Planet Beach Spray & Spa

Love this place! Where else can you go for either 30 minutes or a couple hours out of your day and leave feeling great! Prices are competitive and multiple services to choose from. I love that I can tan or spa whenever I feel like it. Conventional spas cost hundreds of dollars for just one day. The hydration station leaves your skin feeling silky soft, which is great in the cold winter months when you really need the extra moisture. I like the slim capsule to detox, and can even get a facial. Tanning bed bulbs are maintained so I know I will always have a great glow. Other places I’ve gone to, never change the bulbs! I’ve never had any issues with the staff and the owner is always super helpful! Can’t recommend this place enough!

I used to be a member a few years back before I moved out of the area, now I’m back and wanted to see what changes they had made to the spa. I was welcomed by Taylor, very friendly and very educated about the products and had only worked there a few weeks. Let me tell you I have met my fair share of not so friendly girls that have worked there so it was definitely nice to speak to a very welcoming staff member. Basically I became a member again thanks to Taylor. Very personable and I love being able to come in and see her smiling face! Also the beds, spray tan and the new skinny capsule are all very cool! I’m taking advantage of my new membership!

Went here for the first time because I heard about their deal on Groupon. I went in to inquire about their Hydrodermafusion and their Slim pod. I believe her name is Raquel (sorry if I got it wrong) but she helped me a lot and was able to answer all my questions. She wasn’t trying to push the membership or products to me which was good! I felt really comfortable and by doing so I wanted to get their packages.
I tried the Hydrodermafusion which was complimentary since it was my first visit. It was nice, it felt like a concentrated steam room just for your body. I hear it works good right before you get a Mystic Tan. Overall I do recommend it.
The day after I did the Slim Pod and the Mystic Tan. Slim pod didn’t do much to me, maybe because it was my first time. However, it takes a lot for me to break a sweat. Going to finish my sessions and see if there’s a difference.
The Mystic Tan, I LOVE IT! I’m Filipino and I’m pretty dark already and was worried I would get super dark but NOT AT ALL! the mystic tan made my skin even toned. It gave me a very nice glow. I just love it! I will definitely go back here just for that!
My overall experience with their machines and their customer service is great!

The staff here is amazing always very friendly and helpful (although they’re always getting new employees). However, the owner Kevin is a different story. He always tries to sell you way more than what you’re interested in. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a complete sales pitch. He seems very scripted and I have had multiple people tell me that they have walked out of there and not purchased a membership when they had every intention of doing so because of how pushy he is on trying to over sell you. Also, he usually has only one staff member working at a time. Last year during summer the poor girls looked exhausted running up and down the halls trying to service each costumer. The spa SERVICES and staff are great here there’s just a few things that need adjustment.

I have been here for spray tans and to use the tanning beds. Both work well. The service is good and the place seems to be well kept. I took away one star because one time a staff member sent me to a room where the tanning bed hadn’t been cleaned from the previous person who had used it. She did apologize and put me in another room. Also, the tanning lotions and other items they sell there are a total rip off, go to Amazon for your tanning lotions and supplies.
One more thing… be careful with purchasing gift cards here. My husband bought me a gift card for Christmas (2 years ago), when I went to use it, the balance was 0!

Love this place! The manager Brandon is always so sweet. I look forward to seeing him when I come in. Service like that doesn’t exist anymore! Tanning beds are always clean and everything is so neat. I recommend this place over ANY other place to tan in Brentwood. Also love that they offer hydration, facials etc. which is included in my unlimited package. I own a salon in Oakley, and I recommend this place all the time.

I love this place! Mostly because Brendan the manager is so amazing. Super friendly and always remembers exactly who you are! Beds are well taken care of and I get great results. Prices are also reasonable.

I love Planet Beach! The staff is very friendly, and very welcoming. The Hydration Station has done wonders for my dry skin! The massage chair has been a big help for my back, hits all the right spots. This is my new place to relax.

So I bought a groupon for this place to get 9 services. I only used 6 and was not even interested in continuing. The staff is nice but the machines are eh. The massage bed hurts! Its jus a bar that moves up and down ur back. Horrible! The facial was ok but the solution you put on feels like it was burning my face. They told me I still had 3 more services to do but I jus said no. I would leave there and wouldn’t feel relieved ag all.

