When we visited this restaurant earlier today, most of the employees were undergoing a training, so only a few employees were available to serve customers. Our waitress was running around trying to serve several tables at once. Our food came out quickly. The pot roast was a little greasy. The cheddar potato soup was more like thick cheesy potatoes than soup because it had no broth. The hamburger tasted fine and was nothing special. The problem that we had was with the bill. We ended up being charged for a different, larger table of customers. I believe that the waitress gave us the correct bill originally. But then the seating hostess came by to put a second bill on our table.(The seating hostess had taken our drink order earlier, and I guess that she was trying to help out the busy waitress by also bringing us a bill.) We told the seating hostess that we already had received a bill, so she confusedly took one of the bills away. We then took the bill to the cashier to ring us up. Somewhere in there among the three employees, they charged us for another, larger table’s food. I will have to remember to not come here again.

This place was a great choice for breakfast today. My hubby is a truck driver, and we didn’t feel like eating in the restaurant at the TA because of bad experiences at truck stop restaurants in the past. It was fairly busy, but today is mother’s Day, so it’s to be expected. Upon walking in, I felt like I walked into a Cracker Barrel. There’s a cute little gift shop right before you walk in the restaurant. We were seated fairly quickly for how busy it was and got our coffees in a timely manner. It took a few minutes for the waitress to take our orders, but she was friendly and quick to make sure we got our food. You can always tell how well a restaurant is managed by going in during their busiest of times. The only complaint I have is with the lack cheese in their omelettes. Other than that, everything had great flavor and was nice and hot.

This is the only bad experience I have ever had at a Bob Evans. I ordered steak and eggs(it was 9pm btw) medium. The steak I got was red raw in the center and they quickly tried again. Next steak was just as bad, so I finished the eggs and toast. The manager cooked another steak himself; alas it too was red raw in the center. I give them an A for effort; and they did not charge us for the steak but the quality was just not there. This restaurant uses too much margarine on their toast and potatoes too. Just not the quality we have cone to expect from this franchise.

Came in on a Sat night at 8:30pm. Many tables empty but we noticed about 7 tables needed cleaned when we arrived. I understand restaurants get busy, but it’s hard to understand when so many tables were empty. Our server made it apparent he was not in a mood to work, our meals came out sporadically and 2 of them came out as everyone else was finished. Meals came out cold, the kids mac n cheese looked old and came out in a side dish bowl(very small), and there were small details of every meal that was incorrect. The manager did rectify our epic fail and covered our check. It seems that if this is a popular place for travelers, staffing must increase. What if a bus load would have pulled in? The only nice thing about this place is a nice gift shop attached.

Pricy. Food wasn’t good. Slow service. We will never eat at a Bob Evans again. They weren’t even busy.

If I could give zero stars I would. We are Bob Evans loyal customers but the service at this restaurant is terrible. Staff not helpful. We waited at table while others around us had orders taken. Finally left without ordering breakfast. Very frustrating.

This Bob Evans is a common stop when my family and I drive out this way on various trips. It’s one of the only actual sit-down eateries in Breezewood. And since Breezewood is one of the only places in this area that isn’t too far out of the way from the interstate where you can stop at to get a meal, I’ve stopped here many times over the years. I admittedly always loved coming here when I was younger because the front of the place is a giant store filled with pretty decorations and cute toys that’ll have any kid begging their parents for it, pretty please. These days however I am way more interested in sitting and eating than I am in shopping in the makeshift country store; sometimes you can find a decent gift there but mostly it’s just full of trinkets, in my opinion. Food wise, Bob Evans is Bob Evans, and Bob Evans specializes in large portions of comfort/American dishes. Every once in a while they’ll serve something unique that’s hard to find elsewhere — a few years back they even served fried green tomatoes, which I was very happy about. Normally though Bob Evans’ menu is pretty standard for the type of restaurant that they are — meaning that half of the food is fried, 90% of it is covered in butter, and it all tastes good even though you know it’s just not good for you. Normally when eating here I’d ask a family member to please split something with me, there’s no way I can eat a whole plate of rich and often high-fat food. During my most recent stop, though, I was surprised to find that Bob Evans now offers lunch combos. Yep: you can now get half of those amazing sandwiches that come on buttered toast, and you can get some soup or salad on the side. I ended up getting a turkey bacon melt with a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Really, with those toppings on Bob Evans’ buttered toast, nothing was going to go wrong with that sandwich. The soup was admittedly not the tastiest bowl of chicken noodle soup out there, but man I love the enormous noodles that they serve with it. I also sampled their pot roast sandwich and found it to be the very definition of tasty comfort food — it fits right in at Bob Evans. I will continue to recommend this place as your best bet for a decent meal in Breezewood. In the years that my family and I have stopped here the service has never been terrible, just a little slow when the place is jam packed with travelers. I will, however, say that if the bathroom is in as terrible shape as it was during my last visit(no toilet paper anywhere, locks on the doors barely holding, no paper towels or soap — honestly I’m docking a star from my review specifically because of the condition of the bathroom), just leave. Seriously, there’s a Sheetz just down the road. Just go there. You’ll be happier for it!

Terrible staff. Waited forever to be seated then waited forever to order. Food took forever and it was cold. Extremely understaffed. Unimpressed to say the least. Worst bob Evans ever. Tasted much worse than any other bob Evans. Everyone at my table described food as «disgusting, inedible».

