I’m such a breakfast person, and this is the only place I ever want to eat breakfast again. Everything is on point here! When I come to visit my hometown I always make it a point to come here. My all time favorite dish is an eggs Benedict with asparagus and home made corned beef hash. Nothing tops it! My family goes here all the time, it’s just overall the best breakfast place in the entire area.

This place was recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed by the food, it was really good, reasonnable price. I got the poached eggs with mushrooms and swiss cheese, yum! We were happy to be seated right away on a Sunday at 2pm because we were starving. Only negative things were that we waited a long time to get our food and didn’t get any bread or glass of water. But the food was really good so will probably give it a second chance.

This review comes from two visits to this quaint breakfast spot in the Jersey Shore. My four star rating comes from a five star experience and a three star experience, so I averaged them out into four. A rating they deserve. I ordered the same thing both times I went: the white cheddar and broccoli omelet. The first time it was actually quite good; it was extremely tasty(thanks to that spectacular cheese they use) and the biscuit it came with was really delicious as well as the home fries. The second time I went, for some reason, the omelet was so oily that parts of it were inedible. I do not understand what happened but it really was disappointing. Also, the biscuit wasn’t as good as the first time that I had gone. Regardless of this, I still think the Buttered Biscuit is a great brunch and breakfast place. It actually is really cheap considering what you are getting(some diners are more expensive) and the food is satisfying. I would definitely come back and maybe try something different.

The search to find biscuits and gravy in the Northeast is a tireless one. This hits the spot. I just wish they stayed open during the winter…

This is probably my favorite breakfast place I’ve ever been to. I brought my boyfriend here while he visited from his home state all the way in Charlotte, NC. He got the southern biscuits and gravy, and he lived it. Don’t tell him I told you so but he said they were better than back home. Lovely wait staff, delicious food, admirable atmosphere. Love this place.

The prices are fair and the good is great. We usually go when we are hungover and they always give us a pitcher of water that is never empty to help us re hydrate. The staff always gets 20%!

The breakfast here is so good and if you are looking for something that’s a little different than regular breakfast food, this is the place to go. The staff is really friendly and great! We had the grilled crumb cake which was amazing. I got the corned beef hash with asparagus, it was incredible. Other menu items that are delicious are, The Buttered Biscuit Scramble Herbs de Provence, Goat Cheese and bacon, Very Veggie Omelet, Portabella Mushroom, Asparagus, Spinach and Tomato, Eggs Oscar with lump crab, French toast and their pan cakes. Really anything you get is going to be delicious!

Even though I really enjoyed the buttered biscuit, there’s still some major pitfalls despite the amazing reviews. The biscuits seem to vary day to day– one day they’ll be amazing and another they’ll be extremely dry. And majority of the staff just simply isn’t friendly or inviting, which really takes away from the experience. With that said, it’s better than majority of the food that you can get in that area of the jersey shore. Usually you’ll have to choose between paying a high price for good food or paying a reasonable price for very mediocre food. The Buttered Biscuit is perfect– not to pricey, huge portions, tasty, and super cute inside! I was so impressed that they offer unlimited refills on iced coffee! That’s my type of place ;) I ordered a special, Dave’s famous corned beef hash, which was awesome. My only complaint was that I felt there wasn’t enough potatoes and I got sick of eating spoonfuls of straight hash. And even though I’m a cheese lover, there was a little too much cheese on top. During my second visit I biked 3+ miles to the Buttered Biscuit. My boyfriend and I really thought it would be worth it. We both ordered the white cheddar and broccoli omelette, and were very disappointed. It was seriously the most oily omelette I’ve ever had in my life. I actually contemplated asking to speak to the chef because there’s no way he’d serve that to customers if he saw how oily it was. It was so oily that it stained my boyfriend’s pants and we couldn’t get it off! But the side of potatoes were at least really good. During my first visit, I loved the biscuits! When I returned, they were way too dry. If that ever happens to you, I recommend just asking for a side of jam and it won’t be too bad. Why should you pick this brunch spot over other seafood spots at the shore? The ambiance is a major plus. It’s rare to find a cute spot at the jersey shore. Most places are cheap looking hole-in-the-walls. The environment alone would make me choose it over many other places! ANDTHEGRILLEDCRUMBCAKEISAMAZING. I’m not rushing to get back there anytime soon, but I do plan to return in the future when I’m at the jersey shore. I recommend giving it a try!

Confused on how this place gets the good reviews it does. Waitress was unpleasant and borderline rude. My husband got biscuits and gravy. I got a dish with corned beef, poached eggs, biscuit etc. I get why they have to smoother the biscuits in everything. They are super dry! Dry and no flavor. They gave me nothing for my dry biscuits. After waiting 5 mins I finally flagged down a different waitress who brought me butter and a bland jelly of some sort. Corned beef and hash was just corned beef mixed with their home fries. My husband thought the beef was good. To me it had an odd taste. Kinda pricey too. Two people almost 40 for just food, a coffee and hot chocolate. Not worth it. Also toilet doesn’t flush and wasn’t working in their only bathroom.

Had been wanting to try the BB as I’ve heard many good things about it, so yesterday was finally the day. My daughter went for breakfast. Prices were reasonable & compared well to other eateries of this type. The dining area was incredibly clean, definitely a plus, & our waitress was very personable & attentive. My daughter ordered the country eggs benedict which came with home fries, 2 eggs, ham & on 2 english muffins with sauce. She thought it was delicious & after tasting it I have to agree with her. Feeling daring I thought I’d try something I don’t normally eat. I opted for the BB Scramble with goat cheese, bacon & tomato. Having an option of toast & a biscuit I chose the latter. My eggs were very good although for me personally, I wasn’t much of a fan of the tomatoes in my eggs. The cheese added a nice tangy touch, as did the bacon. I thought the biscuit was too large, rather dense, & not particularly tasty. I cut it into 3 layers & couldn’t finish half of it, even with my daughter’s help. That was in part because of the plentiful portion of eggs but also I thought it tasted a bit like grease. I tried using the cinnamon butter they had provided on it, which helped a bit, but I was not a fan. I will definitely return for one of the many choices of eggs benedict next time, but next time, please don’t pass the biscuit.

