Really great BBQ place! Excellent prices and customer service.

We have eaten here several times and enjoyed the food. The service was something else. Was not surprised that they closed. Poor management, not paying there rent, and just up and locked the doors without any notice. We checked there on May 16th, and there was a notice from the police department that they had until the 17th to get all there equipment out or else the landlord could go in and get it. A lot of $$$$ left, and even a company truck in the parking lot. Really to bad, as the food was very good and the prices with in range. Am looking for another Dickies or new BBQ place. The one in the Orange Mall area also closed a couple of years ago.

This place sucks. Ordered food to go for dinner, got order wrong and on top of that, the beef was dry. Upon picking up my order, no greeting from a single employee there. Put in complaint to corporate, nothing.

Normally absolutely love this place! But I’ve attempted to go there for lunch the last two days and it’s closed with no sign explaining. Not a great way to run a business! Pretty frustrating. Other than that the foods amazing and service is fantastic

I stopped in for a quick lunch. When I left I was more than full and impressed with how tasty this was. For those who have never been to a Dickey’s, you can order a range of meats(sausage, chicken, brisket, pulled pork) and a wide selection of sides(cannot even describe all of the amazing options). Prices are reasonable(around $ 10-$ 15), service was great(staff was very friendly) and we were in and out in under 30 minutes. You get a lot of food for your money and the food is delicious. While the food may not be the healthiest, it is very tasty!

Never been before and looked at the menu and was impressed with a friendly staff that addressed me immediately. Told them I was just looking cause I’m picky when it comes to bbq. Got the brisket, chicken, and cheddar pepper sausage. Food was great. Chicken was tender and the brisket was smoked very well. The BBQ beans was a great choice. Got checked on to see how my food was and took time to get to know about me and my day Very impressed. When you have friendly staff and a clean environment and great food it’s a winner. This place is a place I will come back to. Thanks guys great work!

A very decent pick for some quick grab-and-go BBQ. They really highlight the«fast» in this fast casual setting – and I mean that in a good way. They were able to prep my 3 meat plate(brisket, Polish style kielbasa, jalapeño cheddar kielbasa with beans, mac & cheese, and fries [extra side]) in under 2 minutes when there was no line. Though a bit pricier than I’d have hoped, the food was better than expected. Though the meat portions seemed small at first, it managed to satisfy my appetite(but still nothing to write home about). The freshly chopped meats and the beans were well-prepared. The same can be said about the BBQ sauces, which were available in self-serve warmer/vats in original, sweet, and spicy varieties. Feel free to ladle in as little or as much as your heart desires. One particular highlight was the mac & cheese, which passed with flying colors in my book. And lastly, the free soft serve«ice cream» wasn’t great as it more of a frozen dessert given that it was very light on the flavor. I can’t complain about something that was free, but keep in mind that the«free ice cream» didn’t really add much to the experience. One other nitpick was the dining room. Though very clean, it was tiny and cramped. It was very tough to make use of the drink/BBQ sauce/ice cream stations in the back if there are others already over there.

I was very disappointed with this place. The amount of food you get for the price is poor, and the barbecue itself is not memorable. I think the 3 meat combo I got was $ 13.95 and came with about 3 or 4 bites worth of three different meats, with two small sides, a bread, a few pickles, and a few raw white onion slivers. On the positive side though, the sweet BBQ sauce was pretty good. There is also a help yourself soft serve ice cream machine that is nice to have. Also, the inside was pretty clean. I also recall the teenager guy working behind the counter was a douchebag. The lady working the counter was pleasant though.

This is my first review. Im not much of a blogger or anything, so Im gonna keep this short and sweet. I decided to try Dickies today as I was on my way home. I ordered the 3 meat plate(ribs, pulled pork, and beef brisket) along with mac n cheese and baked potato casserole. Delicious. Meat was juicy and tender. Good flavor. Ribs were about 2″ thick. Meaty and flavorful as well. Sides were very good as well. They have various bbq sauces for you to use. Spicy bbq was my favorite. It had crushed peppers in the sauce. Hot, but not too hot. And, for dessert– free ice cream. Yes free. Im not one for ice cream usually, but screw it. Im in, lol. Good food, good ambiance, and good service. Definitely coming back.

