Went here for happy hour and something to eat on a Sunday afternoon. They have $ 5 house margaritas that are made from scratch and not a mix during happy hour. Their salsa is very good and tasted like it was homemade and a little bit spicy. Our server was great, her name was Mady. We had the pork enchiladas, shrimp and fries and a power bowl. Everyone enjoyed their food. The pork enchiladas were really good and so were the re-fried beans. My husband enjoyed the shrimp and they seemed like they were fresh. We asked about some of the fish items on the menu and found out they use frozen fish, so don’t assume that just because you are near the water that the seafood is all fresh. We watched football in the bar and the atmosphere here is really casual, They had a guy playing guitar in the bar, but it seemed like it really didn’t fit with the place since it was just acoustic music while everyone was really watching football. This is definitely worth a try if you are visiting Anna Maria Island and are in the mood for Mexican food. They have outside seating as well with a view of the beach.

This place is mediocre at most. Chips and salsa are good the hamburger is good. If you’re looking for good mexican this isn’t the place. The green chili tacos are dry and have NO taste at all. The place is cute and service is right on you every second. I’m sure it would be good to have drinks at.

Stopped here tonight a little after 7pm. Got seated immediately. That was the highlight of our experience. After 10 – 15 minutes, no one came. The hostess brought another couple to sit next to our table and asked if anyone has come over. We told her no. She said she would get the waitress came over right the way and got us some water. Another 5 minutes went by and no one came. The couple sat next to us left. Then we heard a waitress mentioned to a table next to us that they are out of rice. Really? In a Mexican restaurant?! We left without a waitress stopping by. Wow! Just speechless. Unfortunately this was the second time it happened to us in this area. I would give it a zero star if I could.

Decided to visit for lunch well after normal lunch hours and was surprised at the time to get our food. First round drinks came out within a reasonable time then everything seemed to stop. We waited another 40 minutes for refills and a about 10 minutes more for our food. Once the food arrived it was good, the All In burger was good as well as the Wicked Nachos! I truly do not fault the server as the bar and kitchen seem to be the issue, perhaps understaffed?

Excellent food! Service was extremely slow even though restaurant was only half full, not sure why. Will be back and hope the service picks up because the food is worth it.

Great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a decent meal. Service is a little disjointed, but its not terrible and the food is solid! We will be going back! Two thumbs up!

We opted to eat here our last night on the island. First impression was that it’s a super cute, quaint little establishment. The greeter lady was very personable and checked on us frequently. Our server, Hillary, was rather brash. When my dad inquired what they had to drink her response, «there is a menu right there.» When asked if I could get a chicken and beef enchilada for my meal, her response was, «normally I would do that, but our kitchen is busy so I don’t think they will do that.» Well, my next thought is, first, then why offer it?! Second, we are the only people in the entire back portion of the restaurant. Her attitude made me uncomfortable – in turn jaded my view. But, the food was phenomenal. If you can get past the abrasive server you won’t be disappointed with the cuisine!

Went at lunch with 4 adults and 3 kids(5, 3, and 9 months). High chairs and boosters available. Cool and comfortable inside on a hot day and seating outside looked nice. Shrimp tacos were delicious! Fresh taste and light on the breeding. Clean and bright on the inside. Hilary was our server, friendly and attentive. We have been to Anna Maria twice a year for the past five years, glad to have a new place to eat!

Food was awesome. I had the wrangler burrito and my husband had tacos. He enjoyed his meal as well. The burrito was so big and came with rice and beans, I was full for the rest of the day after lunch. Definitely will be coming back!

