Food tasted like water and they overcharged when they said it was a different price

When you sit for an hour and your told that people that came in after you had priority seating yeah right. So everyone that came through this door just so happen to have priority seating? Will not be back! Save your money

First time visiting this Kobe in Brandon, was very satisfied with my visit. Usually I go for the hibachi or teppanyaki, but this time we had about 6 trays of sushi. The server was super quick to serve us. He was great constantly bringing us fresh hot saki and beers and quickly bringing out the trays of sushi we kept ordering. All the sushi they brought us was incredibly delicious. The lobster topped sushi was out of this world. I’ve never had a better sushi in my life. In fact the lobster itself that was laid on top was excellent, let alone combined with the sushi it was topped on. I’ve never had a more mouth watering, satisfying, and filling tray of sushi in my life. And I eat a ton of sushi. Considering I usually enjoy this place thoroughly sitting at the teppanyaki table and having their special show and meal, now that I know they do sushi like this it makes this place even higher on my list.

It’s ok… It’s an American experience… Nothing different from every other hibachi restaurant. There is the volcano, egg drop, onion train ect show …I have seen all over the States again and again… So that’s what it is. This is a zero risk place like a McDonalds

I was staying at the holiday inn nearby, and came here on a Wednesday night with one other person. They told us the wait was 45 minutes so we went to the bar to order drinks. Two minutes later they said there was a table open, perfect. They sat us at a table with a family celebrating the birthdays of their 8 year old triplets. They were all well behaved so good on the parents, but triplets! I ordered the sirloin and everything that came with it was good. Grilled veggies were tasty and the sirloin was a nice medium rare. The fried rice rounded it out and I skipped the noodles. I was glad I did because at the end of the meal I was full but didn’t have the stuffed feeling it’s so easy to get at these places.

Don’t go on a Saturday night. They don’t know how to deal with so many people. Was told the wait was a half hour, waited for an hour… Then we were sat at a table and didn’t have a waiter come take our order(or even drink order) for another 25 minutes. If it wasn’t for my fiancé wanting to stay bc we waited already I would have already walked out.

I’ve had many Hibachi experiences and this was by far the worst. From the chef, presentation all the way to the hostess. Don’t waist your money!

I’m definitely a fan of Kobe! You get a good bang for your buck– salad, soup, grilled vegetables, noodles, fried rice, and your protein entrée all for once price! The thing that does it for me more so than Benihana are the more affordable prices and the yum yum sauce! That yum yum sauce is made from the gods. You put the sauce on your veggies, noodles, rice, and protein. Since it’s so much food, I break it up and eat half there and take the rest for lunch the next day. Make sure to ask for yum yum sauce to go. The happy hour specials are pretty great. It includes some wine and cocktails along with a few appetizers. You have to sit by the bar area but it has a few TVs so it’s entertaining at the least. Another tip– sign up for their mailing list for a $ 25 off coupon during your birthday month. Since the prices are affordable, the $ 25 enables you to purchase a pricier menu item like scallops, filet mignon, and even lobster. Your birthday coupon also includes a little cupcake!

My wife and I eat here about 4 to 5 times a year. We love the susi and the fun of the show. Service is fantastic and the food is really good(depends on which cook sometimes) but over all great food and we love the yum yum sauce.

The yum yum and ginger sauces were the best items in the place. Left with an upset stomach and paid the price the next day. Holy moly cross contamination and substandard practices. I’ll never return.

My favorite place to eat… nice hibachi… great cook and presentation… food is awesome and reasonably priced… happy hour also available… great family outing, birthday dinner, or date with a group of friends. If on a date I would recommend a private table unless you don’t mind sitting with strangers, that means no hibachi though… overall highly recommended

My visit was in October. The food was decent and abundant. We asked for double vegetables, no rice and this was not a problem. The cook was pleasant and engaging. I will probably visit again while in the area.

