Love love love!!! It’s always consistent, friendly staff and definitely my favourite place to eat in Bozeman!

We were impressed with the quality of the food and service we received at many of the places in Bozeman — but this one stuck out as one of our favorites. Our server made our experience the 5 star experience. The food was great! He recommended the ‘pickled beans’ for an appetizer — and the sticky toffee cake finalized our eating experience. If we get a chance to visit Bozeman again we will definitely go back to 14 North!

Very nice gastropub in downtown Bozeangeles. The food is very good and prices are quite reasonable for what you’re getting. The grilled Montana flatbread is a fantastic appetizer that comes with various types of toppings. The one I sampled had mushrooms, a creamy sauce, and carmelized onions. Absolutely delicious. For my main, I had the surf and turf, which consisted of a filet mignon, three large prawns, asparagus, and smashed potatoes. Everything was excellent — the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the prawns were delicious, and the asparagus was served with a delicious hollandaise. The market price that day for the dish was $ 45. For dessert, I had a sticky toffee cake, which was delicious and really hit the spot after my main course. The dining area can get pretty loud, but that’s the atmosphere you’ll typically get at a place that brands itself a gastropub. There is a private room upstairs that is available to rent for meetings or a quieter dinner. Overall, I highly recommend 14 North for drinks and some very tasty food.

Six of us recently dined here, and had an overall good experience. The atmosphere is very nice, and I liked the bar set-up although we didn’t dine in that area. The servers were friendly, and informative. Menu is good, although some of the portions at our table were small for the prices.(We found the menu averaged $ 4-$ 6 more per entrée than the other upscale local restaurants). Our biggest surprise was the Calamari. Since we love this appetizer, we order it everywhere, and 14 North’s take on this favorite was nothing more than a large Kale salad with maybe a dozen teeny-tiny soggy rings of Calamari sprinkled on the top as a garnish. One of our friends commented that the small calamari rings wouldn’t have fit on her little finger. .. . and she was correct! And side sauces for the other appetizers were nothing more than mayo. So skip the appetizers and go straight to the entrees and you shouldn’t be disappointed!

We decided to check 14 north out for a date night. We walked in around 5:30 and were told to seat ourselves in the bar area. The hostess was nice enough but very hard to understand when she told us the specials and who our waiter was. The waiter was nice enough but not super attentive. We ordered the fried bacon and calamari. They were both underwhelming; the sauces tasted like plain mayo. The menu is also underwhelming, nothing really struck out fancy so we asked for the bill and went elsewhere. When the waiter asked how our appetizers were, we replied«ok» and he didn’t know how to respond. He pretty much walked away and got our bill, with no attempts to improve things. All in all we were unimpressed.

We had such an amazing experience, from the wait staff, the food… Our daughter wrote a comment card, and found the manager to compliment everything! Thanks for everything!

Prior to dining at 14 North, I read the reviews and noticed several mentioned the lack of customer service. Going into our reservation, I had prepared myself for this. I was pleasantly surprised. Rich, the bartender, was exceptional with delicious Martinis. David, our waiter, was spot on and Mark, the GM, was fabulous. My husband had the filet and I had the salmon. Both were made to order and were over the top flavorful and delicious. We stopped by the bar for an after dinner drink. I mentioned to Rich that I had enjoyed a salted caramel candy earlier in the day and challenged him to recreate that taste. He knocked my socks off with a perfect creation. We hope to come back to Bozeman next month and would certainly make this our go to spot. Thanks for an amazing evening, 14 North,

Appetizers can’t be topped, excellent wine list, and atmosphere. Bacon wrapped figs, tempura bacon, flatbreads, veal meatballs, and meatloaf bites steal the show. If you are in Bozeman this place is the place to go.

Their Patriot steak is my go to on their menu. My favorite place to have a great steak! They also have great appetizers and salads. The owner Josh, always makes his way to the table to say hello and thanks for coming in tonight. That small gesture and customer service really makes you feel welcomed. Looking forward to their new restaurant on North 7th.

