Chipotle on steroids! Wanna eat healthy? Wanna eat organic? Need to go gluten free? Welcome to Lucha Cantina! I had the guacamole and chips to start off. Might I add it was freshly made? The main entrée was some healthy grown chicken tacos and shredded grass fed beef. Look no more…

Delicious. Just look at the pics. Fresh food, nothing’s frozen. Farmers market produce used for the veggie burrito. Get the verde sauce and matador for sure!

Ok food, terrible service. So many great options in town(way more in Vail) don’t waste your time here. The burger place down the street was 100 times better and the servers actually wanted to serve. And be careful of the outside chairs, one broke with an 8 year old in it. That waitress(not ours) at least tried to help out. Sorry the experience did not live up to the previous reviews.

We walked in and the only friendly face I saw was the guy at the bar that gave me a nod when a couple min after a waitress from behind the prep area yelled just sit wherever. We proceeded to sit up next to another party where we waited 10 min when we finally decided to ask the waitress(Bridget) for some menus to begin to order and she threw them at us. Unbelievably rude. We stood up and walked out only to notice the party that came in after us had already received drinks and chips. Thank God for the rude miss Bridget though because after reading the reviews of mediocre food and horrible service as well as the poor respect for hygiene, we walked across the street to Mi Casa Mexican restaurant. Please save yourself the embarrassment of walking into Lucha which is disgustingly old bare and needs to pay their light bill as it was cold and dark. Just walk a few more feet to the Mi Casa cantina and you get the real Mexican experience with excellent service and excellent food.

We started out with the salsa sampler, which was interesting, but the flavors were not all that unique or impressive. The queso dip was delicious and definitely made with real cheese. I went with the chicken and spinach enchiladas, which were different and pretty good but nothing I’d return for. The worst part was probably how the only rice option was what appeared to be completely unseasoned brown rice… odd for a Mexican joint. The service was friendly but incredibly slow and inattentive.

Okay, so I’m a huge foodie person, and was very very saddened by my experience at this restaurant. It all started with a «Last Night in Breckenridge Dinner» on Sunday(12⁄29) with my fam(4 people). I originally wanted a buffalo burger, but the nearby restaurants had a 30 minute wait. To my delightful surprise Lucha Cantina was open and had seating available. The Unilocal reviews were fantastic and what I was looking for to fill my burger void. We eagerly sat down at the table next to the bar and waited… and waited… and waited… and waited for at least 30 minutes until we were somewhat acknowledged by the waitress. We even got up to get our own drinks from the fountain! The waitress had the audacity to help the people that came in after us… uh ooookay. When I informed her that we were there first she motioned over to the guy at the bar and said he might be able to help us… uh ooookay. Never the less, I was hopeful and wanted good food and saw the Unilocal reviews on this place and STILL wanted to give this place a shot. I convinced my family to stay and I went up to the guy at the bar(really really nice guy who wasn’t even working that night) to ask him if we could place our order with him. He said, «sure» and apologized for the delay. So, we eagerly placed our order with him and within minutes received the much coveted chips and queso. We were so hungry as this tasted good and we were chowing down on the chips and queso until… until…until…we saw something that resembled an eyelash hair(the teens thought it looked like a pubic hair)…OMG so gross! Never the less, I tried to make light of the situation and scooped out the hair and even took a bite from what was left. My family gagged as I ate that last chip with queso. Then… eventually, I gagged realizing what I’d done. After about another 5 minute wait we received our food. Ummmmm… well, I hate to say it, but it was… okay. Portions were good sized though. We had enchiladas, tacos, and burritos. The basic Mexican faire one would eat at a Mexican restaurant. After a few bites of my enchilada I realized that we should have stayed at our condo. I would’ve made better tasting Mexican food, but I didn’t want to cook and I really wanted a burger… my bad! I’ll go somewhere with crappy service as long as the food is good, but unfortunately this place didn’t cut it on the overall service, food taste, and food quality. Never the less, I’m giving it two stars because our waiter(who wasn’t even on the clock) was super cool, extremely apologetic, and even gave us a discount on our bill. He was worth the two stars. Also, I could tell everyone in the restaurant was working hard(even the waitress that passed us up)…even the guys that weren’t supposed to be working were working, or if they were eating… they got up to help deliver food and bus the tables! The cook was yelling for someone to pick up the food and deliver it otherwise he was going to throw it away and will have to recook everything. So, I’m giving this place two stars, and gave our waiter a good tip. The patrons of the poor waitress that passed us up ditched their table of food, and put down only $ 10.00. Poor gal looked like she was going to lose it… c’est la vie.

