I’m glad the downtown Sherpa’s is closed. It wasn’t very good. As for the Iris location, I just called and the man that answered there said it was now Himalaya’s. So, it’s no longer a Sherpa’s either. The name change is very recent he said. I have no idea if these two named places were really all owned/run by the same people or not. I have not been in the Iris location yet. I went to the Walnut St. Sherpa’s with friends in mid-August 2013 for their son’s 21st b-day dinner. He’s a student at CU and had chosen this place through a guidebook, or friends — not sure which. I have to say, our experience was simple horrendous! We arrived at 5:30pm after a hike up in the foothills. There was only one other party of 3 on the patio at the time we sat down. They were served long before us. While we waited, we saw several other tables of people sat, ordered and served, while we were ignored for no apparent reason. We waited 30 minutes for our waiter to bring us water, and probably wouldn’t have gotten that if I hadn’t gone to speak to a waitress about why we hadn’t even been acknowledged. Even after the waiter came to our table, with no menus, btw, we waited another 30 minutes for our water and wine! I was ready to get up and leave, but the others wanted to stay. I’m sorry, but I just can’t tolerate that sort of poor service anywhere. They weren’t that busy. On top of that, every dish we ordered was too greasy and most were overcooked. If I had been paying for that meal, I would have left with no tip or payment. After leaving, we all agreed, we’ve had way better Nepalese/Indian fare, and far better service, at several other places in Boulder. So, this one won’t be missed by any of us.

Love the saag with lamb! Authentic with great atmosphere and good prices for pearl street.

Asked a coworker for some good Indian food in Boulder. He suggested Sherpa’s Kitchen. I would rather have given them a call to place my to-go order but know one answered. I went ahead and drove over. While I waited for my food the gentleman gave me a cup of Chai. Made me day. The food, chicken curry and garlic Naan for 12 bucks… yes please! Oh and it tastes Amazing! They have a lunch buffet too. Simple set up so don’t expect something fancy.

This place has good prices, the cuisine was OK, but it’s good if you live in N. Boulder and don’t want to drive to Sherpa’s

Location is sort of sketchy, right by the DMV. The Food was delicious and the service was amazing! I will definitely go back or order take-out often!

This meal was some of the worst food I’ve yet to have in Boulder. I ordered the lamb stew for $ 9. The lamb they use is the frozen sheet shaped lamb that looks like mystery meat and taste like it as well. The stew was not a stew at all, it had a yellow broth with the consistency of water. I also ordered the garlic naan, 50c more than the original, and the only difference between the two was they put garlic salt/powder.

I really like this place. I enjoy eating Nepalese food and I love that Boulder has so many Nepalese restaurants to choose from. I’ve eaten at Namaste Nepal, Nepal Cuisine, Sherpas Ascent, Tibet Kitchen, Gurkhas on the HIll, and Himalayas and this is definitely one of my favorites. I would say this place is tied with Nepal Cuisine. The location of this place is kind of awkward. I think that’s why it’s so empty whenever I eat here. Everytime I’ve eaten here I was the only customer in the restaurant, but it’s pretty nice because you get such great service. My favorite nepali dish is momos and they’re momos here are very tasty, when you bite into them all the juices flow into your mouth and its just so yum! You can tell they’re fresh and have never been frozen. Their nann… delectable! They serve it to you nice and hot and I love that they don’t come all burnt and crispy. I like my nann soft and chewy. Their chai tastes a little different from the standard chai that you get from indian restaurants and i like it! everything I’ve tried here I really liked because they all tasted so homemade. I highly recommend Sherpas Kitchen, try it!!!

Awesome! Weird that it’s located in this crappy run-down strip mall. We ordered soooooo much food and it was all great. Beware, however, the yak is NOT like buffalo. It wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t recommend it. Glad I tried it. Amazing service!

This place was great. It is tucked away in a crappy mall, but the staff and the food was excellent. I had what they call a sizzler which is a sizzling plate of lamb, chicken or yak. I had lamb and it was very good. They say the yak us like buffalo. The prices are really good. 8−9−10 bucks for a ton of food. Less money that Chilis and this is better for you. They don’t server any alcohol, but the chai tea is pretty good. Give it a try

Very good meal. I had the Yak, and enjoyed the taste. Both my friend and I had a meal that had yak, and we both agreed this was a great place to eat. We have already bragged it up to our friends. Located inside a mall close to the Diagonal, we were looking for a nice lunch and a place to chat. We were pleasantly surprised by the food, and the quiet ambiance. A bit out of the way, we will be going back for ore.

Had dinner last Saturday due to a recent Groupon offering. Now I must agree the location is not the best but this place is totally worth it if you want authentic food and at a great value. Back east I had a place like this which I probably ate at once a week. Mom and pop ran, kind of a dive in regards to location and décor but the FOOD and SERVICE make me a repeat customer. We had the naan which was tasty and a great deal at $ 1.50 for a starter. Then I ordered the chicken Vindaloo, this dish had a wonderful flavor and freshness I never find at other Indian places. My GF ordered the Vegetarian Daal Baht which is an authentic dish. Out came several small bowls holding a variety of fresh flavors to be mixed and ate with rice and naan. The service was very friendly and personable. Next time I’m going to try the Yak. While this isn’t a Friday or Saturday night date night kinda place, I will be spending countless weeknights enjoying this wonderful hidden gem!

Great food at reasonable prices. The location is not the best in the Diagonal Plaza. I used to eat here when it was a Chinese Restaurant, avoided it when it was Everest Delights, and pleasantly surprised when I was lured in by their recent Groupon offering. I’ve traveled in India and Nepal. I’ve tasted the real thing. This is it. We had a Vindaloo(Spicy) and Veggie Momos both were delicious. The price was right at $ 8.99 each for the two main entrees. The chai was great. The service was attentive. The place was clean. They have two flat screen TVs playing«Into Thin Air.» It was quiet. The décor is not stellar, but the reason you come here is the food, not to examine the walls. I’ve taken a star off for the décor and location, but the food is a good five star affair.

Delicious cuisine & friendly service. I accidentally purchased 2 Groupons for this restaurant thinking it was Sherpas on Walnut in Boulder(also delectable). I was pleasantly surprised at the less greasy than typical Naan & the best chicken Vindaloo I’ve eaten. I ate at the Chinese restaurant that used to be in the same location & my dish tasted like dishwater, so I was apprehensive at first, but like I’ve said, Sherpas Kitchen was amazing. I’m glad I mistakenly discovered this spot.

We have had such wonderful experiences here I am wondering if the bad reviews are actually talking about the same restaurant? Wonderful dinners, remarkable service, naan better than any anywhere. Order the yak and enjoy the story of how they get it. Just great, great food.

Bad Bad! Had a meal there, while i was waiting for my appointment at DMV. Menu is vague, décor is so dull. Food was bad. Would not recommend for even a quick lunch.

This is not called Everest Delights anymore. Instead it’s Sherpa & Japanese, which seems incredibly weird to me. I went for lunch yesterday to find that they don’t have any lunch specials, just a weird menu of Japanese and Nepalese food. The décor is in huge need of help. Slate blue walpaper printed with tulips does not match Himalayan wall hangings at all. I was seated at a table that was dirty, and after realizing that a meal was going to cost upwards of $ 10 for vegetarian fare with no drink, I decided that I didn’t want to stay. There is no free chai here either.
