This is the pub in the Holiday Inn. I went in here on a Friday evening. The DJ played my kind of music(classic rock). It was an excellent mix. How often does that happen? The bartenders were nothing special. I waited some time for my first drink. It appeared there was a lot on tap. I kept it simple with a local. Nothing special, but the atmosphere was fine and relaxing enough.

Don’t waste your time… As a Sam Adams bar you would think they would carry a good variety if not all Sam Adams on draft or bottle. I went here about a week ago and they had 4 beers to chose from on tap, 2 of which were out so I was left to chose between 2 Sam Adams beers on draft… The girls working as bartenders were friendly but the lady dressed differently I’m assuming was the manager was extremely rude to myself and other guests. She was was constantly complaining about how she needed a day off and had been working so much she felt like she was going to cry. pretty unprofessional. The manager seemed just out of it and I can understand if she had been working a long stretch but it just made her come across as rude. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere till they get there act together and actually have Sam Adams beers on tap.

…not impressed. Enough said. As a loyal fan of the Samuel Adams product, I feel their marketing department would be ashamed to have their brand associated with this eatery. Of the 9 – 12(i didnt count) beers on tap, 3 were Sam Adams. Regular. Summer. Cherry Wheat. You can get those drafts at a Texas Roadhouse or Applebee’s. Roll in a keg or 6 of the not-so-everyday! The food, just bar food… nothing to write home about. Cheesesteaks, burgers, wings, fried appetizers, etc. Better fare across the street at the Starlight Diner. Jim Koch, call me!

So I was really excited that there was a brew pub just down the street. Until I went there. The first time my husband and I went there was about two or three months ago. The heater must have broken in the place because it was freeeeezing. Couldn’t take my jacket off and be comfortable… and I am the type of person that is always warm. We walked in, went to get a table and decided(before we even sat down) that the place was too cold, so we went elsewhere. My friend had a Groupon for this place that she bought a couple of weeks ago, so we decided to go there tonight and check it out. I’m always up for giving a place another chance. We walked in, the temperature was comfortable this time, and sat at the bar. The bartender tonight was downright icy… as in not friendly. Right off the bat, she asked what we were having, even before we had time to think about it. I figured since it was a Sam Adams brewpub that they may have a few specialty beers on tap… eh, not so much. Only seven beers on tap… really? A brew pub with seven beers on tap? Hmmmmmm… bummer. We had a beer(still no menu offered or in sight) so we asked for a food menu, and it was plopped in front of us on the bar. At that point, we decided that we weren’t interested in staying. And THEN, my friend asks about the Groupon. For those of you familiar with Groupon, you know that any place that accepts a Groupon should be able to accept the code off the app… or the printed certificate. When We told the bartender that we had a Groupon, she had no idea what that was, and insisted that we needed to have the physical certificate, and said that it wasn’t good for beer or liquor. Clearly, this wasn’t her fault. Management should have told the staff about the Groupon and how it worked. Still really annoying though. SO after showing the bartender the terms of the Groupon(and yes, it was good for beer) and showing her that the Groupon should be accepted by writing down the code from the certificate, we ended up getting it sorted out. Just really didn’t seem to be worth the trouble. I don’t think I’ll be back here again.
