Great food, and great people! Stopped by there for a breakfast burrito, ended up walking out with a dozen nutella donuts. Now that’s how to start the day! The burrito was solid — love that they toast it after wrapping and put the pico inside. Could use a little more bacon and a little lower price to be a 5 star, but I’m really nitpicking at this point. The fresh donuts are where it’s at. I don’t like donuts. I rarely ever eat them even when coworkers bring in a box fresh from whatever bakery is on their way. And yet these little golden rings of heaven are the best thing ever. Got mine without sugar and a side of nutella, and probably could’ve eaten two dozen and not felt guilty. My reaction was so over the top that even my vegan girlfriend tried some! Anyway — don’t try the donuts if you’re on any kind of diet, it won’t go over well, but it’ll be well worth it!

Delicious hot beverages, super nice staff, and the tiniest little packages of heaven you could ever imagine(freshly fried and sugared donuts). They gave us some free donuts to enjoy on our ride home. Limited seating wasn’t a problem because we ordered everything to go.

THISPLACE. Breakfast Burritos to melt your face off(the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had) and hot little donuts which are almost to good to describe. But I will try… These little donut wonders come from batter that pops out of a funnel — onto a long river of frying oil. The tiny guys take a float down the frying track — they get a flip to brown the other side midway — all while being carefully minded to ensure optimal cooking and yumminess by one of the lovely staff — and then finally are flipped out of the«river» into a pan where they are either powdered sugar or cinnamon dusted. OMG. We couldn’t get enough. They were so delicious! Also Kava had almond milk for coffee which no one ever has — which was very nice. We went and had breakfast there two days in a row! LOL :)

This has to be hands down my favorite coffee shop in Breckenridge. Not only is everything they make delicious from coffee, to breakfast sandwiches to their fresh mini donuts… but it is ran by the most awesome family. They always go above and beyond, and add immensely to the experience. Perfect place for before hitting the slopes, or if you just need a morning coffee. I would highly recommend Kava to anyone!

The donuts are awesome! They just melt in your mouth and surprisingly they’re not too sweet. Also had one of the breakfast burritos. That thing is HUGE, so we split it between three of us. I thought it was okay, not the best. It was pretty pricy too.

Only tried the donuts. Great atmosphere and super friend employees. The shop was also really clean. Everyone says great things about the coffee. Im excited to try it later. The reason i gave 4 stars was because the donuts where more like a funnel cake than a traditional donut. It was a little deceiving still delicious but deceiving. Definitely worth a try!

We went on a Thursday morning after Labor Day and they were out of batter«from the big weekend»(4 days ago??). Just close if you’re a donut shop out of donuts.

Located on the main drag of this mountain town, with what could easily be a historic structure of rustic wood siding and a corrugated metal roof, one might expect to meet gold miners gathering provisions more often than folks seeking a mountain-style Café Du Monde experience. The breakfast bagel with bacon was delicious, though there is a significantly more important ingredient in the fare. They serve everything with love. If you want a helping of hospitality along with your donuts and dirty chai, stop by the Kava Café.

Finishing my review from 2013. People are really nice. Coffee is terrible and not much seating.

This place is awesome. Every time I bring people up to Breckenridge I make sure to stop at this place an get the best mini donuts ever. They have been very friendly each an every time I have walked in. Thank you! Looking forward to my trip back up there in two weeks to get more of the donuts. Larry was great. Made my friends feel welcome an leave with a big smile(two bags of donuts). This is a must if you are going to be in the Breckenridge area.

This is a cute little café in Breck that sells coffees, hot chocolate, and mini donuts. As you walk in, on the left side there are a couple tables pushed against the side wall on the way to the bathroom. On the right side, there is a cashier and a mini donut machine where they make your donuts fresh as you order them. I’ve tried a couple of their drinks and didn’t feel they were anything memorable, but what keeps me coming back are their mini donuts. You can order them with cinnamon sugar, or powder sugar, both tastes amazing. They are small enough to eat in a bite or 2, and not too sweet. They are also slightly crispy on the outside and soft in the center which makes them taste like they just melt in your mouth. I was lucky to have found this place because a friend who randomly found the place recommended it to us. Now, every time I’m in Breck with some extra time to spare, I always try to stop this shop and at least pick up a dozen of mini donuts.

What a little gem tucked away in Breck. My friend and I were waiting for our shuttle to come get us so we needed to get somewhere quick to get in and out. We spotted Kava and were delighted by their selection of donuts and bagels. These donuts tasted like funnel cake melting in your mouth instantly. We split two bagels: egg and smoked salmon. Both delicious and everything out in under 5 minutes. Cute, cozy and friendly staff – what more can you want in a little mountain café. *The only thing is this is more of a place to get stuff to go, very limited seating. *

I love mini donuts as much as the next guy, and this place does them well(not that I’ve ever had a bad mini donut), but $ 5.00 for a dozen silver dollar donuts? Especially when I can get full sized donuts down the road at daylight for 80 cents apiece? I just don’t see it… Looking at the entire menu, it just felt like everything is 30% more expensive than it should be. Maybe pretty typical for Breckenridge. But like I say, the donut prices just don’t make sense compared to the competition.

Took the gondola into town and saw a sign for fresh donuts and free samples, say no more. Ordered a dozen mini donuts in cinnamon sugar and they were outstanding. Got a latte which was great and a couple flavored coffees for the ladies which were a tad sweet for them. The staff was awesome to top it all off. Will be back several times on our visit.

Close walk to gondola. If you can find parking behind Kava, great place to park. We ate here twice during our ski trip. First of all… the donuts. I will fly back to breck just for those donuts. They were like little balls of heaven… similar to a funnel cake, but way better. I also had the breakfast burrito. It was pretty good. very hardy. Great meal before hitting the slopes. The place is really small. so if there is a crowd, maybe walk down the block and come back.

When we first entered it was nice — we were told that they had sample mini donuts on the counter if we wanted to try any. And of course we did. They were light, fluffy, perfect consistency, not too sweet, a little chewy, pretty good! I got a blueberry muffin which was wet and greasy, a bit of a disappointment. The guys got breakfast burritos which looked pretty tasty but it was SUPER expensive ~$ 10+ for not a huge burrito. The kicker was when one of us accidentally took a cup not intended for their free water to get water. Without warning we were told to pay $ 1.09 for the cup — steep, very steep for a paper cup. Yes, we weren’t happy, but had the owner’s reaction been«Sorry, it’s just how it’s gotta be» we would’ve just paid for it and learned from it. But the reaction was pretty insulting, suggesting that we did not have any business logic or knowledge. Completely unnecessary and combattive. I would’ve come back gladly since it’s a cute, super small place, but don’t think I’ll be visiting again to patronize this place with the high prices and the angry service.
