Library Bar

Local hangout. No food other than pub pizza. Karaōke on Sunday’s. Nothing special, but a nice quiet bar.

We came here on Friday night to get a few drinks after dinner. This is another bar that boasts of their great beer list, but it’s nothing more than the standard beers that you’ll find at every bar. While the beer list didn’t excite, I will admit that I found the bar to be very inviting. It was decorated with shelves and books to go with the «library» theme. They had the HDTV’s turned on to the games of the night, although no one in there seemed to be watching them. The bartender was pretty nice too and made small talk with us. If they had a better beer selection, I’d probably be back a lot sooner. Due to my husband being a beer snob though, I don’t think we’d return anytime soon.

I should preface this by saying I visited this establishment around midnight on a Sunday. or a Saturday night.
The place was very small and very busy. I can’t fault the place for being busy. They had a DJ that night who was playing music quite loudly. As someone who goes to many concerts, I can handle loud music with the best of them. But this was just off putting. The bass was very loud which made socializing all but impossible unless you where shouting. And even then it was reduced to the person standing right next to you.
Many times we were pushed to the side to make room for fellow patrons of the bar. Which goes back to the small size of the place. They put mirrors up to give the impression that it is larger than it really is.
Service was ok. Again, they were quite busy so, you have to expect a wait. The selection was what you would expect. Don’t come here looking for a deep selection of craft beers on tap. If you’re looking for mainstream beers, you’ll be pleased.
I do feel I owe the place compliments on the overall ascetic. It seemed well kept up and they actually had a books on shelves.
For some people, this is probably their favorite hangout. But as someone who wants to sit back, have a few different kinds of beers while socializing with friends, this is not your place. I shall not be returning.

Overall it’s a nice bar. A little small and can get quite crowded when busy, but service is fast and friendly.
