Turley’s has long been a favorite of my family. However, the recent change in the menu is discouraging. We loved the tacos adovada and the sopas. Now we don’t know what to order. We will just stick to salads for the time being.

Turley’s has been in this location since the dawn of time! The menu has stayed consistent in terms of selections, but the quality and quantity has gone down while the prices keep going up. I expect prices to go up, but I was disappointed to see how the portions have been significantly reduced and the quality has declined. I ordered the oatmeal which arrived with a semi-crusty dried out layer on top suggesting that it had been sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. My friend ordered the fruit, yogurt and granola bowl. The spoon-full serving of granola was decent in taste but ridiculously meager in quantity. The yogurt which was dispensed from a machine into a swirl pattern was dumped on top of the granola rendering it into a mush. The chunks of various melons filled the dish. The place is crazy busy on weekends, so expect to wait for a seat and wait longer to be served. If loud dining is not your thing, you’ll want to go elsewhere. The hostess was in a particularly grumpy mood the day we were there giving snarly glares at the customers as they checked in and waited. She created a very inhospitable atmosphere along with the other staff who were busy monitoring customers timing to pay and leave. With so many other great places to choose from, we’ll pick another option next time.

I couldn’t be more in love with this place. I could eat every meal here. Everything is clean, everyone is friendly, and all the food is locally sourced and/or organic. I’m obsessed with the cashew chicken salad, my husband loves the nachos or a good burger and my toddler always gets pancakes. The prices are on-point. Turley’s is a true gem.

Great place for breakfast. I am trying to choose healthier options when I go out to eat, so I ordered their garden omelette with fruit instead of home fries and a side of bacon(because, well… it’s bacon…). It also came with a bread side — I chose the blueberry muffin. It looked delicious, but gave it to someone else at the table so that I wouldn’t be tempted. They brought me the California omelette by mistake, but quickly and efficiently corrected the error. The only harm it did was let me see something that looked awesome — so now I know what I’m ordering the next time I go to Turley’s. The omelette had cream cheese in it, which I normally love in omelettes, but for my tastes, it was a little much. I loved the fruit and they kept my coffee full.

This is a great place for breakfast. We come here for special occasions as a little breakfast getaway. Service is always good, coffee always warm and food always delicious.

This place used to be good when they served the Boulder market. They no longer have anything on their menu that’s vegan. Boo and shame on you!

3 stars for food, atmosphere, and staff. Mostly good for breakfast, although they do have some lunch and dinner options. There are definitely better breakfast places in Boulder. Turley’s has gone through many transitions. The biggest being when they moved to this location on 28th and Pearl. While it has been several years, I think the most declining changes have been more recently. I have two main disappointments. 1) The food is often inconsistent. I normally get one of two meals. The vegetarian benedict and the vegetarian scramble. The benedict is the most up and down. The hollandaise has good flavor but often over powers the other ingredients. The tomato is often very flavorless and not always quite ripe. The avocado is normally small and also relatively flavorless. I am usually not full from this one. The vegetarian scramble is normally better. A good mix of egg, cheese, green onion, tomato, mushroom and potatoes. This is also served with two pancakes and the biscuit. I normally swap the biscuit out for the muffin of the day. This meal is a lot of food. 2) The prices seem to keep going up and up. In the most recent transition, Turleys seems to be focusing on fresh, organic ingredients. This is really cool and I applaud this choice, but the prices have risen so drastically after this it is almost ridiculous. The scramble comes to $ 13 and the benedict to $ 11. I would even be willing to pay this more often if the ingredients had a good fresh flavor to match their organic start. Sadly they do not. For lunch or dinner I have tried the veggie burger and the vegetarian pot pie. Both are decent. The pot pie has a nice rosemary flavored crust(although the crust is really only a lid covering a bowl; crust to filling ratio is not quite right). The hungarian mushroom soup is quite good when they have it. They normally have one or two seasonal soups in addition to the tomato parmesan they always have. To drink I really enjoy their Turleys Spiced Tea. It is kind of a sweet tea with a cinnamon-ginger kick to it. It is especially good iced, but also comes hot. Despite the inconsistency with their food, I have random cravings for this place. Mostly for the scramble and the crispy hash browns. These are not common cravings though and the price keeps me away since I can get a larger breakfast dish with more flavor cheaper elsewhere.

Delicious and innovative menu with food that tastes fresh and servers who are not. Friendly service plus good food. We ate on the patio and enjoyed the weather. Breakfast burrito was terrific. Salmon hash was too.

