Decent brunch food, a bit overprice for the quality of the food… Service was slow. On the flipside, the view is fantastic if the weather is nice enough.

Food was impeccable, service was great the only downside was my bourbon had a fly or two in but this didn’t change my overall view of the restaurant! Highly recommended! The steak was cooked to perfection, the chowder was the best I ever had and the valet parking staff were very courteous!

I am surprised at the low ratings here, but it seems that there must be a vibe. My family had an awesome sunset dinner here last night. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was beautiful. The terrace on a summer night was awesome during sunset. My party had oyster appetizers and mussels. The mussels were HUGE(amount and size)…I think actually too big, but that is a matter of preference. It was enjoyed. I got the raw oysters and there were only 4… for the money there probably should have been 6, but they were good. For dinner, two diners had the scallop dinner and I had the bass. My daughter had clam chowder with the kale salad. I would agree with another review here… the dressing was too thick! Dont kill the kale! It tasted good though… just use less. She liked the clam chowder. It was thick, but mild tasting and that is how she likes it. I had the bass special and it was DELICIOUS. No desserts because we needed to head to the beach to catch the end of the Cape Cod sunset. It was a beautiful setting and it ended our Cape Cod vacation on a high note.

Cozy atmosphere and great view up on the rooftop. The drinks were a little pricey but very good. I recommend the blueberry lemonade cocktail. Our waitress was very accommodating by bringing us bread and butter even though we didn’t order an appetizer or meals.

We own a home at Ocean Edge and we love to go to the Ocean Terrace for drinks. The atmosphere is amazing and the sunsets are magnificent. The bartenders, for the most part, are terrific– Marge is the best. That being said, they just can’t seem to get the food right. The meals are mediocre and very overpriced. There are very few appetizers worth ordering that make you want to hang out at the bar to keep ordering drinks. We will often watch the sunset there and then leave to have dinner somewhere else(Brewster Fish house or the pool bar at the Wequasset). Too bad the food isn’t worth staying for.

This is the worst place ever! I never have taken the time to write a review, but after having a night out with my husband I can’t get over how bad it was, RAW chicken,(chef came out to apologize), but then got served the same piece of chicken? Blahterrible scallops,(peach bourbon sauce was like baby food) even after getting our meal for FREE, it’s not worth anybody’s time with the bad service, I’m just glad we didn’t stay at that resort! It is almost comical how bad it was, every table around had some kind of issue, one woman behind us had an entire tray of wine spilled on her and everyone was asking to get the check so they could get the hell out of there, oh yeah did I mention another table showing off their mail order polish bride. An hour later I think I have food poisoning. I can honestly say worst… Restaurant…ever

Probably okay for a drink but don’t waste your money for dinner. Clam chowder was nauseatingly thick and, worse, it was delivered barely lukewarm. Both of the salads we ordered, wedge and baby kale, were drenched in fatty, thick white dressing. The swordfish was dry and not fresh. Nothing is worse than spending a lot of money on a bad meal. The servers tried hard and were lovely; honestly they seemed embarrassed by the food they were serving.

I can’t believe the low ratings at Ocean Terrace! My husband and I have come back twice for our anniversary after getting married at Ocean Edge, and both times have been stellar experiences. As a halibut connoisseur, I can honestly say that this is the best I’ve ever had, and my husband has ordered the special(duck) and the scallops, and been extremely happy with them. I’d make the drive from Boston just for the entrees alone. The service here has been outstanding, down to offering up some(very soft) blankets to keep me warm on the terrace during dinner during those lovely June«summer» months… Love love Ocean Terrace, and will keep coming back for sure!

This place truly sucks. Staying in the hotel. Stuck eating and drinking here. They have no idea about customer service. I just don’t want to drive far, so I’m stuck being treated poorly by people who couldn’t care less about service. Will never stay in this hotel again and would never have a drink or eat here again.

I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. This is a really good restaurant. Yes it’s expensive but you’re at one of the top resorts on the Cape. What do you expect? We’ve eaten here many times and the food is wonderful. And I hate everything. The cranberry mojitos are amazing. Just dont have too many! All the fish dishes we’ve had were great, the soups and appetizers are all terrific. You might have to wait a while or make a reservation but it’s worth it. Don’t be a cheap skate– GO.

Might have been the worst service I have ever had. Sat at the bar and it took at least 15 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge us, he then got our order wrong. The bartop was covered with dirty dishes that weren’t taken care of until after we got our drinks. I would have understood if it was busy, but it’s a Monday night and the bar wasn’t even full. I finished my drink and he never checked back to see if I needed anything else. They are lucky the view is great, or else no one would go there.

