As of late, I’ve been really annoyed with the service. The lack thereof, and the quality and quantity of food has gone downhill, too much rice and not enough fish, dirty. It used to be a lot better. I am disappointed. I hate to complain, but this was one of my favorite spots to eat. Also, sometimes the staff is rude. Go to Jo: a, much better food and service for about the same price.

I love going to this sushi place. We are always treated very well and we never have to wait long for our sushi. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome. I always go here when im craving some sushi.

Pros: Good for non-traditional, crazy flavored makizushi. Cons: Overpriced, no(good) traditional options, bad nigiri, bad miso soup. I was so excited to get sushi, but this place left me very disappointed. Maybe I just got spoiled from eating proper sushi in Japan, but I’ll never return here. I was under the impression that this place was supposed to have good authentic sushi. I was looking forward to some nigiri, but what they served me was not traditional nigiri. The pieces were way too large, and it was completely flavorless. The only thing they got right was giving me wasabi and ginger, but I had to put the wasabi into the sushi myself… So before I could even eat my meal I had to use my chopsticks to cut each piece of nigiri in half and put wasabi between the fish and the rice. Adding insult to injury, everything was ridiculously expensive. $ 4.50 for two pieces of nigiri? Really? Their miso soup was also disappointing. It would have been good, but they had way too much salt in it. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that they have a lot of options for non-traditional makizushi. My friend ordered two different kinds from the back of the menu and she enjoyed her meal. So, I guess if you stick to the back of the menu and are not craving authentic sushi you might enjoy it.

I thought the sushi selection was magnificent! I am from Indiana, so I don’t get fresh sushi, and I was very pleased with my experience. The only thing I wish could be different is a little more welcoming atmosphere from the waitstaff. I felt a little uncomfortable since I didn’t know what I was doing with menu selection and they acted like I should know. However with that being said, food was top notch!

We recently phoned in an order to go and we were given about a 15 min time frame, which was perfect because that’s about how long it takes us to drive there. My husband went to pick up the order, and he called me to tell me that they somehow only had 2 of our 5 rolls that we ordered, even though she repeated all our rolls back to us. He was given a wait time of 30+ mins before they could get us the rest of our order. If we had been dining in that wouldn’t have been so bad but to have to stand around for 30+ mins is ridiculous. I figured they would have pushed our order to the front or at least given him a discount on the rolls they had ready. For them to not even acknowledge that a screw up like that ruined our dinner, left us hungry, and feeling like we got gypped is upsetting!

If I could give my review an extra half a star, I would, but I’ll round to the nearest rating of three stars. I came during happy around 3pm on a weekday, and there were probably only two other tables being served at the same time. The restaurant has a clean, hip feel to it, and they mainly played pop music. The menu has a wide range of choices! The happy hour menu was really inexpensive, so we went with one long roll(I think Mt. Rainier) and the combo tempura. They don’t have a full bar, so instead of ordering a well drink, we just got a soda. The food came out quickly, too. The food itself is very average(hence three stars). Trapper’s has a very, very American spin on sushi, so you’ll be pretty full from a roll(there’s a lot of tempura, spicy mayo, and extra toppings on their sushi choices). The combo tempura was served hot(yay!), but it was pretty oily and they paired it with a type of thicker teriyaki sauce rather than the traditional, thinner tempura dip. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend Trapper’s if you’re in Bremerton and need a quick sushi fix!

It was my first time here. Did the all you can eat lunch buffet and had the fried ice cream. Everything was delicious. Only bad thing was over 1hour wait.

Great service, great sushi! Very small restaurant. With how busy this place gets they definitely need a larger space.

This place was highly recommended to us, and since they offer AYCE sushi we decided to give it a try. We walked in and the server told us that AYCE is only available at the sushi bar, which kind of makes sense, but we had our 3-year-old and our 18month old with us and they only have bar seats(no backs). The waitress said to us, «he can sit in a high chair,» I looked at her, and then at the height of the bar, and I asked her where he would eat if he couldn’t reach the bar top and she stared at me blankly. My husband told her that it wasn’t going to work out so we would just have to order rolls at a table(boo honey, I really wanted that AYCE). The rolls were mediocre for the price. I think the worst part was the loud dance/rave music pumping out of the speakers, it didn’t really seem to fit the theme of the place, or maybe it was just too loud. Overall, I was bummed and I didn’t want to listen to dance party music while I was wallowing about not eating AYCE sushi. I guess I’m just a fatty.

Not a great experience. Atmosphere is more sports bar than sushi bar. Two vegetarian rolls had crab and salmon stuck to the outside(so, uh, not vegetarian). The food was average. The chefs are under trained and seem to have forgotten the«sushi is edible art» mantra. Honestly, I can’t recommend this place. I hope the whole Trappers chain is not like this. Disappointed in Bremerton.

