I have had great experiences in this café. This Friday morning was not one of them. The great waitress that is normally there(and always tuned in to her clientele) — absent. I sat at the counter for 10 minutes and no one even looked at me. Others, at the counter still waiting to be served. Staff running around, looking bothered and seemingly without organization. I walked out without eating. Suggestions: hire more staff and/or have a floor manager.

This place is a great place to go! It is always busy though comfortable any time of year! My wife and I always have a good experience here! Food is good and service is usually good considering how busy the place is! I have no problem recommending it. It’s not fancy if you need parsley or an orange slice or something like that to make you happy… It’s just simply good food!

Filled with locals. Great breakfast. Great price. Bacon, thick cut, cooked just right. Loved that hardly anyone was had their cell phones out. Would definitely recommend and would go back the next time I am in town.

It’s very affordable, food is good. Could be better, but it hits the spot. The place is a staple in bozeman. They support the community in many ways. It’s a really neat place!

The Western Café renews my faith in the Montana that I grew up in: Classic small town feel, excellent food with generous portions, and a fair price. The staff has always been attentive; the owner is always on deck and working with her staff. Biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and the satiated feeling as you walk down those steps and step on to Main Street knowing that you are truly happy. Treasure these moments.

Arrive early, eat hearty, talk to strangers and enjoy your experience. Want to give 3−½ stars — 4 is pushing it and 3 is not enough. Fast and friendly staff although our server spent more time talking to another patron instead of seeing if we needed anything after we got our food. She did however come by before we were completely done and check on us. Took a bit longer to get the bill than I expected. Now to the important things. Ordered ham, sausage cheese omelet with hash browns and 1 biscuit with gravy instead of toast. Omelet was very good. Hash browns needed more time on the grill and some more flavor, pepper helped. Biscuit was fluffy, cooked properly and tasted good. Sausage gravy was thick but needed more flavor, again pepper helped. Wife had The Best in the West. She said it was really good. Hot chocolate was excellent.

Great food and service, hard to find a better breakfast in the area. Get there early or be prepared to wait. If you do have to wait, ask for a menu to look at. That way once you are seated you can order and enjoy the energy of this place.

I’ve been here multiple times since I moved to Bozeman 3 years ago. The food is pretty good, I’m always satisfied with the eggs Benedict. The service is just an absolute mess. There’s always people frantically running around but it seems that somehow no one gets paid attention to. My water glass is routinely left empty and I see the server no more than 2 times, once to order and once when they bring the food and check. Used to be one of my favorite places in town but not sure if I will be returning.

Best damn chicken fried steak in the northwest! Perfect breading, cube steak, and by far the best sausage gravy you will ever eat! Housemaid jellies and pretty good coffee. $ 9.75 is a steal for the quality of this beef!

Here’s the scoop: Good food served fast and hot. Diner atmosphere without the grease on your food and that weird smell on your clothes when you leave. Friendly and attentive staff. Did I mention breakfast served all day?! Booths or bar seating. The best jam ever. Seriously. Well priced menu and daily specials. You really should eat here.

Tons of charm. This is the type of place you want to find when you want something that feels real/local. Great food, incredibly wonderful, friendly, ass kicking attentive staff. Portion of food was much bigger than I anticipated, never a bad thing. Had to park a decent hike away though, as the downtown was super busy that morning, around 9:30am. All in all, great diner style place that makes me proud to live in America and happy to visit the great state of Montana!

August 5th — heading to the west coast with the family When we left Ontario heading to the west coast we decided«no fast food» stops, and we would Unilocal our way across America(and Canada on the way back). This place was well worth the stop… authentic, down home, great food, and solid service — even in the midst of the breakfast rush! The five of us each had something different and everything was amazing. Thirty minutes later, three kids were out cold in the back seat, and I was wishing that I had grabbed a slice of pie from the homemade pie display case.

Love this no frills breakfast place. Service was fast and friendly and the food was simple and good. I have no idea if the ingredients are organic or local but what I can tell you is the biscuits and gravy taste just like biscuits and gravy should. We waited around 10 minutes for a two stools at the counter and watched the small army of workers hustle. We decided to have piece of strawberry ruhbarb pie to start with that they warmed in a microwave. The filled was good but the crust of course was soft from the microwave. I had the summer special of a poached egg, bacon, home fries and buscuits and gravy and all under 10 dollars. The French spouse liked her food. With tax and tip it was still under 30 dollars. Love the prices! It’s a great small town diner. Not wheelchair accessible.

Good down home breakfast, Friday morning 10am. Wood and linoleum Cowboy ranch décor, yellow stain glass chandler light. country music playing softly in the background. Took about 25 – 30 minutes to get food. Everything cooked perfectly, hash browns could have been more seasoned but nothing some hot sauce couldn’t fix. Fun place to bring the city folk and family for breakfast.