Anyone who knows me… or anyone who has read my reviews of Planet Tan and or Diamond Hills Sports Club and Spa… knows that I am naturally fair skinned. That without a spray tan, I’m quite possibly THE whitest shade of white imaginable. They may also know that I am not a fan of getting sunburned, and that I wear sunscreen year round… lots and lots of sunscreen.
With that, I have frequented both Planet Tan and Diamond Hills Sports Club and Spa. No more. I now have a monthly membership to Planet Beach Contempo Spa. $ 65/​month unlimited tanning.
My go-​to:
Level one clear or level one bronze. Mystic.
But… when I’m feeling especially adventurous, I go with the level two clear or level two bronze. Mystic.
Depending on my mood, of course.

First of all, the only reason why this business received one star is because I actually like the facial machine that they have. Customer service is a big fat ZerO! I purchase a groupon type of voucher off of another site for 3 massages, 3 facials, 3 hydro Derma services in August. I have not been able to use this voucher because their hydro machine was down for about 3 weeks and they also said that I could not use my facial service unless I purchase. $ 15 facial packet EACH time that I want to do my facial service. This would have been fine if the voucher states somewhere that I needed to make an additional purchase in order to receive my service but it didn’t! Apparently, someone dropped the ball when they ran this deal because apparently it does say that on other vouchers from different sites. I felt that I should be comped the packets or given other services in exchange. I was told sorry nothing we can do you must buy the packets or call corporate or the voucher site to complain… this was from their manager B. So, I’ve been going back and forth with the voucher company and Now after a month In a half Planet Beach is telling the voucher company that they offered to exchange services for me and I denied. And also that they have called me and I haven’t returned their messages! Complete BULLS?? T! I can’t believe a company would flat out lie like that. If they would have offered I would have said OK, but this never happened! I can’t even get my $$ back! I will never ever refer nor recommend this company to anyone. I own a business in the area as well. We service A LOT of women in the area and we are always networking/​referring local businesses. It’s unfortunate that I will never say anything good about my experience with Planet Beach. I love to see local businesses in our small community thrive, but now I know first hand why they have bad reviews and word around town is negative.

My mom received a gift certificate on her flowers for this place. She called to make her appointment and the woman who answered said she could bring up to 6 friends with her so we all loaded I got off work early and they told us that we were given wrong info and gave us all a free 7 day pass. My cousin and I booked our days up and on the 7^th day the lady at the desk gave us an extra 2 day pass. I spent $ 40 on detox pills an spent $ 80 on tanning lotion and purchasing the crème for the facial so at least they got business out of it. Then when I came back a different lady told me I could not have the pass but said she would let us do it one more time, then put me in the hydrater and didnt even put in any of the solution not to mention rude as hell. My cousin and I decided not to even swap and me tan because of how uncomfortable we felt. That place is a rip and to pay for skin cancer is ridiculous. My dermatoligist said to tan outside all day because the tanning booth rays in higher doses are harmful.

Planet Beach was recommended to me by a friend, however, I still called around to compare prices. Planet Beach has competitive pricing compared to other salons in the area. For example, Planet Beach was ½ the price for a 3 month unlimited tanning package compared to Planet Tan (which I used to go to). Also, you are able to buy packages without entering into a contract — you pay up front and you’re done — no strings attached. This was a big plus for me. The guy at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes (for cleaning) when I have gone in. The tanning beds here are nice and well maintained.

Been tanning here for 2+ years. I started going here because I got a job with the City. It was easy for me to pop in during lunch without an appointment. Ashley was always great and friendly. She ALWAYS remembers everyone’s name. I stopped going here about 6 months ago because I got a job in SF and I live in Concord, so its hard for me to make it out here. I called recently and I dont think the old Ashley works there anymore. There’s a new Ashley apparently, probably just as nice.
PROS:
Great clean tanning beds.
Clean spray tanning booths.
They get you a robe if you do a tanning bed and spray so you dont have to change.
Friendly service.
CONS:
They are busy, so they hardly pick up the phone if there’s only one girl working.
Sometimes your bed isnt ready if you have an appointment, you still have to wait (bad if you’re on limited time for lunch).
The only downfall is that I have a huge package with them and I cant transfer it to the San Ramon Planet Beach (since its MUCH closer to me and I never go near Brentwood anymore) since I dont have the VIP unlimited Monthly membership. BOOOOO. Money is money. But oh well, they are still really nice.