We were out shopping st Babies R Us and when we came out and noticed this amazing smokey, barbecue smell. I told my wife it was coming from Dickey’s. She asked how I knew and I told her that I looked them up during Super Bowl Sunday when Lucille’s wasn’t taking anymore to go orders. I never used them as my father in law just waited the hour and a half at Lucille’s… So we follow our noses on a hot and humid Satuday night in September and we entered into an even hotter and more humid restaurant. The smokey smell was unbelievable and the big rush came after we ordered. The meat was cut to order and the sides scooped up fresh. The baked potato casserole had the inside of a baked potato covered in shredded cheese and green onions. The green beans were tasty with the right amount of bacon, the BBQ beans had the same semi sweet and vinegary sauce that comes on the ribs, and the Mac and cheese was definitely not from a box. Any review that starts out with the sides speaks volumes about the meats… While the ribs weren’t dry, they were lightly covered in sauce. The focus is on the smoked meat rather than the barbecue. The brisket was lardy, meaning that the fat was starting to harden due to the meat getting cold. The ham was also cold. If the meats were warm and had a decent amount of sauce, then this place would be at least 4 stars. I definitely wonder about the amount of sweat that might be falling in to the meat given the excessive amount of heat and humidity in the store. As an alternative to Lucille’s, it definitely is less expensive and without the wait. For a simple take home barbecue or quick picnic box, this is a decent option. But keep your expectations low and this place will really shine…

1st time here. I can see how this place keeps getting compared to Lucille’s, However, this is set up like a Subway. This feels more like a «to go» place than a dine in & have a server come to you type of place. In the line to order there is a wall of glass to cover almost like a sneeze guard between the customer & the food. But The glass was different here than lets say subway or chipotle. Here i felt like the glass was so high, like a wall, that i couldn’t hear the employee talking to me so i naturally stood on my toes to speak over the glass. Kind of a nuisance. It should have been maybe lower or w a shelf on top. Customer service from the employees: meh… so, so. Scale of 1 – 10.(1= I hate my job, 10=wow they enjoy their job) id say a solid 5. Here is WHY: As a new customer at this establishment i didn’t know what i would walk into. Automatically, it felt like how you order at Subway. Not how you order at Chipotle though. From when a customer walks in, there is no point where you can stand back & read the menu. I have to go to the order line to look at the menu. 1st thing u have to order is the meat & we’re getting rushed by the meat server & as i «uuummm’d» my choice of side, the employee(trying to rush me as tho he’s in a hurry to get to the person behind me who also doesn’t know what to order yet) interrupts me & tells me not to worry about the side, that goes next right now they do the meat… Meanwhile my mind is still at the door. when i asked for BBQ sauce(since our order is to go) the cashier looked at me as tho I’m stupid or maybe he was annoyed but regardless thats retail. leave your attitude at home. he just said its on the side w a straight faced, dumb founded look on his face. The assembly line setup is too much chaos on customers. Even on our way to the utensils. It was also Sunday so maybe its a busier day. They had a free self serve cone machine. That was cool. Overall: the food quantity vs quality were good for the price, considering we ordered the most expensive plate on the menu. Now you can also order by the pound as well. Our«To Go» portions were well packed. Here is what we ordered, followed by the pro’s & con’s: Rib Plate — $ 13.95 Comes with 2 sides. The ribs were a good portion & very flavorful. i had maybe 2 ribs w too much fat, but thats okay since thats where all the flavor comes from. The meat practically fell off the bone, in a tasty, yummy, delicious way! *Potato Salad– tasted like potatoes &SOURCREAM. i will never order it again. Tastes nothing like potato salad should taste like. *Mac & Cheese– Yum! Yum! & more Yum! 3 Meat Plate– $ 12.95 Here you can choose from 3 diff meats but we decided to double up on the same meat. 2 Brisket, 1 Pulled Pork. Personally, when i tasted the meat individually it was just«ok» BUT when i mixed these 2 meats together, it was an ORGASM in my mouth! Barbecue Beans– they’re good, but easily comparable to the canned Van Camps Pork & Beans. Creamy Coleslaw– now if you’re a coleslaw lover, you’re prob used to the coleslaw strips & this«Creamy Coleslaw» is better described as diced. Still good & would order again.

