Theatrical Costumes, Etc!

As a former children’s TV show host, I LOVE THIS PLACE. As I wandered the aisles, my inner-​child was on fire (in a good way). They have everything here — and more. Great make-​up selection, a great wall of wigs, an excellent selection of pre-​made and put-​it-​together-​yourself costumes, lots of ancillary items, mustaches, hats, props — and general wackiness. I am grateful this store exists! And the people who own it and work here are the real deal. Down to earth, ready to help, full of warmth and enthusiasm!

I came here with a mental list of things I needed and a gift card from coworkers who knew I liked cosplay. I did not get to check anything off my list. From the name, I was hoping they would have more things suitable for being on stage. They did not!
First you end up in a normal sized shop, then you head back and to the left and end up in a large, dark room piled high with cheap, costumey stuff. It’s hard to see and find everything because it’s all crammed together. I DID admire their large selection of makeup and wigs, and they’ve got a fantastic selection of ostrich feathers in a huge variety of colors. They had lots of hats high up, but then you’ve got to dig around to find a perky employee to help you get to them, and then wander around to find enough light to see what it is you have.
There are not a lot of actual costumes, and there are not a lot of parts to make up costumes, aside from feathers. I was most interested in pirate gear, odd items like weapons and buckles, but I’ve seen a better selection at Big Lots in October. I hoped for a petticoat for under full skirts, but only found one that was meant to be worn by itself. I needed some lime green tights, but no luck. Their steampunk selection was fun, but still limited. Brown gloves, alas, I will still have to keep looking. Hardly any boots or shoes, although what they did have was pretty nice. They had some GREAT retro clothing and hats, including an amazing beaded flapper dress that was so heavy I didn’t think I could wear it for long. The problem was that they did not have a lot of any one costume that was available, so if it wasn’t in your size, you’d just have to stare dreamily at it and wish you had shapeshifting abilities.
The employees were very helpful and friendly. I might go back on my husband’s behalf, since they had self tying bowties in a variety of colors and patterns, and also an amazing amount of fake mustache styles. I’ll likely only go back the next time I need an ostrich feather.

The store is full of awesome costume things, but it is a little pricey there…

I can’t remember the last time I reviewed a place but this costume shop is just so awesome! They have whatever you are looking for and a ton of stuff you didn’t even know you needed. Huge selection, great prices and a very friendly & helpful staff. Becoming more and more important in Boulder they also have parking! And are really easy to get to.

What an amazing place! It so much fun to explore all of the fun there! The staff and Deb the owner are all wonderful too! It is great to have it in Boulder and worth the trip from Denver!

Love this place! It is filled with everything I have ever needed: Hats, Masks, Tights, and Full of Costumes. The staff was super nice and helpful. They let me try on anything that I wanted. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

If you have a party they have the costume! I love just coming here to explore coming up with ideas for playing dress up! The new location is twice as big as the old one… Bring your kids! Bring your inner kid & have some fun!

I love this place because they have a great selection of ACTUAL costume/​monster makeup. Don’t be fooled when you walk in the door, around the back there’s another huge room stuffed to the gills with pretty much anything you might be looking for for Halloween, costume parties, or you know, cuz you’re just in the damn mood to play dress up. Lots of fun, eclectic accessories, and a ton of prepackaged costumes that will run you around $ 50.
So so happy to have this place and not have to drive to Denver. They’ve got everything you need and a super helpful staff.