It is so hard to find reasonably priced food in Breckenridge that isn’t just sub-par and this is where Lucha succeeds. Which is why I, as a local, come here frequently. Everything is super fresh and made right there behind the bar, like the delicious queso and oh man, the salsas. I’ve only been brave enough to venture up to the Matador Red, but each one I’ve tried is so flavorful! My favorite is the Fresca, it has just enough bite for me and you can taste the fresh unexpected ingredients like cucumbers. The burritos are excellent huge and excellent! You can put whatever you want in there(which I love) and try it smothered in queso. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Or give the Luchitas a try, a soft taco shell, spread with queso with a hard taco shell inside? Such a unique treat! And the fish tacos. I had these recently for the first time and cannot wait to have them again. The sauce they put on them, some sort of cilantro sauce, is sooo good! Homemade margs… Can’t go wrong there. So go try this place and relax for a while in their cool atmosphere. Have a delicious drink, and enjoy some awesome food.

Party of 4 what do we think? Real good Mexican food. Best Mexican food I have had that isn’t drenched in unhealthy grease. Ask if I’d go back? I’d say yes sign me up for another good Mexican meal that doesn’t leave me feeling slow and sluggish. That’s if I don’t eat the whole meal, serving sizes are large. Ate half my burrito for dinner and my brother stole the other half from me for lunch the next day. Drinks please!!! A pitcher of margarita was real good. However if you are use to your typical margarita with mix this is NOT. Margarita’s are made with real juice which I enjoyed. Thanks Lucha Colorado Cantina. Maybe I’ll be back next year if I come back to Breck for vacation.

Located on southeast side of Main St on the bottom level of a outdoor shopping strip. Homemade Margaritas and tacos for $ 3 during happy hour I think it was 2−6pm. Different Salsas were also home made, everything from chips burritos were amazing. Great value especially in Breck. Had to admire the 3 pound burrito but did not have the personal courage to order it.

Such a disappointment. Service so bad we bailed despite starving! I don’t do reviews often. I read all the reviews befor going here. It was touted as «freshest» and«natural». Restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived. Got a seat on the patio and ordered 2 of the«natural margaritas» which are supposed to be Tequila, lime, Agave, and 2 waters. The margaritas came out(in pint glasses not proper margarita glasses) and they were carbonated! Tasted like 7up! AWEFUL! Our server said he would be right back to take our order(and we hoped with our water too). We we distracted with conversion when we realized 25 minutes had passed and not one sign of our server. No chips/salsa to snack on nothing! We paid our $ 20 tab and bailed. A 5 min walk later and we had chips, salsa, proper margs and food just down main streer.

If you like fresh Mexican food– the flavorful kind with tons of fresh food that isn’t just cheese and grease then this is your new favorite place. Rave Unilocal led us here today and boy are we glad. Their guac is so fresh and good, and their salsas are really flavorful and creative. The one with tomatillos and cucumbers was so different and addictive. It was like nothing I’ve ever tried. Our veggie bowl wasn’t the standard pepper and onion mix, it was packed with beets, cauliflower, even sweet potatoes. It’s not the typical mail-in for a veggie option, it’s a substantial delicious meal. Their GM was great. He talked to us about their menu and how they’re veggie and vegan friendly. It’s a place that really wants you to love their food and will do what they can to make you happy.

We recently put in a huge to-go order with 60 tacos, salsas a plenty, rice and beans galore, a box of tortilla chips(which we are still piling through), queso, and guacamole. Matt accomodated our request, even in the dead season, and the pricing was very reasonable – roughly $ 7 a head. They whipped up fresh guacamole and warmed up the queso on the stove, as the microwave is not a welcome piece of kitchen equipment in this here establishment, at least from what I hear. Unfortunately, the variety does not rice up to the occasion – that indeed was a pun. Only brown rice is offered, so don’t expect the typical cilantro-lime or Mexican-spiced varieties. Additionally they only offer flour tortillas in the soft realm, so for those gluten-free folks(which I assume there would be a lot of in this neck of the woods!), be careful. I do appreciate that this joint simply knows what it wants to serve. I will say that we found mold on multiple tortillas(say that 10 times fast). Salsas definitely make the meal here, as they have multiple types, green and creamy, red and smoky, you name it. On the whole, the grub here sits well, and you will definitely get your Tex-Mex jonesing fixed up here.

