This was my first time using TLCakes. I was very impressed & will now order all cakes from TLCakes.

I ordered a cake from here for my daughter’s baptism. It was amazing. Now, I’m pregnant and I’ve been thinking about that cake for the past couple of weeks. Every day I think about cake from here. I’ve been trying to think up an excuse to order another cake and I’ve got nothing other than this baby really needs that cake. I think we will all be having more cake soon.

Our Wedding of May 2015 was booked with Wedgwood Brentwood.
One of the vendors they had was TL CAKES.
They were very easy to communicate with both email and phone.
I took a picture of the wedding cake design I wanted and since I was not a fan of the fondant icing, they were able to suggest another design that I absolutely fell in love with.
We had a tasting and everything was delicious, so we had 3 different flavors for our cake. Everyone loved the cake and after 1 year of marriage, we went back for our complimentary anniversary cake that resembled our wedding cake and it was so delicious.

Just did my cake tasting for my wedding next year, I am sooooo excited! The tasting went perfectly, you get to try all the cake flavors and different fillings. We’re doing a 3 tier wedding cake and a 2 tier grooms cake. All the cake flavors are so good we’re doing something different for every tier.
Tena is seriously the sweetest person alive and willing to work with our crazy cake requests. She also made my parents wedding cake 5 years ago exactly how I drew it out.
I’m so excited for my wedding cake, it’s going to be a priority for me to get a bite of each tier on my wedding day. Also, they give you a free 6 inch cake for your one year anniversary! First major married fight is going to be what flavor the cake is!

I ordered two smash cakes for my grandson’s first birthday. I don’t live in Brentwood, so I went blindly off Unilocal reviews, with my fingers AND toes crossed. I worked with Tena, and she was extremely easy to work with … my grandson was so gentle and didn’t actually «smash» the cakes, we were able to slice them and serve. The cakes were absolutely delicious!!! Two thumbs up, thank you!

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! Walked in with my fiancé and mother and a lady with blonde hair (I’m guessing it was the manager) had a stank attitude for the moment we arrived. She didn’t engage with us whatsoever and had absolutely no interest on why we were even there. Bad vibes! Go somewhere else. Not to mention tacky 1980’s wedding cakes designs. Step your game up its 2016 lady!

Used TLCakes for the 1^st time this past weekend for my child’s 6^th birthday. They did a SpongeBob cake and it was delicious and amazing! We’ll be back again!!!

Tena is the best. She and her staff knocked out anniversary cake out of the park! We added a couple layers to the existing cake and they did an amazing job. From the smallest detail to the taste and the moistness of the cake was perfect. We had the Boston Cream Pie flavor and it was delicious. Their fondant is the best we have ever had. They did our wedding and anniversary cake. Tena is an amazing cake decorator.

They made my wedding cake exactly as I envisioned it. It was absolutely beautiful. It was ready on time and the staff was great. My only complaint was that it was a little too sweet.

Want to be able to buy a cake for tonight’s last minute dinner party. Oh wait you need two weeks notice to get a cake from these guys.

We went here last night for first time. My son had a 16 year old birthday party last minute last night and we had no cake! I ran to this shop
Last minute at 445 pm and grabbed the best Oreo chocolate cake we have ever had!!! Love them!

We’ve ordered from this bakery twice for my daughter’s birthdays, one delivered and one picked up– and both cakes were decorated just like the photo I’ve brought in (unlike other places like Safeway or Raley’s where they will modify the vision that you have to something else, making it look like a cheap grocery store baker knock off version) and not only were they cute, but both cakes have been delicious! The cake it self is spongy and moist, and the creams were just the perfect amount of sweet. In my opinion, they are the best in Brentwood. Now the staff in the bakery are not the friendliest but at least they aren’t rude. (Hence my four stars) Clearly we keep coming back for the cakes and not their customer service and that’s an exception I’m willing to overlook since good cakes made from scratch are hard to find in this neighborhood. Price is moderate and yes, they deliver. LOVE, love, love!

Very disappointed in the level of customer service! Went in to order a baby shower cake. First off, the blonde cashier (no name tag) was not personable at all, she didn’t even try to help us decide what to get. She simply gave us a book of pictures and stood there while we looked through it. We finally decided on a cake (without ANY help). Keep in mind we ordered the cake 2 and a half weeks in advance!
The NEXT day we decided it wasn’t going to work out with how far we had to travel for the baby shower. So we called first thing in the morning asking to cancel the order and to get a refund. The same blonde lady answered the phone and was completely rude telling us there are no refunds and we would have to get store credit. Then when we asked to speak to the owner she said she was «too busy», no store owner should be too busy to help a customer.
We decided to go into the store to ask for a refund and the blonde cashier was so rude YET AGAIN pointing to a sign that said «NO CASH REFUND» well we paid with our card and she still refused. Then the owner, who just sat there working on a cake started telling us they don’t do cash refunds, again we paid with card so that is irrelevant to our situation. Eventually she told the blonde lady to give us our refund and then the blonde lady rolled her eyes and gave us attitude.
Customer service 0 stars, you don’t treat customers poorly if you want them to come back. I did try a red velvet cupcake the day we ordered the cake and it was good. But I refuse to give my money to people who treat me poorly, no matter how good it is.

We ordered our owl gender reveal cake and we were in love the moment we saw it! The customer service is awesome, and even though our cake was a little pricey we were 100% satisfied with the look and taste. We showed them a picture of what we wanted and they delivered that and more! I would definitely order from them again.

Very disappointed in this business!!! Would not recommend for a special event like a wedding. The owner did a horrible job making up for their mistake.

One star says it all! Lesson learned be careful who you chose to be part of a special day like a wedding

Great service & delicious cakes! We went with TLCakes for our wedding last year and they made everything perfect & delicious. They even remake the cake on our one year anniversary & it was even more delicious!

I’ve known about this place for a really long time but have never gone in until yesterday. Walking in to the shop, it was nothing like I expected. It didn’t look like a bakery, more like a workshop. They only had one tiny display case with a limited variety of flavors. None of which really looked appetizing. I did end up choosing the Kahlua Fudge, which there was no fudge involved at all. It was a dry and crusty chocolate chip cupcake with bland «coffee» colored frosting. They should just call it a Kahlua chocolate chip cupcake. My boyfriend got an éclair and he really enjoyed it. I’ll stick with baking my own cupcakes.

Will never order cakes or cupcakes here again.
My order was all messed up. My cupcakes were cooked slanted so the bread was spilling over one side of the paper… Don’t know how that was even possible. The frosting looked like a joke. Something look like they rushed through and were RY beyond belief.
Gave them a second chance and they messed up again and when I called to complain I was hung up on