I went to the Buttered Biscuit the other morning. I’ve been a couple times before. This day, I was torn between the ho cakes and the biscuits and gravy, so the waitress suggested I order one ho cake and a half order of biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious! And the half order was plenty. Ordered an OJ and wished it would’ve been a little bigger for the price but still great.

Yes, you need to get the biscuits. Only place at the Jersey shore serving fresh, hot, homemade buttermilk biscuits with breakfast, as far as I know. The cinnamon butter and jam that comes with is also a nice touch. Dave’s Famous Corned Beef Hash is the show stopper, but their omelettes are not far off either. Haven’t tried anything sweet yet, but their stuffed French Toasts always sound enticing. I’ve also heard rave reviews about the grilled crumb cake and bruléed grapefruit. We like to sit at the bar enjoying bottomless coffee. This place is getting really popular so be prepared to wait.

This breakfast place is charming the service was excellent the grilled crumb cake was outstanding I would like to pretend it’s fat free and calorie free!!! The menu is not for anyone that is watching their diet I will say it’s very very heavy looking at some of the plates coming out. I will go back. Not if I’m going to the beach after I felt very heavy walking out.

I will have to give this place an average rating. The restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere, service was eh, and food was just ok. Don’t get me wrong, there was nothing bad about any of that but I could think of plenty of other places that I’d go to first before returning here again. On a side note, I swapped out asparagus that came with the dish for tomato slices. There was a $ 1 up charge for that which I would have minded a lot less had they mentioned it to me while I was ordering.

This place is good and well priced, but it’s not amazing. The menu is interesting. The food is very good quality. It’s a bit pricey, but for this area it’s not surprising. If you go here during the weekday though, it’s like your in an old people’s home. I enjoy the food, I will go back, I would recommend it.

Nice place is a quant beach town with good food. Glad I got to experience before the summer rush begins but still very crowded for the off season. Place is pleasant and warm and service was very attentive. I had the buttered biscuit scramble which has bacon, tomato & goat cheese and it comes with home fries and a biscuit. The scramble was extremely tasty with the goat cheese and the herbs de Provence. The home fries were fresh and cooked just right. The homemade biscuit is big and very good, definitely worth a try over toast. Very happy with my first trip here and will definitely be back.

Buttered Biscuit is more than a rare eatery; it’s practically performance art. Nestled on the corner of a bustling Jersey Shore town, never before have I felt more in touch with my inner nostalgia — whether I’m with friends or family — the experience here is always top-tier. 10⁄10 service, food, and setting makes it understandable why it’s so popular and a staple of the Bradley Beach community.

Went for a Sunday breakfast and had the crab omelette with biscuits. The menu had a couple other options I was intetested on buty server said this was gis favorite. And it was loaded with crab and topped with yummy avocados. Good call. That and a latte hit the spot at a very resonable price. If I find myself back in Bradley, definitely a breakfast spot. NOTE!!! Loved the place Sunday had to drive 10 miles on Thursday for another taste. Sorry I did, I was greeted by the host and was seated at the small table for 2. Now I understand seating, but I wanted to sit at the larger table because it is more comfortable. There was only 1 other single at 830AM. The host in a condescending tone told me I could sit at the counter. He than told me they do not seat singles at the larger tables. REALLY! !!! THEREWASONLY1OTHERCUSTOMERINTHEJOINT! I was ready to walk out but the waitress with her warm greeting and friendly smile convinced me to ignore the host and enjoy my flap jacks with fruit. I am glad I stayed… The host made the rating a 3…

Impossibly delicious, classic Sunday brunch at this Asbury Park favorite. They treated this bunch of out-of-towners with TLC. Just come early(but that’s obvious, right?) or be prepared to wait. We got in between 8 and 9, and only had to wait about 10 minutes. Others’ fates were decidedly less certain – the sidewalk fills up fast. Once you get your table you can look around the room with smug self-satisfaction, invisible-high-five other table winners, and take pity on those sad sacks still waiting outside for their eggs. The breakfast menu has both classics and local renderings. The French toast stuffed with Nutella was pretty damn tempting, but sounded like too much of a last meal, so I went with my my gut and got the Copenhagen(lox, poached eggs, and other goodies). Bingo. Everyone was gorged on the awesome breakfast and buzzing from coffee refills. Hard to do better for breakfast anywhere.

After hearing so much about this place, we came here one Monday afternoon. Judging by previous attempts to come here, it seems like it’s practically impossible to come here on weekends unless you wanna wait for two hours. So off the back, come here on a weekday if possible. Once inside, I was a bit overwhelmed by the numerous options on the menu. However, the waitress was amazing and broke down almost every item there. I went with the French toast and a side of pork roll. To start however, I ordered the crumb cake. I’ll start by saying that the crumb cake is single handed one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The sweetness is absolutely perfect and the warmness resulting from it coming fresh out the oven is indescribable. I could have eaten this all day. The french toast was good, but not amazing. I was expecting be blown away based on the reviews, but definitely wasn’t. The pork roll was deliciously unhealthy as always :) Overall a good breakfast experience and I’ll probably try some of the stuffed French toast options next time.
