Had the peach cayenne margarita and it was delicious. Happy with a more thorough craft cocktail menu here.

Hazel will satisfy your cravings for Non typical VT grub. BBQ, wings, and basic sides aren’t your usual small pub fare here. Wings can be a bit dry but the BBQ plates are a great deal — 10 $ for a lot of food and sauce cups. Great beer selection too but that’s expected for vt.

Really good wings. Pizza was good too. Definitely an underrated spot. :)

If it weren’t for the the slow service I would have given Hazel a much better review because the tacos we had were delicious and the specialty drinks were to die for! The atmosphere is pretty cool but I wouldn’t recommend sitting at the bar — they were too busy making drinks guests at tables, that it felt like they forgot about us at the bar! I’m not sure whether I would return to Hazel, unfortunately because a meal that should have taking 45 minutes took us 1 ½ hr because of slow service.

I went to Hazel today on Valentines Day with my wife. She had the pulled chicken salad. She really enjoyed and thought it was the perfect size. I had the sweet BBQ wings appetizer which were great. because it was lunch there weren’t any ribs so I had their Turkey club which was above average. Please note that Hazel has near perfect fries. We brought back a pepperoni pizza and Poutine fries for our son and both were exceptional. The atmosphere was pleasant and the hostess and waitress were very nice. Prices are reasonable and I would suggest that their pizza is far above a plethora of local options. We will definitely return. Thanks for a really nice time!

Came across this via Unilocal.A short walk off of the main drag in Brattleboro is Hazel. It’s a smaller restaurant with table seating to the right and bar seating on the left as you walk in. While pizza occupies a large portion of their menu it certainly isn’t the only type of food that they serve. Great food, atmosphere, and busy for 5 o’clock on a Sunday, which wasn’t a bad thing. We were worried it would be dead, so it was nice for the social aspect. Didn’t give it a full 5 stars because the staff was stretched a little thin and we had to wait a bit longer than usual to get drinks. Not the staff’s fault though and they were always friendly

My new favorite pizza joint! Gets 5 stars not just for the tasty pizza, but for a truly tasty gluten free crust option! I loved my fennel sausage, onion, roasted red pepper with buffalo milk mozzarella, tomato sauce and fresh basil. Best pizza in Brattleboro in a friendly easy going atmosphere. My dining partner was very happy with his«Ella» pizza: bacon, mushrooms, onion, fresh basil, buffalo mozzarella with tomato sauce on the traditional wheat crust. Just the right amount of cheese, sauce and lovely fresh ingredients.

Great wings! Not just fried. They smoke em first which gives them a nice flavor under the sauce.

Our friends recommended Hazels for a dinner date, and after many failed attempts at BBQ in Vermont, we were pleasantly blown away by the southern BBQ options: ribs, pulled pork and collard greens. Equally as good are their specialty pizzas and cocktails. This is one of my favorite eats so far in Vermont.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had, seriously. They have other great stuff on the menu as well, but the pizza is amazing. Give it a try if you’re in town.

Honestly, just the best. We traveled through and looked at Unilocal before hand. This place is bbq and pizza. You do t have to do bbq to love this place! We had nachos with pulled pork and a margarita pizza. The food was so tasty and the service superb! The art on the walls was wonderful, as well as all the sound proofing with style. Everything was clean and the music was spot on. Best date ever! Also the waitress let me take the homemade bbq sauce home.

I’ll start by saying that Hazel doesn’t really excel at anything. Fortunately, they have a very good range and don’t seem to miss. We ordered pork nachos, fennel sausage pizza, and a Cuban sandwich. The nachos were served on a pizza tray so it was just one giant layer of chips, all of which had toppings. Good stuff. The pizza isn’t really New York Style, the crust is doughy, but still pretty tasty. While its not necessarily my favorite pizza texture, the flavors were great. I’d definitely order this again. I didn’t try any of the Cuban, but I heard good things and the fries it was served with were excellent. How many places can you get good nachos, pizza, and Cubans? In a small town in VT? They also have a small, but good selection of beer and an extensive cocktail menu. Hazel is one of the more polished restaurants in Brattleboro. Despite the town’s hippy vibe, Hazel wouldn’t be out of place in a much larger city.

I really like this place. I’ve gone probably seven or eight times at this point. I like the Leo – just buffalo cheese, tomato sauce, and fresh basil. The small size makes a lovely meal for two. It’s flavorful and different from the other pizza in town. I also like that they give you carrots and celery with ranch for a starter. It’s unique. PLUS it’s a great place to people watch in Brattleboro if you get a window seat.

Very nice spot. Presently surprised, the restaurant is very clean and well kept. The staff is super nice and the food exceeded my expectations. We were on our way from CT to the Canadian border and asked Siri for a good BBQ place to eat. Although I wouldn’t classify this as a true BBQ spot the pulled pork was good, and the pulled pork Cuban sandwich my wife has was fantastic. If you know what Putine is they nailed this one on the head. If you don’t give it a try, in sure you won’t be disappointed.

First time in, what a great little Café. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, no sooner did we sit down and we had the nicest waitress take care of us. She was knowledgeable of the menu and the food and very helpful in helping decide what to order. Everything came out in a very timely manner. Try the poutine fries, they were our appetizer. I had a smoked turkey club which was exceptional and my friend had a quesadilla special. The price was equally as good as the food. We will definitely be back and highly recommend checking out this great restaurant next time you’re in town.

Made my way home for the Christmas holiday and saw that a bunch of new(to me) restaurants had opened in Bratt. Very excited to see some new places, serving some great grub. Popped in here on a Saturday night, 6:30PM. We were a party of four and were told it would be about a 45 minute wait. We decided, why not, seeing as we could order some beers and gab at the end of the bar while we waited. There were about six beers on tap(that I could see), but a pretty comprehensive cocktail list. Three of us grabbed Switchbacks on tap and the fourth got a mixed drink. The three Switchbacks came right up, but the cocktail didn’t come until a good 7 minutes later. It wasn’t forgotten; I just think the bar was backed up. True to their word, they sat us about 40 minutes later. We were at the large«family style» table in the front of the restaurant. So we sat at one end and another party of about 5 – 6 people sat at the other. It worked well as the table was large enough to seat at least a few more comfortably. We ordered three pizzas to share: *Note — all three pizzas were with the standard crust(not GF). It was a really great crust. Suitably impressed. Not too doughy, just thin enough and cooked close to perfection. 1. The Riley(though we were informed that they ran out of pulled chicken, so we had to sub pulled pork). The Riley came with the standard buffalo mozz and sauce, but also fresh jalapeño, crispy onions, and cheddar cheese. BUYERBEWARE: the jalapenos are not cleaned of seeds before being popped on the pizza(at least ours wasn’t). We had two folks with a high tolerance for spiciness that had literal coughing fits due to overwhelming(and unexpected) levels of spiciness. 2. The Ella. The Ella features bacon, onion and mushrooms with fresh basil. It was pretty standard. Very tasty. 3. The Mason. Straight up basic. Buffalo mozz, tomato sauce and fresh basil. I damn near ate the whole thing. Probably the best cheese pizza I’ve had in a long time. I’m sticking to four stars only because we had to sub not one, but two different items because the kitchen had run out of items(the first being the pulled chicken, the second being their ribs). That said, I will definitely return to try some more of their pizza creations and branch out into their BBQ offerings.
