Soup and salad stop halfway through a 6 hour drive and it was surprisingly above average. The staff were pretty annoying, young and stressed out but overall not bad for what it was.

I talked my husband into stopping here because I like the Denny’s I visit in the Detroit area. He aways felt«blah» about Denny’s but I told him that they have good food with a large selection. Well, he started teasing me 5 minutes into our meal. It was horrible, proving him right(this time). The lettuce mix in my salad was wilted/rotten, there was a dead spider in my soft drink and the restroom area smelled like a porta-potty. To top it off, the bickering, gossip and childish/boorish behavior that was going on between the waitstaff was ridiculous. These women all seemed to be angry at life, each other, customers, etc. If I owned this place, I would likely fire everyone(except our waitress, who seemed to not have been completely corrupted yet) and start over.

Never Again! We’ve been coming here for breakfast every year to go to the beach. This will be our final time here. I went with my parents, and I didn’t like my breakfast at all. My father ordered a Grand Slam and everything was cold and soggy. My mom ordered a «Moons over my hammy» sandwich and The Bread was soggy… my order was soggy as well. My dad could finish his meal, but my mom and I couldn’t. My mom and dad were watching other people come in, and those people got served before US! We had to wait over 20 minutes for our meal. Our waitress never came to check on us, and when she came over, we complained about our meals. Obviously, the waitress said that the food was sitting there for 15 minutes. They didn’t charge us for their meal, though. I don’t recommend this location for breakfast. Nope. Not coming here again. I’m sorry… just No.

This is a classic diner! Seating is available at the counter, in booths, or at regular tables. A good selection of items on the menu, and they come out perfect! Nothing real expensive on the menu, but then it’s a Denny’s. A nice break from running the turnpike and eating at travel plazas along the way.

This Denny’s is cast in the light of a 1950’s diner. The food is standard for Denny’s, which is to say that it’s virtues include being cheap and filling. The bathroom is reasonably clean and the parking lot is conveniently located to the on ramp for 70E. Possibly the best restaurant(?) in Breezewood, but I have not yet tried the Pizza Hut, which seems like the chief contender for the title. I would recommend eating at Sideling Hill, in Bedford, or Somerset instead if you can wait 45 minutes longer for dinner.

Coolest Denny’s ever, ’cause it’s got a back in the day diner look to it. There’s more faux chrome here than a vintage Mustang meet-up. The service is pretty much what you’d expect from a truck stop type of situation. Sounds about right, considering the blue-collar culture of this part of PA. The lady who was our server was very nice, albeit s-s-s-s-slow. And she wasn’t the most polished person in the world, but she got the job done.

When did Denny’s change their fries?!? Stopping off in Breezewood on our drive from DC to Pittsburgh, I popped in for an order of fries while the husband pumped gas next door. Much to my dismay, Denny’s changed their french fries into some horrible, dry waffley things that taste like absolutely nothing. What a shame they got rid of those yummy seasoned fries. No reason to ever stop here again. :(

Why am I reviewing a Denny’s? Well, this place stood out for a few reasons. First of all, if you don’t want one of those disgusting«Pizzeria Uno» places that are all along the western half of the PA turnpike, you pretty much have to stop at Breezewood, when traveling across the state. Its pretty much smack dab in the middle. And of all the places there, this Denny’s caught our eye, because of the retro diner look, different from any other Denny’s I’ve seen. It was done very well, metal and glass brick walls, red cushioned bar stools, old fashioned tiles, big booths, etc. And the food was fine, decent diner fare. I like a place that has 24 hour breakfast available. :) The family was all there, and I appreciated that the waitress was able to produce a sheet that had allergen information for all of the dishes for my son’s dairy and nut allergies. Unfortunately, he could not eat much there, including the chicken nuggets. But I give them kudos for having the information handy, and not seeming irked when we asked. Generally tidy and clean.
