Not this time! Even though I have had several visits that were better than this one, today was not good at all. Today, the famous bread, which has always been so fresh and warm and wonderful — was obviously yesterdays left over bread. I guess thats what happens when you arrive towards opening time. Even though they spell«APPETIZER» incorrectly on the wall, when someone pointed it out to them they said, «ha ha, oh yea» so this tells you how they feel about standards and getting things right. The waitress today DEFINITELY had a chip on her shoulder, like she was doing you a favor the entire time you were there. Asked if there was any other possibility or choice of vegetable — «NOPE that’s what you get.» The portion of food was very small. You can get two pieces of chicken, but when it’s obviously one piece that was«butterflied» in half, you feel like you have been had. We didn’t order from the 9.99 menu or the early bird menu, so at the regular prices, you would think there would be some better size portion or choice or substitution at those regular prices. Sorry, but not today. Doubt there will ever be a return trip. You could get better quality and value at a lower price at the Golden Corral. — SAD.

Went to have«Early Bird» but weren’t told was«cash only». Seems a simple way to scam. If you don’t have cash, they can conveniently charge you a couple dollars extra. Why not just charge the money and get over your tax scamming.

Horrible, Misleading Menu Advertised. Listing in Sun Sent Ad Early bird about 15 dinners starting in SMALL letters starting at $ 10.95. only two of the list were at $ 10.95. Fish was not cooked salad was water soaked. Two for one drinks(had wine) really did not make ½ glass. If you want to be ripped off try it.

I liked it a lot. True, it was an older crowd. But the early bird special is a good value.9.99 gets you an entrée, salad and dessert. My linguini and clams were cooked well. It had tons of clams. Service was friendly and efficient.

Nice find. Good service, generous portions and reasonably priced. Would recommend if you want a night out for a decent meal and don’t want to break the bank.

I had no intention of commenting on this place because I had no illusions about it’s culinary aspirations. But now, as I think about it, one word comes mind that for some reason I feel compelled to share and here it is… YUCKK!!!

Been here last year and returned to Florida an year later to have again the sautéed scallops and the New England clam chowder. Last year the taste, the service and the ambience were the best you can expect at a $ 20 menu. A solid 4stars This time 2 stars at best. I will provide 3 to average. The only excuse I can find is that we went at 8 pm(closing @9pm) Will I go back? Not sure. Only if nothing else open at the same time

This is certainly one of the worst meals I ever had! The New England clam chowder: by far the worst I had; the one served at Delray Medical Center cafeteria is top notch by comparison! The fried calamari: nothing special, it’s hard to screw that up, but I’ve seen worse! The lobster fradiavolo: chewy crappy minuscule lobster tail and claw(the ones from Costco are 10 times better), smelly clams, average oysters, pretty tasteless pasta. Sautéed snapper: tasteless. House wine, merlot: total chemical crap that gave my wife an allergic reaction on the spot(she’s allergic to bad wines with lots of sulfites)! Paid $ 85 for all this crap. Could have eaten much better for less at nearby places. Stay away from this dump!

Visited the Captains Catch while visiting my grandma in Delray beach. In the few months that she’s lived here, it’s the only place she has been to more than once. We had a reservation and waited just a few minutes before being seated. Our table was in the front of the restaurant but the isle way to get to the table was teeny tiny!!! The place was packed, mostly with seniors, and wait staff was very attentive and patient with the customer base. My grandma couldn’t stop raving about their special’s menu which includes a drink, soup or salad, entrée with vegetables and dessert…$ 55 for 3 people, including tip… we definitely got the most bang for our buck!

Well, let me start with I really don’t understand all the 1 – 2 star reviews or maybe I just went on a good day, I dunno. There were six of us in the party. We were immediately greeted by the sweet waitstaff and seated, given water and menus. Service was great,(Melissa was the name of our server I think). Service was great, we were never out of drinks & kindly offered dessert. Food did take a bit long to come out but it was delicious. Two out of six of us got the Chicken Parm which was AWESOME. My dad got the scallops which he was skeptical about but really liked all in all in the end, and my boyfriend got the Crab stuffed Shrimp & cleaned his plate. All in all everything was good and deserves more than 3 stars in my opinion. It might be a place for«older crowd» but that doesn’t diminish it’s quality. 10 years ago this place was probably a huge hit.

Went for my Mom’s 85th birthday the other night, because she wanted lobster and had seen an ad for this parents wanted the early Bird, but lobster was still over $ 20 for a 1 ¼ parents ordered the clam chowder as their soup, and had to pay extra, I ordered the salad, and it was teeny. The green beans came and were tasteless and cold. Our lobsters came and were a dark red, looked like the precooked kind from the supermarket. There was no moisture or steam coming off mother said hers was cold. I touched mine, it was a tad warm, not hot. We called the waitress over and told her they were cold. She said“they’re not supposed to be?“we said no, we wanted a hot fresh lobster. she brought the manager over who asked us if we wanted something else. we said no, just a fresh cooked lobster right out of the pot. she said they don’t use a pot, they steam them, and she would not cook us another but would reheat these. We should have left, but my Dad was eating his fish, so we agreed. the lobsters returned and were warmer, but so overcooked, tough and tasteless, it was awful. There was not one bit of sweetness or water in the meat. I guarantee that there is no tank of live lobsters swimming in the kitchen, just already cooked then reheated ones. For dessert we all ordered rice pudding, since I had baked my Mom a cake to have later. I told the waitress it was her birthday, but they did not do Dad asked for whipped cream on his pudding, they said they had none, as their desserts were premade and brought in. The rice pudding had so much nutmeg on it, we couldnt eat it. This place may be good for seniors who value quantity over quality, but it was awful. Anyone who has ever had a fresh New England lobster would never eat a lobster was not go.

Just at there 2 weeks ago. The service was horrible and the food tasted like hospital/cafeteria food. They should not taut their crabcakes as «Maryland» style as there was not even a hint of crab in them. They were obvioiusly frozen. I have had better from the supermarket. Everything about the experience from the stale bread at the beginning of the meal to waiting 20 mins for your check at the end of the meal was horrendous. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and don’t bother with this place.

Ordered a 2 pound lobster that was not even 1.5 lbs. The string beans were soggy and tasteless like they were sitting in pot all day. My wife ordered soft shell crabs. They were also soggy and tasteless covered in a sauce to disguise the poor quality

Decided to give it try. I felt I was in the movie cocoon. It is for sure a senior’s dining spot most in groups with coupons and Boy! spinning the heads of the waitresses. lets says waitresses are obviously used to their clients! The food: early bird specials were early bird quality and non early bird specials were just ok. Would I return? No. Would I recommend to seniors in town, perhaps.

Bright eyes and Cotton Haired they line up to eat here. If its supper time you should have a reservation, there are AARP cards a’plenty. The food is a really good value considering the plate sizes and price; however, there’s a catch… It does not taste good. I had the flounder with a butter wine sauce. Translation… I had a soggy /fried fish w/a bucket of butter poured a’top. My date had the shrimp scampi. Aaaand her face looked like this all night :( I assure you it was because of the food… not me. Or at least thats what she says. Servers are inattentive and décor is shabby. I’ll pass on this place unless im starving.

The wait was a little long, even with reservations, but the staff was so friendly. The special shrimp and pasta dish was phenomenal. The Chilean sea bass got a great review from my dining companions. Best of all, it was affordable. Not much else to say other than how great it was.

Nice selection of fresh fish cooked anyway you like. As with most restaurants in high season, the kitchen slows down and prep and quality can suffer, however the food is still good. Try going earlier or later I suspect the food will improve.
