I didn’t eat here… Went to have a beer and the beer list is not a list. It’s bud coors Sam Adams and something else. Had one and left.

This place is about as «local» as you can get. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just clean with good comfort food. Most of it you can tell is homemade and there is care with using quality ingredients. You’re not going to find a veggie burger, vegan options or anything considered«healthy», but it will taste good! After a day of hiking, I’d say you earned it! The regular bartender/waitress is friendly, will remember you and will greet customers in a genuine, friendly way. Decent beer selection which include the standard staples and some IPA’s. Mixed drinks are good too… they come in huge glasses as does the wine. If you find yourself hungry after a day of art at Peter’s Valley or a day exploring the beautiful nature areas of Walpack and Flatbrook, stop in for some pizza… you won’t be disappointed!

We are becoming regulars! Great place to stop for a delicious bite and a beer. I love the bar pizza… and my husband has tried the mussels appetizer and a few other dishes… he loved everything! We’ll be back soon!!!

Love this place. Friendly people, beer and pizza. What more can you ask for? I live an hour away, wish I had a spot like this by my house to hang out.

I was out on a motorcycle ride, and a buddy wanted to go here, it’s definitely a hole in the wall but a good pizza and meatball parmesan. Simple and good. Just the way I like it, when I’m in that mood. The bartender was sweet too.

I have eaten here twice. Once was takeout. The fried Calzone I received was greasy and rubbery. However it was takeout so I cut them a break. I shouldn’t have. I recently ate here for dinner on the way home. I ordered a steak and some soup. The soup was ok but the steak was truly crappy. It was a little overdone but it was the toughest most bland tasting steak I have ever had. I doubt if I will ever eat here again.

A Sussex Cty. Landmark… Deep fried clazone… birch beer… and the funkiest payphone you’ll ever see. Look for the pickle in the jar… how’d they do it. Not an Applebee’s… this place is authentic! Do miss Bruce but present owners carry on in fine fashion!

Good food, cheap drinks(at the bar) and a welcoming atmosphere(right down to the screened door entrance!). If we get up to the area late and don’t want to go out, we’ll pick up some pizzas and eat in but I would recommend going and eating AT this place and making a food choice for yourself. As we’ve only had pizzas and calzones here so far, that’s all we can speak of but both are great(for the area). Several people at the next table over got the fried calzones and while they looked amazing, there was no way either one of us could take one of them on so we went with regular calzones each, which we wound up having ample left overs for the next day. Everyone is friendly here and no one ‘sizes you up’ as an out-of-towner when you walk in(like some places in the area do) and I’d recommend going, having some drinks(a Stella was $ 3!) and then trying the food.

This place is AWESOME. For a very small bar in the sticks it doesn’t make sense that their food is this good. Normally, if I find a menu item that is phenomenal I’ll stick with it, but EVERYthing I’ve eaten there is great. From the pizza to the wings to the cheesesteak to the calzones etc. Seating is somewhat limited and takeout is not the same. You really need to eat in-house to appreciate the quality of the ingredients. It’s good for a family outing or just to have a few beers with friends and chow down. I hate that I live so far away from it. If only they had a train station next door… but I dream.

I’m always in search of great pizza and I have found it! The crust is thin, the sauce is great tasting along with the cheese. Fried calzone was also amazing. I have passed this place so many times on my way into PA and now I will be making frequent stops.

Outstanding find along route 206 North. Get a Calzone or Pizza and a few beers, after a day exploring Sussex County /Stokes State Forest great way to end a day. Not expensive at all, safe for kids(some places up here may not be). Give it a try.

I heard nothing but great things about this place, so I am sure we went on an off night I wanted to have a Deep Fried Calzone and my wife and daughter were going to help me sample the menu We were ignored a bit even though we were the only ones sitting down to eat the other 4 folks were at the bar The soda was Flat and when I asked if we could buy Cans of soda because of the Flat tap soda, the woman scoffed at us and stated«I don’t usually sell the cans» WELL? DOYOUUSUALLYSELLFLATSODA ? The real kicker was when she went to the bar 4 feet away to poor it out, we heard her chuckle to the beer drinkers as they sang«Tiny Bubbles» it’s a bar that serves food, I get it However IF they had treated us right and been friendly, our party of 3 would have turned into 50 or more, because the people I talk to follow me back to restaurants My Calzone was either Not Fried at the correct temperature or it was not allowed to drain because it was beyond greasy. If the service was better that night, I would have returned with friends to see how things were on another night I don’t doubt for a moment that the regulars love this place. That’s right — FRIEDCALZONES! «M» got the fried version and I got the regular one. Giant sized and delicious! I think we gained 5 pounds each. Pretty sure we both dreamt of those calzones for weeks.

Love going to this place when we’re camping at Stokes State Forset(Come on… a girl can only have so many campfire roasted hot dogs). Ten bucks for a large, delicious pizza. Can not beat it. Even eating inside was nice, it looks like an old man bar, but it’s clean and doesn’t have the typical smell of most old man bars. Cute little pictures drawn by kids adorn the tables.

I hv to admit the food was excellent for you standard bar styled food and a smaller off the beaten path place I was extremly happy with my meal and beverages. My favorite was the pub fries and fried calzone which is extremely hard to did in Nj anymore I definately recommnd thi place I stop in when I go hiking and camping in pa. Oh yeah and an added bonus is the food is very inexpensive