Trappers is pretty average. I like their sushi, and have gone consistently. But, I do have poor customer service experiences constantly. If that is important to you as a customer, keep that in mind when dining here. Most recently I called in to ask if they take reservations(it says they do on Google) and an irritated sounding woman answered, and became frustrated when I asked — evidently they don’t take reservations. Which is fine, so I asked around what time service slows down so we could get a seat. The woman promptly said«Around seven. Ok, see you then.» And hung up. I work at a restaurant as a hostess and a waitress at a busy place in Seattle, and I know you are never too busy to properly end a phone call with a customer. So, we did not go to Trappers that night. Instead we chose Origami in Silverdale and still had a great meal. But, my review remains 3 stars because the food at Trappers is decent.

So sushi is something that I always stayed away from as I’m not a fan of raw meat. But for my first time trying sushi at Trappers was quite surprising. They offered more than just the regular rolls that I was used to seeing and the all you can eat definitely allowed me to try multiple rolls to figure out what I like and don’t like. Quick and easy with a fairly simple menu that doesn’t have too many options but just enough. The sushi was great, just well balanced and palatable. I’m no sushi expert so there’s not much else I can say but it was a great first experience. Even returned the next day for more… The teriyaki looks really good as well.

Just left Trappers Sushi in East Bremerton, completely irritated. We get there and are told it will be 25 minutes. I figured it’d be a bit of a wait since there were five in our party. No problem. Ten minutes in, there are three, four chaired, tables waiting to be cleaned. I figured the waitresses are filling drinks and taking empty sushi plates from dining customers. No problem. I’ll be patient. Then the waitresses start seating two smaller groups that came in AFTER us instead of cleaning off the tables. At this point we’ve been standing there for 25 minutes and I’m getting annoyed. There was clearly no concern to get our larger group seated. As we are continuing to wait, my friend’s six year old vomits. Frantic, I usher him outside away from the dining customers while my friend stays inside trying to get some help in cleaning up. She felt terrible! A super kind guy, who was also waiting to be seated, comes out with a glass of water and a hot towel to put on the little guy’s neck. After we got her son cleaned up, I took the cup and towel back inside and ask the waitress if we can get our order to go. She points me to the take out menus and informs me that the Monday special(3 rolls for $ 20) is dine in only. Had we have been seated in a timely manner, we would have had our orders placed well before this catastrophe happened! The other waitress and even the guys making the sushi told her to let us just take our order to go. She refused and said«if we let them do it, then we’ll have to let everyone». I have never been so disappointed in their customer service!!! The cherry on top is when my friend, after all this, tells this waitress she wants to pay for the good samaritan’s meal. The waitress’ response is «you don’t have to». My friend had to continue to insist to pay for this guy’s meal before the waitress would help her. After waiting for 35 minutes, when we could have been seated in 10, we were refused good customer service, and left without food.

Nope. Pretty expensive if it’s not happy hour to receive very little fish in your mediocre sushi. My boyfriend ordered a salmon roll and there was a very small millimeter of salmon in it, and then just a bunch of cream cheese. The chicken teriyaki was dry. The green tea and the miso soup were pretty good, but they’re good at every Japanese restaurant… Go to one of those.

Trappers in Bremerton was pretty awesome. I’m not a sushi eater but this place was worth a try. I ordered the«sounder“which is spicy crab, cream cheese & cucumber covered with salmon & avocado sauce and the«mariner» which is tempura shrimp, spicy crab, green onion & cucumber. I like both of my choices that I picked and most likely will order again. It’s not expensive and the menu has plenty of options. I give this place 4 fishes. I usually leave my reviews for food in this group.

I have been to Trapper’s a number of times and it’s about time I wrote a review. Once upon a time, I lived up the hill from this location. That was when I first discovered it. Are used to stop in for lunch, and I would do the AYCE(all you can eat) at the bar because it was simpler. And honestly, my bill came out about the same… It’s tons of fun to go in at lunchtime, bring your book, and just read and people watch a little bit. I don’t dine solo very often… This is one of my favorite places when I do, however. We have also done standard tableservice a number of times. Trappers is great for a quick, easy date night. The food is consistently tasty, and the service is good. I give four stars and not five because… First, they are quite often understaffed. And usually, the staff that is there is so focused on the all-you-can-eat bar that they let the tables go by the wayside. This also means that I usually have to wait quite some time before someone visits my table or asks me if I would like something to drink. I usually plan to be ready to order the first time my server visits the table, because I never really know how long it’s going to be before they come back. That said… The positive experiences that I’ve had here FAR outweighed any negative. That is why they get four out of five stars. We will continue to visit Trapper’s. This location is kind of small so there is usually a wait for both the dining room as well as the sushi bar.