I’ve been to Turley’s a number of times and, generally, my experiences have been less than stellar. I’m not a fan of their breakfast dishes. They tend to lack flavor and are fairly over-priced. And during one visit, a waitress dumped an entire tray of food on our table and offered no reconciliation. However, I recently came for dinner and had the Tree Hugger sandwich and thought it was quite good. The mix of olive oil, vinegar, and garlic aioli gave the unassuming sandwich a fantastic flavor. The greens, tomato, avocado, and onion were fresh and flavorful. The bun was good as well, although its flavor was dwarfed by the sandwich(but I didn’t mind). It was one of the better vegetarian sandwiches I’ve had and I would gladly order it again. The flavor of the parmesan fries was good but they were cold by the time our food came. I would have enjoyed them more warm. The service was good, albeit a little slow. It took a long time for our waiter to take our order and a long time for the food to arrive(which was surprising because most members of our party ordered soup/salad/sandwiches). My water glass was empty for most of our visit, which is an easily avoidable miss in my opinion(especially considering the restaurant wasn’t overly busy). Despite the slow service, our waiter was very nice, personable, and professional. He must have been preoccupied by other duties or I’m sure he would have been more attentive. Turley’s is not my first choice when eating in Boulder due to a number of below average experiences. My most recent visit was a step in the right direction. Although my opinion will take longer to sway toward affection, I’ll try them again with less hesitation.

First time visiting the restaurant but had the worst experience. The monkey bread was a cinnamon challenge. It was overpowering and not pleasant. The Chicken Pot Pie was unflavored chicken soup with a piece of toasted bread-like substance on the top. The chicken was unseasoned. The buttermilk biscuit was hard and lacked flavor. My wife’s Bacon Cheddar burger also lacked any seasonings. MEH! Our bill was $ 43 before tip. Gluten-free should not be flavor-free.

ORDERTHEPUMPKINMUFFINS!!! Ever since my first trip to Turleys where I was offered a side of the house muffin, my life has been changed. Turleys is the go to for a brunch seeking crowd looking to get away from the busy bustle of college student hangouts like the buff or snooze. The interior itself is classy and wood furnished. Service is great and very friendly, and they take call ahead reservations. I’ve been here for brunch several times and I’ve never been disappointed. Highlights are of course, the pumpkin muffins(I bought 6 to go one day), any type of eggs dish, the pumpkin waffles, huevos rancheros, eggs Benedict, and the monkey bread. I’ve never had a bad meal here; the food quality is outstanding. Make sure you pair your order with a hazelnut mocha as well :)

Turley’s continues to go downhill by raising prices and reducing portions. One«glass» of wine has about three to four swigs, the house Mac has hardly any cheese, the fish tacos are mostly cabbage. And burgers start at $ 18. The menu has changed so much over the years, it’s not at all the old hippie hang out it used to be. Sad, but I will probably never eat there again.

My kids BEG me to take them here. Granted, I have some extraordinary children, but this is our favorite restaurant for breakfast & brunch. The food is great and great quality. My son just said, with his mouth full of biscuit, «this is the best food I’ve had in a loooong time!» And I’m not a bad cook

Turley’s was founded in 1977, the year I was born. Much respect for staying open so long. Despite that I have lived in Boulder for ten years, I have only eaten at Turley’s a handful of times and I am not sure why. The current location is easy to find right in the heart of Boulder next to Whole Foods. The staff is prompt, courteous and knowledgable. The quality of the food is excellent, including many organic and local ingredients. The menu is vegetarian and gluten-free accommodating. This is definitely an all around family friendly restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The portions are generous. The bar is fully stocked. The pancakes are served with real maple syrup. I especially appreciate the Bonne Maman Preserves and pepper mill at every table. So why did I not give a 5 star review? Although I sing praises to all aspects of this restaurant, that did not stop the wave of disappointment I felt when offered my choice of hot sauces. Tabasco and Cholula… Really guys? You are right next to Whole Foods. With such delicious offerings on your menu, there should be an accompaniment of a unique hot sauce selection. Stop by Snooze some day and check out what they offer, or just default to the local Boulder Hot Sauce Company flavors. Either way, I think you could do better than only offering the generic brands we find on every restaurant table in America. Thanks for reading. See you next time. I hope to try your new hot sauce flavors!

