We tried the veg, chicken and beef momo’s(tibetan style dumplings) amazingly well prepared, piping hot and with their explosive sauce, packs quite a punch. Having grown up on momos, a popular food amongst students in Delhi and most towns in India, especially in winter, I was skeptical about how good could it get in the middle of Denver. I’m super happy that i was wrong. Its easily amongst the best i have eaten and the sauce was the best ever ! We also had their chicken noodle which was ok, the noodles were gnocchi like(minus filling) nano dumplings with pok choy and chicken chunks in a soupy texture. The sweet staff member who took our order graciously offered us chai which was super good as well. Overall its a great family run place. bless them !

It would get 5 stars for the food, but it’s a little dive-ey(not too bad). Great prices and excellent Tibetan cuisine(some of the best I’ve had). Nice vegetarian section on the menu. Tastes very well balanced. I’ve heard from those who’ve visited the Tibetan areas of Nepal that it’s pretty authentic. Light and savory. Pleasant staff. Counter service and limited seating.

Awesome food. I have yet to find better momos, and made fresh! We got the momo sampler and I got the Gyathuk(long noodle soup) with beef which was the best soup ever for a chilly day. Also, get the chai tea. I recommend take-out or patio: the inside seating isn’t my favorite because the tables in back are in a small room next to the bathroom, and they are mostly 2 – 3 person tables. The counter in front could be good if eating solo. HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHEIRFOOD. Worth the wait for fresh eats!

I just moved to Colorado. I had my first meal here. The server was incredibly. The location is like a hidden gem. I’m going back there for sure. Of course, I doubt I would have discovered this place if it wasn’t for the help of a very eclectic local who’s been living in the area since 1988, haha I had some food leftover and when I heated it up later, it was still delicious. I should also mention that he gave us complimentary chai. It was just what I needed after a long flight.

for the life of me, i cant understand all the rave reviews. I think because the word«tibet» in it’s the name, boulderian’ians flock to it thinking they are being cultural… i had the lunch 2 entrée special and it came with 4 lil cubes of chicken in a greasy flavorless curry sauce. the curry potato thing was ok i guess, but how can you really mess that up. the entire other half of the plate was piled with white rice to give the illusion your getting your money’s worth. A stock dali lahma picture here and there and instantly gullible folks presume this is real tibetan cuisine and they’re laughing all the way to the bank. Its fast food indian basically. a frozen indian tv dinner from trader joe’s has more flavor. Granted, i didnt try the momo’s or whatever but my experience was über meh.

We enjoyed our momo sampler platter and didn’t mind a short wait, because we had endless chai :) Really filling food that’s tasty, but could be a little more memorable. Without sauces the momo wasn’t great, but a little sriracha made the experience worthwhile. Prices are very fair too. I’d return for a hearty meal at a good price. I look forward to trying the beef dumpling soup on my next visit. PS: I’d have to say that the reviews on here are a little ridiculous. Rating a local business poorly because you didn’t receive top-notch service in a fancy atmosphere when you’re paying $ 6 per meal? Kind of ridiculous. I didn’t mind that this place was small. Props to the family-owned businesses who can remain open in Boulder’s competitive restaurant scene.

The momos were great but the service was the worst I have ever encountered even though I wasn’t expecting much. First, the worker brought us the food and then 2 minutes later came back to say it was not our food and gave it to other people. How unsanitary. My friend ordered a side of rice with the momos and repeated it many times and then he came out with bread instead. When my friend said she ordered rice and i supported her. He said no you didn’t and left and then came back with some note he wrote to himself while taking her order to «prove it» and didn’t even apologize. This is ridiculous. Food isn’t worth it when they treat customers like this.

Really good. Made like cook is feeding his/her family. Not fancy, but spot on good. Long noodle soup was awesome. Momo(basically steamed dumplings) were full of flavor and had quality ingredients. Had the sampler. I love these kind of places. Plenty for the money but quality was better than other places with 2 or 3 times the price. I live on the road and eat out almost every meal. When I come back to Boulder(or Denver for that matter) this will be one of my stops. I’d eat here almost every week if I lived here. But, I like this kind of food. Maybe not for everyone but definitely for me. Wish this place nothing but good fortune.

This place was exactly what I was looking for — a quick, in-and-out place for a fulfilling and tasty dinner. I was staying across the street at a hotel and had never tried out Tibetan food before. I was not sure what I was getting myself into, but I am so glad I tried it! I took the advice of other reviews and got the chicken momo — best decision. If you are are a fan of spicy food, the sauce is the perfect level of spicy: not too weak like most restaurants tend to do. It seemed like a perfect mix of Indian and Chinese wrapped in a dumpling. The dish itself comes with plenty of dumplings, definitely a whole meal’s worth. Only giving 4 stars because the place itself is very catered for takeout — if you want to sit down and dine, it’s very small and does not look too clean. Would go again if I come back to Boulder!

