Avoid this place!!! So I paid $ 150 for a Brazilian blowout and it didn’t really turn out how I had anticipated. So I call up to see if it can be redone. Rescheduled the correction with the owner. I accidentally made a mistake on my work schedule thinking i was off that day, so I called the night prior to have it rescheduled for after work/​other time. The lady at the desk said she’d leave a note for the owner. Low and behold she never passed the info along! I came up to the salon after numerous attempts to get ahold of her for rescheduling my appt. The owner accused me of a no show! I tried to talk to her but she was extremely rude (said she was with a customer and that she’d call me… also mumbled that she didn’t have time for no shows). I got some bad looks from everyone in there, even knowing I wasn’t in the wrong. I definitely do not feel like my business was regarded professionally. The rudeness was completely uncalled for, and why in the hell would I want her to do my hair after that interaction??! How unprofessional. Never going back.

My sister and I have been getting our haircut by Joy for the past 12 years. We both have crazy thick hair and have lived all over the country — at other salons you say you want to keep it long but want some shape, and you get a run of the mill haircut every time — often they thin it and mess it up. I inevitably schedule a «fixing» appointment with Joy when I’m back in Colorado — and she does the best drycut. I am pretty sure she can revive any bad haircut — a saint! I now just try to get back to Colorado twice a year — and she gives me beautiful cuts that last the 6 months… I love this woman and I love her salon! Highly recommend!

Does not offer free haircuts when donating to Lock of Love, even when hair is longer than 10 inches.
(I called to confirm this over the phone and was not told that I was incorrect. It wasn’t until I was in the chair, hair banded and moments away from getting it cut. I was very disappointed the receptionist did not inform me that they do not participate in free haircuts when donating to Locks of Love.)
*Though Unilocal lists Salon Liquid as a location for «free haircut Locks of Love», be sure to call any of these salons and get a clear response if they actually participate in this.

They do a great job and take their time, I would highly recommend. My only criticism is that they don’t use organic products, if they change to organic products I would rate 5 stars.

Great hair cut by Allie, BUT I didn’t come here to have a dog jump on me and bark the whole time I was having my hair styled!!! WTF???
You should add an extra tip to Allie’s efforts for having to put up with that. I don’t think I’ll come back if this is the experience you offer!!!

Though I live a little ways away, I would definitely get a cut here again if I was in the area.
My previous hair cut was a product of different visions between myself and the stylist and so I ended up wearing a hat for a month till it was ready for another hair cut. They were able to schedule me in as a drop-​in, which was great since it was a last minute decision to get one.
The person who had cut my hair did a great job in fixing what was going on, and had pointed out some other mistakes made by the previous stylist.
That being said, if you got a bad hair cut and need it fixed, this might be the place for you.
Also, if you are in need of a great hair cut, this may also be a great place for you.
Give it a try, the people here are friendly.

Awful experience. They don’t even have a waiting area. Their WiFi is locked but whatever. It’s pricy but I assume it’s because I’m going to get a skilled person.
First they were late for my appointment. Then the shampoo was totally weak. My cat cleans my hair better than this girl did. No anything.
Finally we get to the actual haircut. Then I told her what I wanted. Long layers and an angle on my face. It took a whole of ten minutes after she ripped out my hair with a comb that wasn’t in sanitizing solution so who knows if it was actually clean since I didn’t see any way to clean it. Also she was shouting to her coworkers across the room the ENTIRE TIME. Complaining about her job and having to do double shifts on Sunday. Are you kidding me? Who complains about working, while their working with a customer right there? No wonder I got such a bad haircut.
Also she smelled terrible which wouldn’t be so bad except she’s cutting your hair which means their arms are up basically the entire time.
It was completely unprofessional. I would expect this at a supercuts (and I’ve been to a supercuts and the ones I’ve been to have actually been way more professional) but not a $ 55 hair cut place.
And I have two lengths in my hair now, not exactly what I meant when I said long layers. It’s the laziest haircut ever. No face angle, no nothing. I wish I never got my hair cut.
It was expensive and my hair looks worse than when I went in. Honestly next time I’ll try super cuts because then when I get a shitty haircut at least I won’t be out of nearly a day’s worth of pay.

I made a last minute appointment because I couldn’t take my faded, orange, balayage anymore and I needed a cut and all-​over, single process color to get me back to my roots. I had Kaleigh as a stylist. She was pleasant, did a good color, and talked about how she learned how to cut hair from an old-​style barber. I asked for my hair to be texturized a little to make it more manageable, because I have A LOT of hair. I trusted her… even though I expressed hesitations about the razor and thinning shears she pulled out. Now, I have LESS THAN ¹⁄₃ of my hair left – especially at the ends! I used to have luscious thick hair that barely fit in an elastic hair tie, and now I have to wrap it around three or four times to secure it. It is SO THIN. I feel like all my hair is gone… and because its texturized, it will take FOREVER to grow back. Please proceed with caution, and be careful… if you say you want a little weight taken out, its possible nearly ALL your hair will be gone!