Just click«Map It!» NOW We found ourselves next door to Wicked Cantina at Sea Kat Divers because we were snorkeling the sugar barge wreck site across the street that morning. *See Bradenton Beach Sugar barge wreck review* I smelled the tortilla chips cooking but«we have a dive mission at hand» my outspoken stomach rumbled. The next day we hit it for early dinner and I’m glad we did. Great Service We were greeted immediately by our server who was super friendly. She brought hot, chrispy corn tortilla chips and killer Cali style salsa. Two days later we walked in and she was on break but said«hey you guys are back! So happy to see ya» and we were taken care of by DamnIwishIaskedhisname who was a chill cool kid from Cali born in the same hospital I was in Newport Beach. uh…30 years after me… Location is perfect On the beach road but at 25 mph, cars don’t effect the vibe. Spacious inside A/C chilled seating and large umbrella shaded patio. No wait. The owner told us he is installing lighting on the patio soon but you might be able to rough it by moonlight. just keep chanting«I think I can, I think I can, I think I can… Food on Point Before our food even arrived, the owner was walking to each table and speaking with guests about their experience. I thought… this is gonna be yummy. I ordered Green Chili Pork Enchiladas– my default fav –with a deal agreed to share with m’hubs who ordered a Angus Beef Burger and fries. Well let’s just say the deal was off on both sides when we took ownership of our plates although we each tasted each others and loved ‘um! The burger meat was quality cooked perfectly–«no pink» as ordered. Piping hot fries. The Green Chili Pork Enchiladas hit perfectly on the spice meter, portion scale and were stuffed with slow cooked, fall apart pork and covered with mild melted white cheese. Refried Beans & Rice were authentic mf’s. Weak beer selection– Only mega conglom commercially brewed«beer» on the menu. Why not support local brewers like Cigar City Brewing in Tampa or Circus City Brewing Company in Sarasota? Luckily Wicked Cantina has a full bar so he suffered down a Hendricks Gin and tonic, Phew!

We’re staying on Anna Maria Island for a week and found this place by searching on Unilocal. We were dying to have some Mexican food, as it’s our first trip back to the US in 19 months(living in New Zealand now). Our server was great, friendly and anticipated our needs(e.g. brought extra napkins for the kids and lidded cups for them). The free chips and salsa were also good and their crispy saltiness met every need to quench the craving I had for good tortilla chips. I ordered green chili pulled pork tacos — no green chili in NZ — they were awesome. A little bit of spicy but nothing overwhelming. I would come back here every day to eat them again. Yum, yum, yum. You have the option of 3 different types of beans to accompany your meal and side of rice. My husband had the enchilads and enjoyed them. He was also a fan of the margaritas. The server told us to come back on Wednesdays, where they have a taco $ 1 special during the happy hour from 5−6pm. This would be a great value, though we haven’t had the chance to do this. They also have a kids menu and a nice little variety of options for the youngsters.

My husband and I had dinner at the Wicked Cantina last night and had a great time. He ordered the Carnitas Tacos and I had the Cheeseburger with fries. We were both pleased with our meals. My hamburger was huge, more than I could eat. The meat was delicious. He found his tacos flavorful and the portion size just right. They had live music and a happy atmosphere. Our server was courteous and helpful. Great place all around.

We saw some bad reviews on this place but we decided to try it anyway. My husband and I sat on the porch(there is inside seating as well) where most of the tables are covered by umbrellas which is great for summer sun. The staff is friendly. The food was delicious. They bring automatically to your table, some lovely fresh and hot nacho chips with a little stone pot of salsa for dipping. I had the wicked quesadilla with rice and pinto beans. My husband had the brisket tacos. Both of the dishes were delicious. They have live music on Wednesday and Saturday nights by a local guy who is very good. This place is right across the street from the beach and you get a lovely ocean breeze while eating. You can watch the sunset with a Margarita melting in your hand. My husband and I will return.

Went here with two of my girlfriends. The service was quick and mildly friendly. Our food also came very quick– which was a plus since we were really hungry. Another plus was our waiter was sure to keep our salsa and chips full The tacos were good I can’t complain. I’m sure I could have had better somewhere else. Prices were not bad either. In total for two pulled pork tacos and a beer I spent about $ 16.

We stopped here between lunch and dinner, so there were just a few other people in the restaurant. Service was friendly and quick. I got a combo meal with a ground beef taco and two cheese enchiladas. It came with rice and your choice of black, pinto or refried beans. They also had a jalapeño ranch dressing on the side that was really good. Our table also got an order of nachos that they really enjoyed. It was vegetarian too. I would definitely go again, but I did notice it gets busy during peak times. Based on other reviews, it might be best to hit it off peak.

We stopped in the foe $ 2 margaritas, the service was good. We did not et any of the food so I can’t comment on that but the drinks were quite weak, what can you expect though from a $ 2 drink…

Finally a TexMex place at the beach and location is perfect. We ate at the bar with Nancy who open the place and she had nothing but great things to say about the place and owners. No liqueur license as if yet but coming soon, so we had beers. Limited selection of drafts and no local beers — should partner with MotorWorks. We shared the fajitas and the meat side was great but the extras plate was lacking and needs great improvement. Awesome place and will try again soon.