I finally made it to Dicky’s last night. It had been Unilocal bookmarked for quite some time, and I learned of them opening, since my elementary school, friend’s brother, was the owner(via Facebook). It’s located in a wonderful strip mall, so parking could be tricky, based on other store properties. Then again, you may want the extra exercise after! My date and I, dined for dinner on a Tuesday night. They have indoor and outdoor seating, although limited. I did see they sold a handful of beers, which I assume are only for inside the premises. The menu showed several options, that weren’t too expansive and tricky to choose from. These included meats and sides, salads, sandwiches, and more. I opted for the 2-meat plate and decided on the beef brisket and honey bbq ham(if I recall the exact name). My sides were the green beans with bacon and mac and cheese. The price came to $ 12.95, without a drink. However, it also included thee most delicious buttered roll, pickle and onion slices, plus you get free ice cream to round it off, come dessert time. The meat, at first, seemed to be low in quantity. However, at first bite, I was in Heaven. The temperature and quality, were now worth the price. The sides were also great, and the meal was satisying for me, without feeling hungry after, or overstuffed. In reading some other reviews, I’m surprised. Too say the meat was too dry, is silly. A business that added sauce to begin with, would receive a complaint of it being too moist. I liked the natural flavor myself, and then the option to choose between a sweet, mild, and spicy BBQ sauce, at the condiment counter. Other reviews mention poor customer service. While the servers weren’t as enthusiastic as my Leo, outgoing self, they weren’t rude or standoffish either. Further notes include store cleanliness, tvs and a nice industrial décor, and a happy customer, who will return again soon! Last, my date ordered the pulled pork, cheese jalapeño sausage, and brisket, with mashed potatoes and spicy bbq beans. Again, spot on, and we agreed the beef brisket and pulled pork, were the top faves!

Ordered the following: Sliced Brisket Quarter Plate: $ 9.95 Meat Plate(2): $ 25.90 Half Rack Ribs: $ 13.95 Definitely have officially moved up to my Top 3 Worst Customer Service at a restaurant. We ordered take out and they end up not giving us our order of half rack ribs. Called the store and they said you have to pick it up by tonight or we lose our money and won’t credit us the amount even after we ordered $ 50+ worth of food. They shouldn’t expect someone to come back for their food after purposely ordering takeout to save time. Who says that to a customer and in such a rude tone?! Then after requesting to speak to the manager, same thing and worse. Absolutely ridiculous — ripping us off of $ 13+. Would rather go to Lucille’s down the street or Leadbelly for better food and customer service — the food was also burnt and overcooked. So all that money spent — not worth it for bad food and bad service.

Time for an updated review gang. I’ve been back to this location a half dozen times since my original review. I’ve got to tell you for the price this is solid BBQ. I stand behind my 5 star review without any reservations. My office is over 10 miles away and I’ve got my coworkers now coming here at least 3 times a month for lunch. Usually when I’m out at meeting. They like to rub in that I missed it. Bastards I introduced them to this place. The place is catching on. I’ve noticed it’s getting it’s due respect as the crowds are noticeable larger at the lunch hour each time I stop I’m. My go to meal for lunch is currently the Westerner sandwich with brisket and polish sausage OMG. My sides are the mac and cheese and the onion rings. I have only recently tried the Dickey’s onion rings. Let me tell you they are awesome. They are thin cut, breaded and fried perfectly. Kind of remind me of those French onions that are added to casseroles but fresh and hot. I have a coworker who swears by the ribs and another that favors the Baker, a baked potato piled high with BBQ goodness. But I’m a brisket man. Another big plus is the free soft serve ice cream machine. The perfect ending to an awesome meal.
