Just amazing. Everything I’ve had on their menu is so good. It is not only delicious, but a tremendous value as well(there are no small portions, so expect to pay at least $ 8 – 10, but you will have enough for more than one meal.) The service is always friendly. If you can decide what you’d like in advance, it is best to call ahead and then pick up, as there is really noplace inside to wait. Five stars and highly, highly recommended.

I’m going through Bowling Green tonight(I’m an Alumna) and decided to pick up all my favorite foods! We had to stop at South Side 6 because I absolutely adore their hummus! Tomorrow also happens to be my birthday and I mentioned it to them and then they gave me all this free food(pita chips, baklava, fries PLUS the actual hummus). Totally unexpected! The family that runs this business have always been genuine people. They work long, hard hours to make their business a success. These people are far too kind and love their community! Make sure to stop in and try all of their food! The gyros, fries and pretty much everything else is a 15⁄10! And don’t get me started on the beer selection!

The best damn Gyro this side of the Mississippi. Their rt.25 Burger is pretty freakin’ good too. The owners are wonderful people, part of the reason I enjoy going there.

After a long day of work I had a hankering for a Greek salad with a side gyro meat. When my husband went to pick up our order he told one of the ladies that I was a flight attendant who had a long day of work and wanted THEIR food. She was so sweet to include a complementary baklava for us to enjoy. Now that’s service :)

I have enjoyed the gyros from this place until recently. It seems that in the past year the quality has diminished somewhat. Its to bad cause I really like to support the local eateries in town. Today I was very disappointed that my gyro was not only cold but the meat was very dry! In addition to this huge disappointment I ordered a mixed Gyro and got home to find that there was about 3 small pieces of chicken in the entire sandwich. Definitely bummed out but after a long day at work the last thing I feel like doing is trudging back out in the cold to go and return this. These gyros are huge as others have stated but hugely overrated.

Just had South Side 6 for the first time this evening & now understand(and completely agree with) all the five star reviews! The service is friendly, fast, & you can tell that they take the time to get to know their regular customers. The food tastes awesome & their portions are great! I got a falafel sandwich meal & couldn’t have been more satisfied. The meal even came with a slice of baklava and I washed it all down with one of their many choices of beer. Will definitely go back! Highly recommend!

We really wanted to like this place and from the 5 star reviews, we expected more. First this place has an excellent beer selection. They have all the domestics and even some top shelf craft selections. If we stopped by for beer this would have been a 5 star experience. Instead, we came for food. When we are road tripping and use Unilocal and find a 5 star local spot, we have to stop. The food we received was definitely not good. I mean I didn’t even eat all of it and I usually eat all of my food. The wife got a chicken shawarma sandwich. It looked great but when she ate it she keep saying it was burnt and had a weird taste. I tried it and I came to the same conclusion. I love meat that has a nice charr to it, but this was burnt. It also had a weird seasoning on it that I couldn’t identify. I got a chili dog wit mustard and onion. I thought it would be promising but I was wrong. The dog was bland and was lukewarm, the chili was bland, the bread was cold and overly thick. Maybe it was an off night but if I ever stopped by again, I wouldn’t order the two items mentioned above.

Not sure what the hype was about, mediocre food. Had the chicken shwarma. Great service though, and they do good things for the local community which is awesome. Maybe other dishes taste better.

This place is excellent! You know how you hear about those places that look like a hole in the wall? Well this place looks like a little gas station or carry out, but when you walk in youre greeted by down to earth employees that talk and ask what your up to. The owner is all smiles and appriciative of your business… I had the gyro. I’ve never had pita bread that great… Homemade… Homemade everything! God it was pretty great! A must if in the area!!!

We stumbled across this place a few years ago while in town visiting family. The owners were super nice and even gave me a free taste of hummus. When we got to our gma’s and told everyone about our experience we ended up ordering lunch from there. No it’s a tradition whenever we visit. It never disappoints and the owners are super friendly! The mix grill combo is my favorite and a perfect way to try a little of everything. It’s def meant for sharing! The falafel is the best I’ve had and the tzatziki is wonderful! Can’t go wrong with this place.

The most unassuming carryout in Bowling Green! Great food, friendly staff, family owned. They have specials most days of the week. You have to try their gyro, seasoned fries, pita chips, and hummus.

This food is insane! Quality, quality, quality. It’s to-go only and no restroom. What I ate(a summary of multiple visits): Mixed Grill — 5 stars amazing. perfectly cooked meats, perfectly seasoned. Ridiculous amount of food(not that I care about the quantity). Lamb Gyro — 5 stars probably the best gyro I’ve ever had. So fresh, excellently spiced, perfectly cooked meat. Kafta platter — 5 stars again, excellent. Amazing flavors, insane rice complete with almonds and caramelized onions, hummus was off the hook, salad was great. I’m usually on an expense account when I travel to this area, so I can choose either a $ 40 steak or a $ 10 gyro from South Side 6. I usually choose South Side 6 — it’s that good! A couple of notes: A gyro takes about 15 minutes. A mixed grill platter takes about 30 – 45 minutes, so call ahead. It’s worth the wait.