A great menu and fresh ingredients that can be customized any way you want. Choose tacos, burritos, gorditas, and my favourite… the bowl… which comes with tortilla chips on the side. Great selection of veggies for free and plenty of additional add ons with cheese, guacamole, sour cream, etc. The salsa and meat are not very spicy, but the ingredients are very fresh. Laid back, cheap, and full of fresh veggies

Wow. Unilocalers led me awry on this one. So wrong that I had to give this place a one star for everything myself and my man ate. So overall review: Everything was bland, as in no flavor, as in it just felt like we were eating filling. Now, on to the details. We started off with guac and chips. The worst guacamole ever. It didn’t taste like guac, it had no flavor, it tasted similar to the the guac I bought in a container at Stop & Ship once. Yikes. They charged me and provided me with 2 samplings of salsa(they range from 1 being mild to 9 being hot). We went with I believe the 5 and 7. The 7 definitely having kick and the 5 being a nice amount of heat. Again, they had no flavor, just heat. I went with the shredded beef burrito, and added a few dollars extra on it for the spinach tortilla. I mean I ate part of it but, it was seriously one of the worst specimens of Mexican Food I have tasted. The shredded beef was super dry mixed with the bland sour cream, beans and rice, it was just mush with no Mexican. Meh. The man had a chicken quesadilla. We both took a few bites and then bounced. Our $ 9 burritos were sad and not good. Were these $ 9 burritos ginormous? Yes. They were, if they were delicious, this may have been a 5 star contender. But alas, they weren’t. Now the service was decent, so that was ok. On a side note we knew this place wasn’t gonna be all that when the«chef» came out, he had to be a 17 year old gringo high schooler making some extra cash during his summer break. Good for him! Bad for my stomach when all I was wanting was some authentic Mexican!

Wow, what a find in Breck! I ate here three times in 5 days. One of the cheapest places in town, with a very simple Mexican menu. Happy hour is amazing, $ 1 tacos and $ 2 Tecates. The food is very good and made specifically to your order. The ground turkey is very peppery, but the fish is the best. They have several different salsas; the yogurt sauce is the best. Sit on the patio if weather permits. The bar is next to the open kitchen, and can get warm. The patio has a great view. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly. This place fires on all cylinders!

Burritos are huge. Portions are generous. Margaritas are delicious w/o all that sweet n sour bs. They use fresh lime juice! Happy hour is great for both drinks and food. Server seemed a bit cranky but after I bought her a shot she seemed to lighten up. Overall I was super pleased with this place and would totally come back! It’s very dive-y with a chill atmosphere.

This place is absolutely awesome. I’ve been here twice now and have been very impressed with the freshness and quality of my food. I’ve had the shredded beef, chicken, pork and, mahi mahi on quesadillas and tacos. Every meat has been flavorful and delicious, especially the pork and beef. Their queso dip is delicious and unique. Can’t pass it up. I also love their selection of fresh salsas. You can’t go wrong with any of them. I preferably enjoy the spicier ones. They make excellent margaritas and take pride in the fact they only use fresh juices. You can definitely tell the difference. My only complaint is that their chips are extremely salty. However, I have a difficult time docking them for this since we still manage to go through several baskets of them. Also, the guacamole isn’t the best I’ve ever had. It could use a little more flavor and spice. This I have to dock them on since guacamole is an intrinsic part of my Mexican experience. All and all, a wonderful Mexican option. The atmosphere is so chill and the servers are friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place after you hit the slopes if you want some fresh, excellent Mexican.

Food was good, but I wasn’t blown away. Service was good. Our server seemed to be ADD and talked way too fast I felt rushed to order. Menu was a bit confusing but fun looking. The place and service was laid back and interesting. Solid three stars going on four if service would have been a little better, but since the place was not a five star restaurant I didn’t expect the best. Food was good enough, I could come back to see if desserts are available next time. We ordered the salsa platter(cilantro sauce was missing :-(), I had the burrito bowl -. I ordered no cheese and sweet potato in my bowl, and found the cheese melted on top and no sweet potato. Whatever, I’m not allergic or anything so I sucked it up and ate it. It wasn’t bad but my server was in her little world so she didn’t really pay attention to what we were saying I guess. My husband had the mahi mahi burrito and he really liked it. Overall, good food but wished service was a tad better. I don’t think she meant to ignore our requests, she was friendly enough — I just think she was ADD. Oh well, not bad!

It’s a bit of a wait for them to make burritos but it’s to be expected when there’s only 2 guys working and they grill up the meat after you order. now that’s fresh! I was really impressed with their selection. I had a burrito in a spinach tortilla(LOVE this option). I added chicken, spinach, cheese, sour cream… it was very delicious. The chicken wasn’t dry and were cut in big chunks. It took about half an hour to make 5 burritos for me and my friends to go. It took longer than expected(we almost missed our flight!) It was our fault anyway but the guys working there were super nice and even apologized even though it was pretty much our fault for being late… LOVE how they grill up the tortilla after they wrap it. It gives the tortilla a nice crisp when you eat it. first learned about this place because we landed in CO late and my friend was desperately hungry. it’s really nice that they’re open late.