The Good: Cute, tiny, tasty Tibetan spot with authentic décor, vibe & food. Menu is clear, there’s vegetarian options and vegetarian specials right along with beef, pork & chicken. Cup of free hot real chai when you order, a warm & welcoming touch. The Bad: Cold in winter, very limited seating & parking. The Food: Inconsistent — can range from okay to amazing. Takes a long time which I like because it means they’re making it to order(but not great when you’re in a hurry).Dumplings are the way to go. Good veggie options(more than one!) The Service: Order at the counter, they’re nice when you try to pronounce the Tibetan food names. Bus your own table, self-serve water. Overall: good spot for ethnic take-out or a casual bite.

I am now a regular at this place. Best things to have: Momo’s — beef and chicken are the best! Dali — one if the best lentil soups in town. Thenthuck — hand pulled pasta soup

My husband and I visited Tibet Kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was empty inside but it was hot so we decided to sit outside to get some fresh air. The outside patio was packed, with what seemed like restaurant staff which was strange. We took the only available place to sit and waited for our food. The woman who brought us our food was generous enough to bring out the napkins and extra sauces, which was nice since it’s mostly a self-serve type place. The momo sampler was delicious. I would say the beef was the best. We also had the veggie noodles which was solid but needed some siracha. Overall very affordable for the portion size and decent taste but I won’t be driving up from Denver just for Tibet Kitchen.

— Really cute, authentic feeling — Small place, nothing fancy, about 6 parking space — Tastes like comfort food to me, but with an interesting twist — They were out of chai when we ordered, but then passed out free(super yummy) chai later when the new batch finished brewing — Would come back anytime

I had high hopes for this place based on other reviews. The $ 6.95 dinner was true, but the lots of food piled up was just a lot of rice. We wanted one beef and one chicken curry. They didn’t have any beef curry so we ended up with both getting chicken. The chicken pieces were very dry, just a few of them, but at least the curry sauce was pretty good. The complementary cup of hot Chai was nice but not the best I have had. Nice place when you are low on the dough.

I went to hike Blue Lake in Boulder earlier this week and my good friend was in the mood to try some good ol’ Tibetan food. I was in the mood for a new cuisine so I thought why not?! The diner itself is kind of a «hole-in-the-wall» spot next to a Subway. It is not a restaurant, by no means. I’ve had good experiences with«hole-in-the-wall» food joints, so it’s appearance did not stray me away from trying the food. The employees(all Tibetan folks) were so kind and patient. I was very happy with their menu selection. So much to choose from! I ordered the«Vegetarian Momo» which is basically a traditional Tibetan dumpling dish. It was stuffed with an array of veggies and came with mouth-watering spicy sauce. The man who took our order offered my friend and I a cup of chai(tea)(which apparently comes on the house with every meal) while we waited for our meal to be ready. The chai was much too sweet for my taste. But as a South Asian myself, I know how sweet them brown folks like their food/drinks. The dumplings were delicious and very satisfying(8 dumplings/per order for about $ 8). I asked for some extra hot sauce because it was so. damn. good. I would definitely go back to Tibet Kitchen when I am back in Boulder. The only reason I would give this place a 4⁄5 stars is because of the lack of upkeep of the restaurant. If they would spend a bitttt more time cleaning up the place, I am sure it would attract many many more people. For the food and the service, I would give 5 stars, no doubt. The employees are very friendly and the kitchen looked clean and maintained. Enjoy your time!

The momos were delicious!!! I ordered the chicken momo. For ~$ 7 you get 8 huge momos which are just round dumplings and it’s so filling. The dough is a bit thick though but the spicy sauce it comes with is on point. If you like spicy food, you will prob die for the sauce. 5 stars for the food itself. The chai is too sweet though but I appreciate that it’s free. The reason I am taking off 2 stars is because the restaurant is pretty ghetto. You order in the front and there are some bar seating in the front but most of the tables are in the back. The tables weren’t very clean. The bathroom was so weird and I pretty much only washed my hand and left. What was the worst was that there were so many flies zooming around while I was trying to enjoy my meal. The owners are nice though as they came back to check on us and even gave us extra spicy sauce. If the place got renovated, it would well deserve at least 4 stars. Maybe next time I’ll just get to go.

We waited forty minutes for our food to arrive. It lacked any sort of flavor so we dumped a lot of siracha into it

YES! Dirt cheap tibetan food. I was blown away by theyre special for $ 7 they stack your plate with rice, beans, potatoes, buns, meat, and vegetables and its just all great. Unfortunately I’m writing this review a few days after so the names are eluding me right now. However the ground beef dish is awesome, so are the potatoes. They also have some really good spicy chai tea they serve if youre eating in. The best part is when you eat in you get real table wear. no paper or plastic.