Update 11÷11÷15: I hate to do this, but I’m dropping this place down a star now. I went twice this week. I’ve been so very busy that I didn’t have much time to go grocery shopping, and I didn’t want anything in my house to eat for dinner. Monday 11÷9÷15, I came in for happy hour and sat at the bar. Ordered the fish tacos, which I used to really like, but they used to give three tacos, now it’s only two and there was hardly any fish in them, mostly it was just shredded cabbage. With a soda to drink(I’m not a fan of the beers they offer) my meal cost $ 7.50 before tip. Wow, that sure seemed pricey. Today, I came in early enough for happy hour again and sat at the bar, but the bartender was so busy that he ignored me until happy hour had almost ended. No matter, I was cold and wanted a hot drink, soup and salad. I just find the happy hour food menu wanting, except for the fish taco, but as I said before, they seem to be skimping on the main ingredient, FISH. Tonight, I ordered a spiced cider which was $ 3.60. The bowl of Hungarian mushroom soup, which I still love, and house salad combo is now $ 12.50. $ 12.50! My bill came to $ 17.55, after tax, for this small meal. Holy Cow! The bowls for the soup are smaller than they used to be, as is the salad portion. Unfortunately, I left still hungry, and vowed I won’t be back. Their prices are just too high for the amount of food they are serving these days. All of Boulder has become too expensive to eat out for the average person on a limited income, IMO. Everywhere I’ve been in the past few months, I’ve seen smaller portions and higher prices. Sometimes the service is not commensurate either. I tip according to the level of service I’m given, and tonight that wasn’t even worth 15%. Sorry Mr. Bartender(I’m with holding his name here), but you need to at least acknowledge your customers more quickly, even if you’re busy. Just glance over, smile and mouth you’re really busy, but you will get to us.

We have been going to Turley’s off and on for 20 years or so. Its been a love/hate relationship for sure. But it obvious they continue to go downhill from the old days when they were on Arapahoe. The best part about Turley’s is the Organic Asher Beer on Happy Hour. But the happy hour menu is really hit or miss except for the fries. The grilled cheese is really small and they actually cut off the crust. The bison sliders are over priced, dry and generally tasteless with little to know condiments. I have been there for breakfast and the quality of the biscuits and gravy hit or miss. The last time I had biscuits and gravy at Turley’s I got sick for 3 days. So basically its hit or miss. Generally speaking I would say these days about 1 our of every 3 times is a quality experience. So sad to see a Boulder institution going down.

I though this place would be a nice surprise for my Sister, who has diagnosed Celiac disease. As you know, Turley’s promotes itself as «Gluten-Free» and«Allergen sensitive». This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Before ordering my Sister and I decided to peak into the kitchen, and to our dismay we saw no separation between the gluten and gluten free. They use the same toaster for the regular toast and the gluten free buns. The use the same grill to prepare both meals. Obviously, there was also no separation of silverware or dishware either. I asked a waitress to make sure and to my disbelief she informed me «Crumbs don’t matter». Scary. We left without paying for the Coffee. This place should be shut down immediately.

Came here for a quick breakfast with my wife before heading out to go climb the flat irons. I saw where it had gotten mediocre reviews, but TripAdvisor seemed positive, so we figured we’d give it a shot. …should have listened to my fellow Unilocal-ers! Food at Turley’s isn’t bad per se, but is best described as generic American fare for twice the price where quantity matters more than quality. The omelette was fine to the taste(fresh avacado), but was overpowered by too much cheese and it was a huge serving(more than enough for me and my wife).

You know the kind of place that nothing is really bad but it just doesn’t stand out? The place that they have everywhere? The kind of place, while not bad, just doesn’t pop? This, to me, is that kind of place. Seriously no complaints but it didn’t rise about and stand out. I had the buffalo burger which was pretty dry. I love buffalo and know it’s very lean but cooked medium rare it lacked any real flavor. Usually buffalo has a distinct, rich flavor but this could have been just a beef burger. In fact at one point I wondered if they didn’t hear me order buffalo.

We discovered this place by chance while looking for a healthy lunch with our CU student son on a Sunday. It is very nice to find a locally sourced, mostly organic restaurant that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. It is kind of pricy, but not bad when you consider the cost of organic food. All the meat is antibiotic and hormone free. I got a grass-fed jalapeño burger with onions and tomatoes and a gluten-free bun and fries. Everything was great! My son got buffalo meat loaf on garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies and my wife had huevos rancheros, and both said it was excellent. They have a very good spicy Bloody Mary made from house-made pepper-infused vodka. Our waitress Torin was great — super knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly without being overbearing. We’ll ask for her next time we come here.
