Recently moved to gunbarrel and am super glad I decided to go to this store. The owner is awesome and super friendly and helpful. He told me any beers I’d like to see there he would do his best to get it for me. Never seen a liquor store with such great customer service. They were so nice that they even gave me a whiskey sign for my girlfriends birthday. If your around the area strongly recommend to stop and and get to know them and pick up some fine Colorado brews. Will absolutely be going back! And thanks for the brownie points with the girlfriend!

I have been hear several times when looking for some shooters or quick drinks and they have only disappointed once in terms of product availability. As this is the only liquor store choice in the local area you would pretty much have to drive to Boulder or Niwot in order to get other choices. The service has always been pretty good, the store looks a bit cluttered but that is pretty much expected with a liquor store. As our office is right across the street we will continue going here for our immediate needs.

This place is a great neighborhood liquor store. Loren is super-friendly and knowledgeable about everything he stocks. A great local business! I read some other reviews that were upset about getting ID’d but that the way it is in Boulder. The police are always on the hunt and I absolutely understand why they check everyone’s ID. thumbs up.

Great, family run joint! Wine tastings most Fridays, closed Sunday. The staff is friendly, they have a nice overall selection. Tons of micros, good advice on wine.

Love my new neighborhood liquor store! Every employee I’ve come across goes above and beyond, offering great wine suggestions and banter. Just wish they were open on Sunday.

I want to thank Loren(new owner of Gunbarrel Liquor) for everything and share how unbelievable great his customer care is. The other night he was so generous and took the time to help me. He immediately stopped from going home(actually he had already made it to the parking lot, but turned around when he saw me coming to the front of the store) and took extra time to help me find more wines to sampling for our upcoming wedding. People rarely have actions that match their kind words. It’s rare to meet such a genuine person and I know he really means it when he says he is there to help me. I am still in shock that he remember me since I had only met him once before about a month ago. I am very impressed. I cant tell you how nice it was to be remembered. Thank you Loren for your guidance and recommendations on wines. Gunbarrel is lucky to have you!

I used to stop here for my liquor purchases on my way home from work, as I work down the street, but I won’t anymore thanks to one of their HORRIBLE employees. The men who work the cash register are nice enough, but there is an older woman who works here who seems to think she is the store bulldog. The first time I encountered her I was looking for a specific wine that the store did not carry, so I left. Keep in mind I am a professional looking person in business casual work attire, not a bum or a kid with no money(sorry if that’s not politically correct). As I was exiting the store, the woman called out to me demanding to know if I had found what I was looking for; I smiled and said no, but thank you. She stormed out after me as I was walking towards my car, placed her hands on my purse, and ordered me to open it. Mortified that we were observed by several onlookers, I complied. She rifled through my bag and, of course, found nothing. No apology from her, just: «Next time ask me for help!» I told her I was offended by all of this, as I’m a regular customer. «Too bad!» This was several months ago and recently again I risked coming to this store. Again, I did not find what I was looking for and left, this time with no purse on me and clearly nowhere to hide merchandise. Again, this woman argued with me at the door asking if I hadn’t found what I was looking for and I left feeling like a criminal. I did not know it was considered a crime to enter a store and leave without purchasing anything, but apparently at Gunbarrel Liquor it is. I will certainly never come here again.

The long story short is: it works. If you’re in the area and hankering for some quick and convenient booze, this is the place for you. Unless, of course, it’s Sunday in which case you’re out of luck no matter what time it is. Gunbarrel Liquor doesn’t have a vast selection but if you’re looking for the basics you can swing by this little hole and pick it up. I’m pretty torn on the customer service since half the time they seem a bit rough and short and the other half friendly and helpful; I guess it just depends on who’s working. All in all, since you live in Gunbarrel and don’t feel like driving 10 min to another liquor store, this place is pretty good. On Sundays you’ll just have to get your booze on at church.

I am a fan. While I was always a Liquor Mart guy when I lived in town, we live north now and I am very happy to call Gunbarrel my new local shoppe for alcohol… decent prices, friendly, fast staff. — P. S. Love the tattooed fingers.

Who tries to make you feel guilty for wanting to buy alcohol on Sunday? Never stepping foot in here again