If you would like to try this place, better come during weekdays and lunch. Fridays and saturday dinner times are just packed with people. Be ready to wait for an hour to an hour and a half at the least. I suggest not to deal or talk much with the hostesses. Though not all, for some reason i find them not really inviting. I guess some of them dont love their job. The place also offer non hibachi dinning which you can actuallh get on some nearby places with much more quiet environment and better priced meals. Why do i come back to this place, its because their hibachi is slightly better than the other hibachi near Kobe; plus they have better entertaining chef. Its good to bring guests that have not tried this kind of dinning but holy guacamole,. I will not be here for any other reason. Let’s talk about the food. Hibachi dinner includes noodles, rice and veggies. You pick your protein like steak, shrimp, chicken, lobster, scallops, or salmon. How they cook it? Just the same way as the noodles, rice and veggies were done. So pretty much they almost taste the same. They also serve japanese salad and clear soup as part of the experience… ANDTHATSONTOPOFTHE1.5HOURSOFWAITINGTIME. If you plan to try this place during peak time, be sure to eat skme snacks first before coming.

Starting off not good. Snippy hostess staff, and trying to split up my party around the hibachi table so it was more convenient for their staff. Not so much for me… Well, the seaweed salad was okay. My Tuna Tanaka was ice-cold in the middle, and neither our server nor a manager ever stopped to ask how our meal was. This probably also accounts for the empty iced tea glass that sat on the table waiting for a refill until out check arrived, when I had to ask for more. About the check… Our chef had barely left the table, and four of the eight folks(including me) at the table were still actively eating when our server appeared with checks and boxes that she started passing game out. «Here’s the check. Here’s a box. Pack your food and get out!» was JUST how it came across. The food taste itself was nothing special, but the front end staff attitude, combined with a cold meal and being rushed away from the table, leads to a very much less than positive review for this Kobe.

We went for my sisters birthday. The restaurant is EXTREMELY clean! The staff is «politely» friendly. The most engaging was the first server who took our orders and got our soup and salad. The soup was so good. The salad was nice, nothing special. They do the normal grill tricks… well. The vegetables were the BEST! They were crispy but cooked a bit on the grill and they were NOT blackened. Perfect! Everyone loved their food– shrimp, chicken, tuna. The reason I am giving them 3 stars is they decide when it’s time for you to go. After 20 or so minutes of eating, when THEY are busy, they return to your table with take out boxes and start clearing and packing up your take out. Part of what you expect and pay for is time to be with those you’ve come to eat with. I didn’t care for their deciding when it was time for us to go I believe I am being very fair about the cleanliness and good quality good. I do feel like one of their primary goals is to get you moving out on their time table They did an adorable happy birthday song. We just sat until we were ready to leave but they checked on us. A lot. Until we left I can totally recommend the food! Just have to know they aren’t that keen on you hanging out.

Hibachi without golden sauce!!! *GASP* What’s the point? We originally sat down at a hibachi table until I found out they don’t have golden sauce(egg yolk sauce), which is the only reason I do Teppanyaki. We quickly relocated to the other side of the restaurant to try their sushi instead. I was pleasantly surprised by with their sushi side and would return for that. Kobe Breeze $ 7.5 — Delicious cocktail, not too sweet and just the right amount of liquor. Edamame $ 5 Misa Soup $ 3 Caterpillar Roll $ 12 Red Dragon Roll $ 12 — Not very spicy. Silly Eel Roll $ 12 — My favorite of the night. Fried cheesecake $ 5 — Pretty good dessert.

Excellent food, good service. If you don’t feel comfortable sitting with a bunch of strangers opt for the private dining seating. Otherwise you will be seated with random folks, cool entertainment as they prep food, fun for kids!

Typical of your Kobe restaurant experience. The food and service were good. We were greeted promptly when we arrived around 1:30 p.m. They handed us a menu that had Happy Hour specials(drink and food) for 5 — 7 pm Monday — Thursday. But, apparently this also serves as the lunch special menu as well. We were a bit confused by this initially. A combination plate of shrimp and chicken runs about $ 19. You can also add crab cakes as an appetizer for an additional $ 10 or $ 11. The had a drink special called a Scorpion Bowl that was literally on fire. My sister loved it. If you’ve been to one, you’ve been to them all.

I love the Kobe in Carrollwood, but this location is just awful. The first time I went to this location the rice was not cooked enough. There was almost instances of broken teeth. The second time I went the food and the service was not good. The waiter didn’t know much about any of the specials they have; he had to ask for help with everything. If he was new, then there should have been another staff with him to help. I ordered the noodles the second time and they were ok. The chefs here must use a different method to cook here because they seemed more creamy than the noodles at the Carrollwood location. I prefer to drive the additional 30 minutes to eat there; I’m done with the Brandon location.