Food was generally good except the pulled lamb tasted more like beef. Very nice atmosphere, a bit more upscale than most restaurants in Bozeman. The server needs more training. He cleared the table by stacking dishes on our table then carrying them away. That’s not consistent with service an upscale restaurant should have.

Between the fun & varied drink menu, the diverse snacks menu, the mouth watering dinner menu and the happy hour specials, you simply can’t go wrong! There is something on the menu for everyone. I have really enjoyed the drunken’ pig, sugar pea gnocchi, butternut squash tortellini, and their steak special(over multiple visits of course!). The bar area has been perfect for walking in any night. The service has been on par for the most part. It has certainly become one of my favorite spots in Bozeman. Plus, it’s locally owned and operated which is always a plus. Go for happy hour from 4 to 6 for lower prices on snacks and a few drink specials.

Service was acceptable, flatbread was terrible. Asked for a refund and received a partial credit.

Hubby and I just wanted to have a few appetizers and drinks so we decided to check out 14 North. It had been a while since we were in and we were happy to see some menu changes. Of course we got an obligatory Caesar salad with anchovies. Seems like they are doing homemade croutons now! Yum! Always good. Had some amazing chanterelle mushrooms cooked with goat cheese and wine. Loved the crispy focaccia they served it with! We also got HUGE scallops with a sweet pea purée. They put some cornmeal crust on them which was fine, but a hard sear would’ve done the job just as well for some crunch. I wished for more bacon, or smaller pieces to add to each bite!

Had a fantastic dinner here last night. Very cool bar area. The chevre fondue was incredible, we highly recommend it. Both of our steaks were great(the patriot and downtown filet), and the toffee and chocolate cake were very tasty. The service was perfect. The food and drinks came out very quickly and our server was pleasant but not overbearing.

My fiancée and I stopped in here by chance while we were passing through Bozeman, and couldn’t have been happier with our dinner. Happened to be happy hour, so prices were very reasonable. Food was exceptional. Lamb sliders and a cheeseburger… both types of meat were fresh, well seasoned, and generally delicious. Clearly not your average grade of meat being used, and will be my new standard against burgers in my hometown(which is saying something.) Even the fries and ketchup were as well done as you can do that kind of thing. Service was good, attentive enough without hovering. Place was fairly empty when we were there, but had a nice ambiance and design to it. Only thing I would improve are the chairs which felt like there was missing springs/mesh in them because they sank so much in the seat.

Seems like this should be a nice restaurant, but it was disappointing and our waiter was, per his own admission, tipsy from a wine tasting they were having(!?). –Our entrees were brought out just a couple minutes after getting our salad, crowding the table with too many plates and making us feel rushed. –I had the vegetarian special. The description sounded great but the execution was a bland and flavorless risotto. –Three of our party ordered the downtown filet(steak) but when they were brought out the server didn’t know which was medium rare, went back to the kitchen only to find out they were all medium.(They cooked a new one, which was good, and the meat was very tender.) –Our waiter never refilled our water until we asked for more while ordering dessert. None of us were having other drinks, so this was annoying. On a positive note, the desserts were very good and reasonably priced. This restaurant has potential, but it’s not there yet.

If you haven’t been to 14 North lately you are missing out! This place is awesome! The gnocchi dish is fabulous and their Customer Service is top notch! We walked in tonight at 9:45PM for dinner, craving the gnocchi only to be told that they weren’t serving the main menu… only Happy Hour! Imagine my disappointment, especially because Open Table said they were serving dinner until 10:30! When I questioned the hostess, Ashley, she came back and said that they would serve off of the main menu! They just jumped up a bunch in my book!!! Sonja was an attentive server!