Positives: South Side 6 was a go to spot for me when I lived in BG. Great food, big enough portions that one meal(includes a sandwich, fries, and baklava) can sustain a man all day, and reasonable prices.(about $ 10 for a meal) They also have an extensive imported beer selection for those so inclined. Their gyros might be my favorite anywhere. Negatives: I was driving by on 75 today and decided to swing by. Tried the shawarma. Wasn’t as good as I remember from previously. Seems like some of the places I’ve been to of late have a more flavorful sauce and it was a bit mushy and dull. Anyway, might have been an off day. The gyro that I had last time I was driving by was still great. Also of note, there is no seating inside, so you eat in your car or take home. Conclusion: I love this place. Rating in a vacuum today would have been lower, but my judgement is biased by previous positive experiences. Will definitely be back and update then.

The place looks like a gas station convenience store, minus the gas and the signing is a bit tacky but don’t let that fool you. A friend of mine recommended the place and it was not what I was expecting! But the food was amazing. Just a word of caution: this place will ruin you for any other hummus, pita chips or gyros you will ever have anywhere else. The ingredients seem fresh, authentic, home made. The gyro was huge and i was expecting it to be messy and one of my least favorite things about gyros is when they rip. But even though they are huge and packed with meat and veggies, mine stayed wrapped tight. I also appreciated their use of leafy green lettuce instead of the standard shredded iceburg. Hummus is great. Smooth, perfectly tart, love the texture. Selection of beers is expansive for the size of the place. Staff was quick and friendly. The only reason why I give it 4 out of 5 is because there’s really no atmosphere but I’d really like to see them expand and put in a seating area or open a full restaurant location. I plan on going back and trying the rest of the menu!

OK, so I do not give many 5 star reviews, but listen up and hear me now! This little beer store in Bowling Green, OH has the best Lebanese/Greek/Middle Eastern food on the planet. From 1974 to 1979 I attended BGSU(yes, that included Grad school so give me no grief). This shop was my beer store of choice back then. Would ride my bike from campus to… at the time… the edge of town, for a cheap 6 of Miller Genuine Draught and some eats. My first off campus apt was just east of SS6 on Napoleon Rd and I continued my shorter bike rides/beer runs. In ’80 an actual job took me and my new bride to THEINDY city. Over the next 30 some-odd years our growing family drove from the«Racing Capital of the World» to parts of «The North Coast» through BG country and many times we stopped here for a long distance«beer run/snack stop», all the while keeping it, what we thought, a best kept secret! Until now… the world needs to know… even if it’s for, as simple as, the indescribably delicious house made hummus and off-the-shelf Pita, stop now… take a plane, grab a cab, drive a car, ride a bike, hell as the man sang, take a bus Gus… just get there… today!

The only thing that would make this place better would be a dinning area. We had the Route 25 burger and fries! Both were great, without a doubt the best burger in town. And don’t leave without some hummus and pita because it’s the best hummus around! The service was awesome very quick and friendly!!!

Hands down the best gyro either of us have ever had. It’s loaded. The sauce is amazing, the lamb tender and full of flavor, the service amazing. It’s a carry out place/convenience store. We just moved to BG and being near this place is a huge bonus. But if you’re just driving though call ahead and place your order. You won’t regret it! Plus they carry some good craft beer like Kentucky Bourbon Barrel ale!

So, I’m biking across the country and use Unilocal to find great places to eat so when I saw a 5 star rating for South Side 6 I had to try it. I’m telling you it’s worth all 5 stars! Don’t let the fact that it’s in a small convenience store throw you off — it’s totally legit. As impressive as the food is, the people there are what truly separates it from elsewhere. The owner(and all employees) are as generous and hospitable as any place we’ve been! I don’t now what else to say other than if you don’t try this place… you have serious issues and I pray for you

I found these guys on Unilocal. Don’t let the look of the place scare you off. Actually, if you are not from the area — like me, you will drive right past it. Its really a beer store that sells food in my opinion. The people working last night were just amazingly friendly. I’m pretty sure one of them was an owner. He was genuinely happy that I was there buying his wares. Its refreshing to see that.(Isn’t that a shame?!) Seems like it would be the norm. As to the food, I ordered the beef gyro combo plate with fries and baklava. I also wanted to try their hummus so I ordered that and with a coupon on their website, got free pita chips. It was nice of them to honor the coupon electronically. The gyro was HUGE! Loaded with meat. You cannot go wrong here if you are hungry. I thought the gyro was very good but not excellent. The seasoning was just«off» a little. Not sure how to describe it. The sauce was excellent. The fries were nothing spectacular. They were those breaded/seasoned fries that restaurants buy in large frozen bags. At least that is how they tasted. But, I was not there for the fries. My tip to the owner, go the extra mile and serve fresh cut fries. Oh so good. The baklava was also excellent. And, the perfect after dinner snack to wipe out the taste of the onions. Not complaining… it is what it is. The hummus was also very good. I think their website says the best hummus. I give it an 8 out of 10. But then again, I grew up in a house where hummus was made fresh. However, I would also say — blasphemous as it may be — Trader Joe’s has better hummus. As to the pita chips, I haven’t had too many so not much to compare to. The seasoning was a little overpowering. And, in hindsight, I wish I had pita bread with the hummus. All in all, I recommend the joint — especially for the gyro. I will come again.
