbec. We got a mini tour of the back as well which was neat. There was a giant tub of malbec grapes that they had just started using. The lady in front and then wine maker in back were very friendly and didn’t mind lots of questions! Can’t wait to go back.

It’s hard to beat a personalized wine tasting for five bucks. They let you choose five selections from a list of eighteen 2010 through 2012 wines. If you buy two bottles, they apply your $ 5 towards the purchase. It’s a great deal, and a pleasant way to spend half an hour to boot. The young lady(I’m sorry that I don’t recall her name) who was working that afternoon was a good conversationalist and did not overhype the wines or pressure us to buy. She seemed forthright but diplomatic with her opinions. For the first half of our visit, we had her all to ourselves, but later a few other groups came in. I’m glad to see them doing well. A few selections were just so-so, but most were solid or better. Our favorites were the Cabernet Franc Reserve 2010 and the Muscat Blanc 2010. In the end, we bought only one bottle, the Muscat Blanc, because we were travelling home by air and luggage space was limited. But I would recommend BookCliff either for an enjoyable weekend afternoon activity or a local source for wines for your next gathering, or just stocking up your own supply.

A very nice little tasting room with a good assortment of both reds and whites. They are very friendly and bottles are very reasonably priced. I would recommend the Viognier for fans of any whites and the Ensemble for fans of the reds.

Great service. Lots of wines to taste. Nice little tasting room. This winery is in a Stor-It-All type building a few doors down from Upslope Brewery. We dropped in for a tasting and had a fantastic time. As others have said, tasting is $ 5 to try 5 wines, but that $ 5 can be applied to a purchase of 2 bottles of wine. The other patrons were friendly and made recommendations to us. They had a good variety, something for everyone. We will definitely be back when in town!

The rundown — 5 tastings for $ 5 — can be applied to a wine purchase if you so desire: 1– Chard was not my style, but I wont knock them for that. They seem to be subscribing to the non-malolactic model… typical, uneventful representation for the style. 2– 2009 Cab Franc was a little fragmented & «young». I did not get the impression that it would settle down quickly enough to sustain an overall quality. Initial taste is on the right track but it falls apart by the finish. 3– Ensemble was novel — would have a glass with food, but not buy a bottle. 4– Black Muscat — lacking full body, fruitiness expected with a black. Acidic, high vapor/hot and not very sweet. 5– there was a #5 but the Mr and I cannot recall what it was… even after trying to jog our memories using the website. — Muscat Blanc — a «complimentary offering» before we left — their most recent release, yet to be labeled — quite good. Smoothest wine I had tasted of the bunch. We were originally tasting 10 but we seemed to be ignored, the sommelier opting to serve the 3 other couples, passing us up often — so we closed out at 5 and left. Perhaps some of the other wines would show better, but I would not return or revisit a bottle based on what I tasted.

On a trip back from Estes Park this weekend I was inspired to check out a few Colorado Wineries. I followed my GPS to the address for BookCliff Vineyards. It is in a non-descript strip mall for lack of better terms. Don’t let the location fool you. You walk in to a pleasant tasting room with a nice view of the fermenting tanks for a back drop. Ulla one of the owners was working the tasting room. She was so pleasant and accommodating. My bf and I were the only ones there at the time and she took us in back and gave a tour of their tanks, etc. The wines are delicious. I am not a huge fan of reds but they have a delicious light red called Friday’s Folly which is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah. It the perfect wine for me as I start trying more adventurous reds. Also a lot of Colorado wineries purchase their grapes from BookCliff. Their vineyards are located in Palisade but their is no tasting room there. All in all it was a thoroughly pleasant experience. Ulla even directed us to a great eatery in downtown Boulder.

BookCliff is my most recent discovery on my Colorado wine journey. The tasting room moved from Pearl Street about a year and a half ago to a new location a bit out of town but toward Boulder Creek Winery if you wanted to hit up both. Augustina’s is also nearby. My mom, brother, husband and I had the tasting room to ourselves and had an awesome afternoon. The tasting fee is $ 4 for 5 wines and can be refunded with the purchase of three bottles. Since we purchased a few, we paid just $ 12 for us all to taste(ie you don’t get all the tasting fees refunded). Typically I see the fee refunded with just one bottle purchased, not three, however I got over this quickly when I realized I liked many of their wines and quite a few were the most affordable I’ve seen in Colorado. Most notable is their Tempranillo because you won’t find that anywhere else in the state. I also learned that many of the other Colorado wineries like Balistreri, Bonacquisti and Boulder Creek purchase their grapes from the BookCliff vineyard in Palisade. I liked their cabernet franc and viognier while everyone in our group loved the muscat… not something any of us would normally go for. My favorites though were the white and red blends: red called Friday’s Folly at only $ 10.99 and the white called Lucky Twenty at $ 9.99. Friday’s Folly is a smooth but bright blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah… a perfect easy-drinking table wine for burgers and pizzas. I have no trouble finding more expensive wines to love but at this price I was excited. Lucky Twenty is a blend of the viognier, chardonnay and muscat. It’s a tad sweeter than a typical white table wine but our pourer Ulla compared it to Conundrum and Evolution which are easy to find but more expensive. Seemed like a perfect hot summer night wine so we snatched up some bottles. Tiny but cute operation, and really worth a visit.

Here’s a piece of trivia for you: BookCliff is one of the few places you can actually purchase alcohol on a Sunday in the great state of Colorado. :) This is because they make their own wine.(And it’s tasty wine, too.) The vineyard itself is actually in Palisade, CO, but the tasting room is right downtown on Pearl Street. They make(like every other vineyard) cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, and merlot… and those are all pretty good. But what makes BookCliff stand out in my mind are their dessert wines. Their Adagio dessert wine is made from black muscat and smells amazing. It’s sweet without being overly so and it’s perfect paired with any sort of rich, creamy dessert. Mmm. Be sure to visit BookCliff often, their wine selection changes from time to time based on what they’re bottling this year. (-1) star for: …I’m not really sure… but I reserve 5 stars for places that have that«something extra» and while BookCliff is great(and I highly recommend it), it doesn’t quite reach my 5 star level. :)