Are here one night while on a ski week staying in Bozeman. As per the reviews we avoided the dining room hoping for more attentive and friendly service in the bar area. We were rewarded. Hostess and bar wait staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. I had the pork spare ribs and roasted veggie salad. The main issue with the timing of receiving our meals. We both ordered salads and me the ribs for my main and my friend the lamb burger. We assumed they would serve the salads together, but they did not and did not ask us the order of food we would like. So u got my ribs when my friend got his salad. Then when I mentioned I expected my salad first they brought it, but I was not feeling like held ribs in the kitchen so lead them both while my friend had his salad. Lamb burger was tasty and juicy. Well cooked. Roasted veggie salad was also excellent with the raspberry vinegarette. Cesar was ok. Ribs were tender, but there was really no slaw salad to be noticed under them. Maybe they were running low ?? All in all a good experience. Great wine and beer choices and as I said, friendly attentive staff in the bar.

We stopped in for dinner. After sitting at table for 10 minutes a waiter finally showed up to take our order. I ordered some wings and some artichoke dip. They arrived 40 minutes later. The wings were terrible. The dip was amazing!!! I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf. I love bacon. The dish had very poor presentation. The meatloaf was very burned. The asparagus was soggy and the potatoes were yucky. My wife ordered a sandwich and fries. The pork sandwich was great. They forgot the fries. Since the wait service was nonexistent we could not let the waiter know. She finally got her fries after she was nearly done eating. We sat at the at the table for another 10 minutes before we the waiter stopped by agsin. We asked for our bill. He finally brought it another 10 minutes later. So basically we got there at 4pm and got finished at 6:10. Although the atmosphere is very nice the service suck. We will not be back. PS– I think the waiters name is John or Mark.(I still cant belive how terrible our service was. We were the only ones there for the first 20 or 30 minutes.

To really evaluate a restaurant, one must go to dine during Friday evening’s dinner service. It is when the kitchen and service staff are tested the most and management needs to shine. And so we finally went, despite the very mixed reviews which led us to this one-year delay, hoping for the initial wrinkles to have been ironed out. We ate in the seat-yourself bar area on a comfortable table and chair. While the room off the entry seems to be nice and private, the are we were in was louder than most bars I have been to, making it more«pub» than«gastro». Conversation was difficult unless you didn’t mind out-screaming the guy at the table next to you. Service was mediocre at best, another example of Bozeman’s service desert. A waiter who may smile, but neither listens nor cares about your experience. Whether it is bringing you the wrong drink or slamming it down on the table in passing without comment. This theme remained through the night with indifference being deemed the appropriate reaction to sub-standard food, topped off with an incorrect bill amount. At this point we didn’t care anymore and just paid the extra money trying to get out of there in order to never return. The ambiance is decent. The woodwork completed by the previous owner is, for modern times, pretty incredible and lends this establishment an heir of sophistication. The theme works well throughout until one notices the tiger-striped bar stools. Who thought that kind of a crime against humanity would be a good idea? Some Las Vegas stripper-turned-interior designer must have consulted on this project. The food varied from good to poor. The truffle fries are recommended widely and rightly so. The burgers are pretty decent, although it seems they pour lots of liquid smoke in the meat mix. That is a way of cheating I just can’t appreciate; should I be mistaken and they legitimately smoke them, they are seriously overdoing it. The Lamb Gnocchi were the biggest disappointment. Way overcooked, bland and expensive to boot, it was more aking to a bad Thanksgiving meal at Denny’s followed by getting robbed upon leaving. This place now commands first place in town for hopelessly overpriced restaurants(except Happy Hour specials, they seem to be the only reason worth going here). You can’t charge $ 14 for a Burger unless it competes for best in town or is Bison. You can’t charge $ 7 for a small bowl of fries. Period! And certainly not close $ 27 or so for overcooked Gnocchi and Lamb that tastes like it came out of a can. As one would expect, no restaurant owner in town will make any effort at improving aspects of their business as long as its tables are filling up every night. At this point in time, money is flowing down Bozeman streets and every moron can run a restaurant and suceed. We will need to wait for another economic downturn for a cleansing to happen!
