The Parlour

I am really so sorry to give this review, but I can’t go without noting this.
I’ve been going to The Parlour for over seven years with alright results, but my last haircut was the final straw. Not only did my hair still have split ends (right after the cut!), but it was uneven and just plain messy. Everyone in my family and close friends were blunt with me: my hair looks awful.
I have no idea why anyone would ever let their client out of their chair with the haircut I received, but I am sorely disappointed.
My long, beautiful hair is going to need a seriously good stylist to fix it (as well as a few inches taken off to deal with the issues). I’m not sure if it was just a really bad day for my stylist, but I look at my hair every day and realize what a mess it is now. Especially for the price I pay for my haircut.

This place is good but you need to find a stylist that works for you. I have had three different people cut my hair (wavy, long hair) and only one of them (Chelsea) is great! And she is the only one I go back to. I’m a little picky with my hair, but it’s a good solid place. They offer you a drink at the beginning, too :)

I first went to the Fort Collins Parlour about two years ago. Having Asian hair (thick, wavy, and often dry) can be tricky and challenging. It was difficult for me to find a place in Boulder. I used to trek all the way to Aurora in fear someone would screw my hair up.
But, all that anxiety is now gone. I enjoy every visit to the Parlour. Every stylist is wonderful, nice, and so insightful to taking care of your hair.
I appreciate the wonderful work Rachel just did. In addition, I really appreciated her knowledge and shed light owards maintaining healthy hair. I had no clue how to keep my hair sleek and smooth after a shower. She’s so helpful.
They also allow you to do pre-​booking, like the dentist, but less painful. My ignorance all these years, I just didn’t realize there was the option of pre-​booking a hair appt. LOVE IT.

I have not colored my hair in 6 years due to PTSD from a bad highlight. I have dark brown hair and wanted a deep cherry red. My friend recommended Heather at The Parlour in Boulder as a stylist who specializes in red color. Heather was absolutely phenomenal. She spent 10 minutes consulting with me to make sure we had the right color picked out and that I was realistic about what the results would be. It came out absolutely perfect and she gave me the EXACT cut I wanted too. I don’t have to tell you how rare it is to find a hairstylist who can translate your exact vision into real life.
I drove to Boulder from Denver and will now do so every month to have Heather redo my red color. I love it so much I don’t ever want to go back to brunette. All my friends and coworkers have commented on what a great color it is for my skintone and hows she did a great job. I really could not be happier and can not recommend Heather enough.

I’ve been going to Chelsea for about six months. I live in Denver and trust me this place is worth the drive!
I’m a «Texas» blonde and have been getting highlights for 13 years. I’ve had a hard time finding someone in Colorado to give me the color I want and to do such a thorough job! My foils are always right at my scalp too, which means lasting coverage. Never have I left with that queasy feeling that the stylist didn’t listen or rushed and I’m going to have to go somewhere else to fix their mistake!
Atmosphere is definitely trendy but not too hipster that I feel out of place coming in in yoga pants and a tshirt. (I’m a nurse that works nights). The staff is super friendly and I never hear any catty comments about coworkers or clients, which is super uncomfortable for strangers to listen too. Everyone always seems thrilled with their cuts!
Overall I’m super picky and this place is definitely up to par! Definitely recommend!

LINDSEY is the bomb! I would definitely recommend her! She is always on top of her game and sitting in her chair is always fun while getting pampered. Thank you Lindsey for being a ROCKSTAR!

If you have curly hair Craig is the best person you can have cutting it.
I am a vain person who primps a lot. I have been to a lot of salons in a lot of cities and spent many-​a-​dollars that I don’t have on my glorious mane. I probably have salon visits on my credit card from 6 years ago that I’m still paying for. Long story short, my opinion on many things is baseless — but not on the doing of long wavy blond hair.
I do not go to stylists that do not have curly hair. This is a decision made from experience. I don’t care if you have a master’s degree in hair-​cutology, if you don’t have curly hair you don’t know how to deal with it.
My hair never looks better than after Craig cuts and colors it. He knows curly and he knows blond. Very simple.
I haven’t lived in CO in 4 years and I still, if possible, get my hair done by Craig when I fly home to see the fam.
Dropped one star because with tip included I usually spend close to $ 200 and let’s face it dropping that kind of coin hurts a little.

I go here for Jordan, (Jordyn? Jordan? Who knows). She used to be near the flatirons mall, and is about to move over there again, but for now she’s in Boulder. She did hair and makeup for my wedding and I was so happy. She is friendly, nice, listens very attentively and always does a good job. She”s also very positive! I like her very much, and my mother goes to her as well.

The Parlour is a fun salon downtown. I usually only go to Krystal, and love her. She’s efficient, very skilled, knowledgeable, professional, and will help you make the right decision (and not make decisions for you). She has a good sense of what you might be comfortable with, if you’re trying something new, and the more you see her, the more she can recommend styles that you might like.
I’ve had ‘ok’ experiences with the rest of the staff. Krystal is by far my favorite.

I had been going to a much pricier salon for almost 2 years when I finally had enough of being butchered and gave The Parlour a try.
I’ve had two cuts and one highlight session all from Alex (girl) and am absolutely stunned at her ability to LISTEN to what I want and work with my hair and face-​shape. The cut is so great that I can literally wash and let air dry if I am in a rush. And my fine, limp hair still manages to look great with a little tossle. Alex is also good at showing me easy ways to style it, since she understands my request for low maintenance.
And the best part is that my horrendous haircut from the not-​to-​be-​mentioned salon is finally growing out!
I HIGHLY recommend Alex, so long as she still has appointments for me! ;)
