Design Within Reach

If I had a windfall of money, I would furnish my flat here. But I don’t so I’ve only bought a few pieces here. The service is always friendly and I appreciate their style in Boulder.

Design Within Reach in Boulder is a really great place. All the staff are relaxed, friendly and very knowledgeable and passionate about design and their products. Morgan has been absolutely amazing, helping us with arranging our house and finding just the right pieces. She’s also been dedicated to making sure that everything we have received is perfect and as it should be. Design Within Reach carries high quality, well-​made furnishings that will last a long time. They are timeless classics that will always look great.

I needed a nice office chair and I stopped in and the owner, Kevin, helped me get set up with a Herman Miller Aeron Chair. Usually I scour online to find the best deals, but DWR had the same price as everywhere online for the Aeron Chairs. Unfortunately, when the chair arrived, it had been damaged during shipment (no fault of DWR). I notified the owner and he was extremely responsive and communicative in getting the issue resolved quickly. They shipped a replacement chair and took away the old one and I am happy and comfortable during my long hours in front of the computer. I know DWR has expensive (but beautiful) stuff, but it’s worth it to me knowing that I will be well taken care of if anything goes wrong.

Not within my reach, but I did love looking at some of the exquisitely designed furniture. Even though some of the stuff was on sale, It was not within my reach. BUT i did get some ideas about redecorating my home. I might wait and get the stash together to actually go buy a few things from here. Its really exquisite!

I really do like most of the stuff in this store… clean modern minimalist designs… but can i make a suggestion so that the name isn’t so misleading…
Design Way The F$%k Out of Reach!

Such a cute lil shop, every time, the Mrs. & I stroll by, we come up with lots of Ideas (we’re crafty). I love good design, most of the time it pays for itself due to the quality. Although as of late, even the past wonderful design houses, such as Alessi are outsourcing to China :(
As far as being «Within Reach» I’m more of a Craigslist kinda guy, I paid ¹⁄₃ as much for my Starck Bubble Club Chair & Sofa than DWR. Don’t get me wrong they have some good sales, and great clearance prices sometimes. The staff are great, very friendly with no attitude, an excellent service. If I had less time & more $$$, I would just shop here, lol. The prices are really no different, than if you were to go to pottery barn, or even some traditional furniture stores. The latter is just not my style.

Thank god this place is here! It’s VERY difficult to find good modern furniture around here since there’s no IKEA (must stop complaining about absence of IKEA)… Yes, DWR is expensive. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. BUT, that’s where you need to figure out your priorities. If design is of high importance in your life like it is in mine, it’s worth splurging once in a while. If not, this place is definitely not for you. You don’t have to buy everything at once. Just save up through a few paychecks and you’d be surprised how much you can afford here. That’s what I’m doing; buying one item at a time. It’s actually fun fantasizing over their stuff knowing that in a few weeks, I could actually afford something. I’d much rather drop the money on well-​designed furniture that I can keep forever than pay a decent amount of money on stuff I’d want get rid of next year.
I just purchased an awesome shelf for a little over $ 200. I don’t think that’s bad at all considering I paid almost just as much for an ok-​looking shelf at The Container Store. The guy who helped me out was very helpful and knowledgeable about their stuff. There are furniture out there that are produced in much limited numbers which are more expensive than DWR. It’s all relative.

The name cracks my up every time. If by «within reach» they mean you can touch the products, then it’s apropos. But if «within reach» is supposed to mean within my budget (I’m pretty sure this is the meaning intended)… that’s when I start laughing my ass off.
They do have very cool modern furniture, but it is definitely one of the most expensive places around to buy modern furniture. I’d recommend going there to scope out things you like then doing your homework online. I can guarantee you can find the same items for less.
