The Irish Waxpot

Nice woman but after a week all the hair had grown back. I called to tell her, left a message and she never called me back. Very disappointed. Wish her the best but I will not be returning!

Janet is a very nice woman but I have to agree with the previous review, she did double dip every time and it made me awfully uncomfortable. I also did not like her technique. I’ve visited several other waxers in the Denver metro area who did not double dip and made the experience not as painful as it should be. Miranda, who use to work at 1313 and rented the basement space that Janet has now did a wonderful job with my wax, but unfortunately moved away and was replaced by Janet. Although Janet seems to care about her clients, the lack of hygiene with her wax and care for professionalism made me steer away from her. I also developed bumps and an infection because of her lack of hygiene and waxing method. I also believe she uses pretty cheap wax that doesn’t remove hair as well. I just hope that enough people will let her know that double dipping isn’t okay and she will change, but for now I’m going to look else where for waxing.

The place is set in a tiny basement inside a salon. Very nice woman. She takes the time to get to know her clients. But I would not suggest going here– she double dips! I got the worst infection from my wax here. Additionally, she lacks a bit of professionalism. Instead of leaving the room after the wax to let me get dressed and pay, she sits in the room with you waiting for you to get dressed so she can charge you.
The extra star is for how nice she is and cares. The low rating is for the double dipping and lack of professionalism with her business.

I will not go anywhere else.
I found Janet for my Brazilian waxes. She is awesome I have been to a number of places but Janet has been the best by far Anywhere. It is the least painful and most comfortable Brazilian I have ever had. She uses great wax, great strips, and a great technique. As well as the best wax as far as getting all of the hair off. I have also noticed very little break outs, if any, after waxing. I have even moved to Denver now, and will drive back to boulder to get my Brazilians done by Janet. She’s that good, and I have had too many bad brazilians. When you find something good, hang onto it!
I have her now wax my eyebrows and lip too, and I occasionally get an eyelash tint. All superb! Very precise, and eyelash tint never burns Like it has for me before in the past at other places.
She gives fair pricing especially for how well of a job she does and always gives a 20% off rebooking discount which I always take because I know I’ll be coming back to her.
You won’t find better, believe me:)

I’ve been to this place a couple of times now. I get Brazilian waxes about every 6 weeks pretty regularly for about 15 years now, so I’ve had some experience. I do admit I sometimes just go someplace because they have a Groupon (it can get expensive!) but I don’t always find someplace I like.
There are a few specific things that I look for in a waxing place.
1 — the «waxer» — Janet is from Ireland (hence the name of the place) and is a great lady! She remembers who you area and makes it a personable experience. She is great at putting you at ease and feel comfortable. Since this person is about to get «up close and personal» with your private parts, this is important.
2 — the «wax» — Many people wouldn’t believe how many different types of waxes there apparently is. I think a real professional can adapt to the client. I did notice that she used a couple different techniques depending on the «area», which not all people do. This is important so the hair completely comes out instead of breaking off.
3 — the location — This location is right off the Pearl street mall in Boulder. Right when you walk in, you feel welcome and «beautiful». I know that sounds weird, but some places just have a feeling and I’ve been in some that just creep me out a bit and some where I just don’t really like being in. The Irish Waxpot is in the downstairs of a nice upscale hair salon. It has privacy and a positive atmosphere. They even offer you water and coffee when you check in.
4 — the price — Now, this place is upscale and it charges the same. That being said, she seems to always have specials going on and packages that reward returning customers. For example, at the time I went, she had discount packages for 3 or 5 waxes which made it very reasonable. Plus there was a discount if you booked your next wax before you left.
All in all, it is a nice place, nice lady, and I would definitely recommend it.
