Best breakfast place in Bozeman. Very chill as the young people say including a list of house rules that should apply everywhere. Hole in the wall. Bozeman is still a pretty hip town.

Decent but overpriced food, good mimosas. Wish I could enjoy them but last time we were there, we were standing at the patio entrance looking for a table. The waitress barked«go inside!» We clarified that she was speaking to us, because it was in the tone she may have used to command a dog. «Go inside!» she repeated. The service there is consistently below average. We left and went to Nova. Better food, air conditioning, and always excellent service. Highly recommend Nova.

Food was ok but over priced. Ordered country fried steak that was chewy and not good. Listed on menu at $ 10.50. When bill came it was $ 12.75. I asked server and she said they changed the price. You need to charge the price something is listed at or at least tell the customer. 2 stars is generous.

Refreshingly Simple. Just a wonderful meal with a great environment. Had the Baconable and my boyfriend had The Felix, just a great breakfast.

Cateye is one of my favorite places to get breakfast! The banana french toast is a must try and they usually have awesome specials that change each day! I also recommend trying some of their mimosas, they have lots of flavors to choose from and you can choose to have just a glass or a pint for sharing with groups! The waitstaff is great and attentive even when they are slammed! Their waitlist and waiting area could use some work, when its busy you write your name and party down on a sheet hanging from the wall but this can be a challenge when there is a lot of people waiting by the door and you can’t get in. This also results in sometimes having to wait out side even on rainy and snowy days. There is no where to stay dry if this happens and I have spent some mornings going back and forth from the parking garage across the street in order to stay dry from the rain.

Great breakfast of biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon. Banana bread French toast very yummy and lightly egged. Be ready to wait, but worth it.

Found the cateye café on Unilocal the morning after a great evening in Bozeman. My wife and I had already had a wonderful dinner at the copper whiskey the night before so I wasn’t sure if it would be possible to bat 1000 on great dinning experiences in Bozeman however the catseye was the cherry on top to an already wonderful weekend getaway to Bozeman. The staff was very nice and an old brick bldg. converted into a café, we timed it right because we walked in and a table was available however the masses began showing up and there was a small wait for others, sometimes everything just falls into place and the cateye was a wonderful way to end a great trip.

Had a great time. Food was fantastic! Shared a fishbowl and the alley cat. Both were very tasty. The mimosas tasted similar even though they had different flavors going on but is a very minor qualm with an otherwise great dining experience.

We live in Bozeman and have been to breakfast here a number of times. After a half hour wait to be seated, we sat down and ordered coffee and our food. It was just the two of us, and we got our usual breakfast favorites. I had not even had a second cup of coffee when our waitress came over and said that they were going to have to ask us to leave because there were so many people waiting. I expressed that I was wanting a refill of coffee and another girl came over, slammed down a to go cup and said, «If you want more coffee, here’s a cup… we have a no camping policy !» I was very offended. I will probably never go back there and will warn my friends.

This is the best place in Bozeman. Both service and food are fun AND great! Food is delicious, and the servers are delightful and quirky… The mimosas are the main event.

Excellent food. I had the Steak salad and a Brie BLT. Everything is fresh and tasty. Prices are fair. Best meal I had in Bozeman. It is a casual comfortable atmosphere.

Great place for breakfast — awesome drinks, food, and service! Banana bread French toast is a must. The huckleberry mimosa was also awesome.

Great service. Awesome mimosa selection. Lovley ambiance and beautiful display of food. I ordered the vegaterian scramble and my eggs were undercooked. The place was slow but we were slightly rushed with the bill and leaving after we finished eating. We wanted to sit and enjoy our mimosas and coffee, we did anyways.

This cute little café, in the heart of Bozeman, doesn’t serve your standard b’fast fare. It’s heavy on the Mex style(see below) and a more sweeter take on your traditional offerings. Not being one to choose this for my first meal of the day, I focused on the specials. Pumpkin pancakes and bacon/veggie frittata were on tap. I was all in for the frittata, a blend of roasted zucchini and onion mixed with hash browns and gouda served with a side of warmed blueberry coffee cake. Very good and portion was sizeable, plenty leftover. Great service, I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup. While worthy of 5 stars, it receives only 4 in this review. This was in part due to the heavy weight of the Mex and, more importantly, no sourdough. Sourdough is a must in the west!

Delicious. Servers were quick refilling my coffee, and friendly. The banana bread french toast was better than I thought it would be — if anything, I just want more of that catnip sauce! Another table ordered the biscuits and gravy, which looked fabulous. They also have flavored mimosas, which I have not tried, but again looked delicious, with the appropriate champagne/juice ratio. Overall, I was cozy and fed. Don’t forget to wear your cat eye lenses!

Good selection of food choices and we sampled a bunch since we had a fairly large party. The Fried chicken sandwich was okay, could have been a bit more flavorful but the chicken was juicy. The orzo pasta salad as a side with the sandwich was excellent. I could have eaten a full portion of the pasta salad! We also had an order of Mac n cheese with prosciutto which was a good choice — cheesy with Parmesan and crispy prosciutto. The banana bread French toast could have used more custard. It tasted more like banana bread with maple syrup than French toast. The smoked fish chowder was a good choice for the soup of the day. The chicken fried steak was nothing write home about especially if you have tried this on Texas in the past, but it was decent. Service was not great but we were there in the lunch rush so that may have had something to do with it.

If you want an OK breakfast, go here! But who in the world wants OK(and bad service) when you can go to many other restaurants in Bozeman and get 4 or 5 star meals? I felt the same… I have come to the Cateye a few times and would agree with many other points folks have made. The food is alright, nothing too special. Yes, they have Banana Bread French toast, but if that is the only truly unique thing on the menu then they need a helping hand here. The food often comes out as a total mess on the plate and the Chicken Fried Steak was questionable– I gota say it looked like they pattied out the canned cat food and fried it up… it’s all starting to make sense now. As for the service, this is the worst part. I have NEVER experienced good service at the Cateye and only once, when I was with someone who knew the server, did we receive good service. This is a bad sign to me! Don’t favor! You serve all who come to dine the same, please! Move on, lots of better options on Main.

An advantage of visiting someone who lives in a particular town, they’ll take you to the really good places! First of all, this place is a bit small & noisy but worth the noise for the yummy food & kitschy décor. I asked one of the waitresses, she says the kitty decorations come from their customers, it’s a very fun atmosphere. One of my daughters had a brie BLT w/orzo pasta salad, she said the BLT was a bit heavy on the mayo but otherwise delish & the pasta salad was super yummy. I had their meatloaf w/mashed potatoes & gravy… VERY good, nearly as good as my own meatloaf & that’s saying something :) If I had a quibble, it would be that I’d loved to have had some broccoli or other green veggie w/it but that’s a small thing. Service was professional & friendly.

Real comfy place only a block off Main Street. Nice shaded outdoor area as well as funky inside playing on the Cateye theme. This is kind of place that has serious regulars and the servers know all their names. Focus is breakfast and lunch items, and there are a lot if unique menu items featuring pretty much anything you can think of, with their own twist. Excellent coffee kept topped up by my server. Getting the food out of the kitchen takes a bit of time. I think they start everything fresh. However, I didn’t mind the 15 – 20 minute serving time as there is lots to see on the inside and the staff is so much fun to watch interacting with the patrons. Parking is a bit dicey as on street is limited. There is some parking in a small lot on the side, else find a side street spot I thin a block or two of the restaurant. I highly recommend breakfast here if you are in Bozeman around Main Street. Think you’ll really like it.
