I knew they worked with the ski swap which i was going to miss. I called them and 2 people told me to drive down and it wouldn’t be a problem to take my skis to the swap for me. When I got there the owner said they were wrong, too bad. A better solution would have been to have honor what his employees told me and take the skis to the swap for me, or maybe say sorry for the confusion… for making you drive an hour take 25% off your next purchase.

I received terrible service here and I have been skiing in Boulder for over 20 years and am training for the Birkenbeiner. I waited for over a half an hour before I was even greeted, then I was«accidentally» charged 350 dollars for a pair of 180 dollar boots. When I returned them there was no apology. My very expensive Swix pole broke the third time out, at Eldora, and the company did not replace it, saying«something heavy must have been placed on top of it.» Go here only if you want to spend a lot of money and be treated incredibly poorly.

Maybe if you live in Boulder and personally visit the store you get good service, but my attempts to order my wife’s Salomon S-Lab Vitane Skate Boot was anything but positive. Placed the order, card was charged, and then three days later received a call telling me that that size was out of stock; but wait we have another style that we will let you have for same price. Asked if I could think about it and told them I would get back within 24 hours. When I called to order it I was told that«we never would have offered you another product cheaper» and«I suggest you go on-line and order the boot ‘you claim we offered you’ at the discounted price. In other words I was being dismissed from this individual who thought I must be lying. I attempted to rectify the situation professionally and was treated like I was a thief! I WOULDNEVERRECOMMENDTHISBUSINESSTOANYONE, EVER! Seems like they love the«bait & switch» routine and when you question them YOURTHELIAR!

Talk about a quality experience, this is it! I knew that I needed to replace my nordic boots last year and am glad I waited until now. I have had some foot problems recently so I need to re-evaluate size and style of all kinds of footwear. I can barely wear some items I bought as recently as April. I had looked at fall stock of all kinds of footwear and could not decide what to do for some categories, but being optimistic about snow and potential activity for winter, decided to start with new nordic boots. I looked at my regular places and did not see anything different than what I usually buy as an occasional and recreational level skier. I had seen the stock at the original tiny location of this shop a few years ago but it was geared only to high end competitors. Now that they have such a large space, they are stocking a wider variety of gear but still a bit more high end than I would need if my feet were fine. However, I have complicated fit issues now so I am willing to move up a bit on quality. The staff was excellent. Though clearly a competitor himself, the salesman did everything possible to find a boot, both style and size appropriate, for someone like me, with absolute respect towards my lesser abilities. It was a rare pleasure in these sort of specialty shops. I thought the selection was very extensive so I am surprised by the other review. I have never been offered so many options to try on, and this early in the season, every size of each style seemed to be in stock. It was a great learning experience. I did find a boot that felt great, even on my bad foot. At first, I thought I would think about it until I saw snow and also hopefully improvement in my foot. After I got home, I realized that there wasn’t going to be anything better later, given how much I had looked elsewhere and how much they had in stock, so I called back and had them hold the boots until the next day. I went in and got them, and even found a summer clearance sport item that I had searched for all summer but not found at my usual places, so I got that too. I will always check here in the future, because sometimes the right quality of product and service, no matter the price, is so worth it.

Wow wow, there are no reviews here! I guess all the customers are out skiing. I’ve recently become obsessed with nordic ski sports, so have spent a lot of time here recently. I enjoy that the employees there are really into the sport — adding to the collection of Boulder shops who employ enthusiasts. They have both a service shop(downstairs) and sales(upstairs). Their prices may not be rock bottom, but the idea here is clearly to offer service and knowledge. And as with any enthusiast store, they don’t really stock junk. Therefore it’s not cheap. They have a great, but limited choices in classic, skating, touring and AT gear. The limited selection is great for someone like me who hates the overabundance of choices!

These guys are really great. They made a little mistake in my bindings but fixed it right away without hassle. I only went to them because I heard great things from other people, and I live in Denver so it’s not super convenient, but I’d make the drive again to visit them for my cross country skiing needs. Thanks!