This was a Bob Evans that wants to be a Cracker Barrel. When you enter, you have to walk through a shop full of «country» themed décor, kids items and Steelers stuff. Service is pretty slow and we needed to track down our server more than once. The food is pretty typical for a Bob Evans. One thing that didn’t make sense is that they had decorative parsley on all the plates. My husband had biscuits and gravy and I had chicken fried steak. Neither were meals you would ever think worthy of a garnish. Overall, not a bad place to stop in Breezewood, but it will take more time than you might be willing to spend.

Looks like a Cracker Barrel. Food was good, typical Bob Evans. Nice servers and clean bathroom.

Terrible. Cold french fries, no specifically vegetarian choices at all(apart from that ground-breaking innovation called the grilled cheese sandwich), service abandoned us for break halfway through. I even heard people complaining about the air-conditioning not being cold enough. Our asking about vegetarian choices was met with amused bewilderment and smirks. This is Bob Evans — we get that. But come on. It’s not 1948, is it?

Not sure that management cares about customer service. My wife and I were traveling and we stop to get a quick dinner. We were seated at 6:30. Drink order was taken at 6:55. We order hot cakes and eggs(we thought this would be fast). At 7;30 we asked about our food. Waitress said they were very busy. The restaurant was half empty. At 7:50 she came with some of our food because it was ready, but the eggs would were not ready. As she is setting down the food, both of the containers of syrup ended up on my pants and ran down my leg into my shoe. The manager came over and offered napkins, I asked him for a wet rag, he offered me a wet rag that he was cleaning up the floor with. Manger told me that the meal was on the house. I was very upset since I had 3 more hours of driving and had wet, sticky pants. Very sorry we had stopped there. The waitress was very upset with our waiting, but the management of the restaurant should schedule more help for Friday evenings. I will not recommend this place to anyone, unless it is in the early morning, when it seems that the have more help in the kitchen.

My wife and I stopped here recently on a trip back from dropping our son off at college. We have been thru Breezewood many times and had concluded the Sheetz was becoming the only option– everything else seemed dirty and run down. We were pleasantly surprised– food was springily good– my wife’s salmon was not overcooked and her broccoli was crisp and fresh. My salad was fine. Service was attentive and place was very well maintained– it’s the place now for us in Breezewood.

One arrives in Breezewood, PA, just at about the right time for lunch. Bob Evans offers very American food for the traveler. A type of coffee shop, but nicer. This location was very clean and spacious. A nice place for a sit-down meal after a drive up from the Washington, DC region on I-70 or from Pittsburgh on I-76. I ordered a Pot Roast sandwich the first time we stopped here.(Pot Roast being a Bob Evans speciality.) It was served on toasted sourdough bread with a side of cole slaw and French fries. I also added a cup of Tomato Baisil soup as an appetizer. Very good! My wife ordered the Wildfire Chicken Salad. Stopping again on another trip, I tried the Wildfire BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. Also a cup of the thick Tomato Basil Soup that I now look forward to. This location is a Bob Evans General Store. There is also a sizeable gift shop in the front.(Nicer merchandise than at Cracker Barrel.) Definitely recommended. A good alternative to the numerous fast food offerings in Breezewood, Pennsylvania.

On the way to Philadelphia it was around time for dinner, and conveniently there was what I’d call a ‘commercial ghetto’ nearby the turnpike. In this valley of restaurants, gas stations, and convenience Bob Evans seemed like one of the better choices. I haven’t been to Bob Evans before, but is assume their menu is consistent with other chain restaurants. The meal I had was very good, for being part of the low calorie menu options there was a lot of flavour and the portions were of a reasonable size. The restaurant itself is clean and the staff were nice. Out of the area, this is probably on of the better options in my opinion, service is quick and the food is good.

This was my first time ever dinning at Bob Evans. We were on a road trip and stopped here for breakfast. I was surprised to see that the layout was similar to Cracker Barrel. I ordered the strawberry crepes and I loved them. I would order this again next time I come to Bob Evans, or I will try one of their lunch menu items. The prices are great. I am not sure of the quality of the food they serve but for the price you can’t ask for too much.

This is our second time here. I got the flounder and my wife got the chicken pot pie with biscuits. Everything was very good, and well seasoned. Service was fast, and it all tasted homemade. My flounder fish was $ 10.99, which was too much considering the pot pie was only $ 6. Other than the seemingly random pricing, I don’t have anything bad to say about this location. My wife even found something cute she liked in the little store area, but that’s definitely hit and miss for people.

I stopped here at dinner time on a recent trip. I prefer stopping for food in Breezewood rather than at one of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Service areas. Bob Evans appeared to be one of a very few choices for a table service restaurant. I had a dinner of grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The food was good, well-prepared, but nothing exciting. The waitress was pleasant and efficient. My food was served promptly without a long wait. Although I generally avoid Bob Evans restaurants elsewhere, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling through Breezewood at mealtime. The immediate alternatives regardless of the direction of travel are limited for many miles.

We stopped here for dinner on the return trip from the Pittsburgh marathon at the beginning of May 2012. We just needed a good basic meal to aid our recovery from a weekend of travel and racing. One thing that is a pet peeve of mine is dirty menus. I don’t mind pictures of the food, but, please, no samples on the menus. Our menus were spotless. That set the stage for the follow-on good experience. The store, the food, and service were all super. No deficiencies. Everything was as we expected it to be.
