The nail technician that did my nails was sweet, not pushy and did a nice pedicure. The pedicure chair seemed a little dated, but was sanitary. However when I asked if I could pay with my gift card that truly had just expired a couple of days before the owner gave me a hard time. She accused me of tampering with the sticker that showed the expiration date. I was very upset that after admitting the gift card was expired and simply asking a question that could’ve been answered by a simple«yes» or «no», that I was confronted with such an horrible accusation, in front of other customers. Any reasonable person could understand how part of a small cheap sticker on a card, written in pen with the amount and expiration date, could’ve partially peeled off in an overcrowded wallet after a year and few days. First and last time I would ever visit.

This is a nice nail salon in the back part of the Chillmark Shopping Center — it’s caddy-corner to the Carvel Ice Cream Shop. I love that it’s open on Sundays. They sterilize their equipment and I see them cleaning the pedicure tubs after each customer. The place vascilates between very busy to moderately busy. My manicures usually last a full week — even my french manicures! I think that’s a pretty impressive. They don’t give a default massage at the end of the manicure/pedicure which I found to be a bit dissapointing. Instead, there’s a man(who also does manicures and pedicures) who might offer up a massage. I tip him $ 2-$ 5 depending on the amount of time he spends on the massage. He’s actually really good and has really strong hands(that sounds as little iffy, but it’s true). The place is large and usually kind of cold. They also have a big-screen television that’s usually turned to Food Network, and a large selection of current magazine issues. This is my go-to nail salon.