Yes it’s expensive, get over it. Had some of the best duck I’ve ever had in my life here. It came with a savory cheese bread pudding, which knocked my socks off. Also had some grain mustard with it as well — just perfect flavor combinations and perfect execution. My wife had halibut, which she said was the best piece of fish she has ever eaten. Also started w/some wonderful/plentiful crab cakes. View, atmosphere, and service are off the charts. Easily one of my favorite places anywhere.

Great atmosphere, great service with a fantastic view! Sunset by the Ocean Terrace is a must! Definitely try the seafood and fish. It can’t get fresher than that! This restaurant is a great upbeat place to be! Awesome for happy hour with a group of friends or a dinner for two! Love it!

The view is why you’re there and the setting is lovely. The food is disappointing. My steak was cooked perfectly while my partners was excessively over done same with his fish. We had a vanilla flan that might as well have been jello it was so tasteless. Go for the drinks that are pricey but it’s a pretty place.

Well, the view is great. Figure about $ 50 bucks a plate, not unusual for a hotel restaurant at a place like this. Unfortunately, I was really pumped for the new suckling pig confit but it tasted like dry pulled pork. So sad. And the service, my god. We must have been there for three or four hours. Our waitress broke the cork trying to open two different bottles of wine. Poor thing. If you’re looking to get out quickly, don’t order dessert. Ours took about 35 minutes, and I’m pretty sure it’s because they actually baked the cookies. Not much of a payoff there, unfortunately. Hate to be negative, but dinner, wine and dessert cost almost an iPad and I’d rather have an iPad.

The biggest things Ocean Terrace has going for it are the gorgeous view and amazing atmosphere. The food and drinks are expensive($ 15 for a strawberry daiquiri! $ 50 dollar entrees!), and unfortunately, none of it was worth those hefty price tags. I’d have to say the highlight of the meal, food-wise, was probably the appetizers. I really enjoyed my crab cakes, which came with a delicious spiced chile aioli. My dining companion had the clam chowder, which had smoked bacon added to it. That meaty goodness bumped it up from standard to pretty darn amazing. Entrees weren’t nearly as impressive. I went with the roasted chicken breast, primarily because it was listed as having a brie cheese stuffing, and I love brie! The chicken was tasty, but when I cut into it, there was no brie to be found(or tasted). If there was any in there, it was minimal. Instead, there was a veggie stuffing of sorts, consisting of carrots, celery, and onions, which was not listed on the menu, and was not quite as exciting. I wouldn’t have ordered it if I knew that up front. The chicken did come with a very rich orzo mac and cheese, which was pretty good, but definitely not worth thirty bucks. My dining companion’s entrée was a complete miss, far more disappointing than my brie-less chicken breast. He ordered the grilled veal rib chop, which at $ 47, I expected would be truly incredible. But much to our dismay, the piece of meat that we were served was extremely fatty throughout, and too chewy. Truly a letdown. I do have to reemphasize how great the view is at this place, though. Sitting out on the upstairs patio at Ocean Terrace at sunset makes for a beautiful summer evening. Now, if they could fix up the menu a bit, then the Ocean Terrace would become a dining destination that shouldn’t be missed.

View/Location: 5 stars Service: 1 – 2 stars Food: 2 – 3 stars Cocktails: 3 stars Value: 1 star The location can’t be beat. They could make this place amazing if they tried. Key words: if they tried. They aren’t trying. What were they thinking, hiring such inexperienced servers? If they want to be a fine resort, and charge those exorbitant prices, they need to hire top-of-the-line waitstaff who is experienced in FINE dining. The food is meh. For the prices, it’s bad. If it were less expensive, it’d be fine. The cocktails aren’t bad, but again — if you want to be a world-class resort, it’s time to get on the forefront of the cocktail movement. Flavored vodkas are OVER, people! This location has such potential — it’s a real shame to see it go to waste. Honestly, if they fixed the service issue, I could deal w/the boring food & drinks.

Ocean Terrace is the«high-end» restaurant and bar at the Ocean Edge Resort Mansion that is anything but. Poor service and great views is what we found. The bar/restaurant is situated at the very peak of the resort and offers a fantastic view of the ocean from your table. It’s mainly an outdoor restaurant and bar– and you may be rightly wondering how this can exist especially when it gets cold on the cape. Well, they have thoughtfully installed many heaters around the tables and let me tell you they definitely work well. The bar has several tall cocktail tables around the back and waiter service. We showed up right at sunset on a Friday night and found a few tables still open. It wasn’t too busy. Our waiter took our order(Macallan Scotch and a craft beer on tap) and disappeared for 25 minutes — never to return. We saw him serving other tables. After the sun had set and we were still waiting for our drinks, we just walked off got in the car and drove to Del Mar in Chatham for some of their nice drinks. I don’t know why the service here was so poor– I heard the owners of the resort were in town this week. Maybe they were all paying too much attention to them and not the guests. This was definitely the poorest service we experienced on the entire cape.