I am an out of towner who reached stage-​critical shaggy, haven’t-had-a-cut-in-5-months, get-​these-​bangs-​out-​of-​my-​eyes phase during my visit to Boulder. I was first attracted to Salon Liquid by its proximity to the Pearl Street mall area. I was then surprised to find that they had a page full of happy Unilocalers. I appreciated how easy it was to make a last minute appointment (for even the same day), and also excited by the happy hour prices. Happy hour runs 10am-​12pm and 8pm-​10pm and, as others have stated, is CASH ONLY. Because of the popularity of the discounted times, the stylists might not run exactly on time. This wasn’t a huge issue for me, but just keep it in mind if you’re on a strict schedule.

I came here during their happy hour for a haircut. $ 35 you really can’t beat that for a quality cut! My hair stylist (I think her name was Vanessa??) was really great. I pretty much gave her free reign to do whatever she wanted I just told her what length I wanted it. She did a really great job and stuck to the length I requested and gave me a flattering cut.

Been here 3 times now and Kaleigh is by far the best stylist/​colorist I have had in a long time. Extremely pleased with the results. She was also very pleasant company :) Thanks, I will be back!

Kelli Burris is the best barber that I have ever been to! I have never had a better experience with a barber, who is as personable, experienced, charismatic or professional as Kelli. It is so nice to get the service that is provided at Salon Liquid, specifically with Kelli. Kelli is a trained barber, and is able to handle much more than the standard haircut. She can take care of everything you are in need of, from hair cut, color and other high end salon services to trimming, shaping and grooming your beard and other services. Her station is always as clean as possible, and I have never seen her without a smile on her face. Good job Kelli!

I’ve had Kelli do my color for over 5 years. Compliments follow me everywhere because of her expertise. She is also a master barber and stylist. It always feels good to give your business to someone deserving and that person is Kelli!

Kelli Burris is such a fantastic colorist/​barber. Besides being über-​talented, she completely puts you at ease with her knowledge of what will look best on you, all the while incorporating your vision. The results are perfection! Plus she’s such a sweetie! Relatable, funny, she makes you feel right at home.
I had been holding off dying my hair to try and let it grow — I came in wanting to darken my overall hair color, but also to add some «baby lights» (more natural highlights). She worked with me on what would look best for my skin tone so as not to wash me out (I have dark brown hair, but get super pale in the winter).
Having come here on and off since before the name change, I always know the service will be exceptional. They’re almost always able to get me in within the same day or at the longest within 24 hours. Amazing staff! The prices are fairly standard, but if you’re on a budget, make sure to check out their Happy Hour prices (just know it’s cash only for Happy Hour, but you can’t beat the prices!)
I could not be happier, and they know they have a loyal customer! The next time you need anything — cut/​color/​you name it — ask for Kelli!

Joy is wonderful! She knows just what you need — and sometimes, it’s more than a haircut. She’s like therapy and pampering… and wine with your best friend, on a summer day — all wrapped into one bubbly package.
I was SUPER late to my last appointment. We’ve all been to salons where the super b!$chy behind-​the-​desk-​girl says she’s sorry, in that NOT so sorry voice, as she crosses you off the schedule. Instead, Joy hugged me, still kept my appointment — even took her time, giving me extra special care. Boy, did I need it!
The icing on the cake (for me) is that she does ethnic hair. She was trained by an amazing mentor in the south, where she gained extensive experience in black hair. And now, here she is in Boulder County! Whuh? It is a beautiful thing. She’s amazing! If you’ve not had Joy do your hair, you are truly missing out. She’s a rare talent.

I drive 30 minutes to get an honest opinion and fabulous hair services! Joy is fantastic and for this reason I come every six weeks. I am fanatic about my hair and I highly recommend Salon Liquid!

I went here last second when I needed a quick cut. I thought it was an awesome location, my stylist was great and personable. It wasn’t overtly priced. I’ll be going back.

Have been here a few times and got decent haircuts but the last time I went in I waited almost half an hour past the time for my scheduled appointment and neither stylist was going to be ready for at least another 15 minutes. Nobody even acknowledged that they were running late. If you don’t have time to do a haircut then don’t schedule one for that time. I work too hard for my money (in a place with a lot of salons) to waste a bunch of time. Even if they had acknowledged they were running late it would have made a difference.

So, since I work a bit away from where I live, I have to occasionally change it up on where I get my hair did. My long-​time girl is in DTC, the one near my house was at work while I was at work, so i’ve been trying to find a place in Boulder. I work on Pearl, so I decided to check out Salon Liquid today, and I’m happy I did!
I have a pretty standard guy style (undercut), but I like it pretty clean and tight, and Salina did awesome. I didn’t have to really explain what I wanted, and she just took the reins and did work. Excellent shampoo/​condition/​scalp massage too.
I’ll be back for sure!
